How did GM get away with filling bankruptcy when they received the BILLIONS from the tax payer bailout? What a sham! I thought the bailout was to prevent a bankruptcy I don't even think they needed the money to begin with! I feel GM's greed took the American people and our government for fools! And we won't ever get our tax dollars back. It makes me sick to hear how much there white collar employees are getting in bonuses when they still owe the tax payers billions!

If ENRON taught us one thing, you can run a completely insolvent corporation for many many years, all it takes is a complicit Government to help with the fruad. GM however went the extra step and simply had the Government directly STEAL tax payer money and give it the insolvent company in broad daylight!

Obama Administration and GM mislead the public about $6.7B loan repayment.

The TARP inspector general, Neil Barofsky, bluntly told the Senate Finance Committee during a hearing that the repayment "is just other TARP money"

The $6.7 billion is also just a fraction of the $52 billion General Motors received in government ...aid. Tax payer losses on GM are expected to exceed $30 billion.

Really, what are these guys complaining about. This company was mismanaged for years by horrible management and equally lazy owners. Now the I guess the American tax payers owns the company. Why not talking about kicking out the management and start doing real high quality cars. The only people make some innovations in GM is Opel, and its not really American is it. Take a long look in the mirror and start working, instead of making those BS, Government Motors statements.

@thefullmonte2003 It is business. You own it know because the incompetent management could not make money, innovate and renew them selves. If this would not have happened then the company would have been liquidated. I say put the house in order and sell it for a profit (=less tax for you). That should have been done with the banks too, instead of just giving them the money. The government should have taken them an flushed out the owners (and management), i.e. they you stole the money from you.

@MaxZagar you see, the government money is your tax money... nothing less. Therefore, the money should not be handed out for free, just to be funneled to management. Also, naturally the government should not be holding on to the assets but let them circulate, back to the private sector.
