Actually, free drugs for addicts as long as they commit to a sobreity program might be a good idea. Hearing this speech bridged a divide between me and my fellow citizens, answering why the flag pin is important to some people: The desecration of America's symbols by some in the 60's and the disrespect for Vietnam veterans left scars that make antiwar sentiment seem suspect.
