  • Το put it in a nutshell: Bravissimi a tutti! Oh, and maestro, do come back and conduct again! We implore you!

  • But all of this would not be possible without the passionate and dedicated work in musical preparation by mrs Maria Neofytidou. Him and her remind me of Serafin and Tonini:the maestro underlined the singers or smoothed out their occasional flaws and the repetiteur developped the foundation on which he could build.

  • He was superb to say the least! Just compare the videos of his Rusalka at Bratislava and the Athens videos and you will see that the Athens musicians can be equally excellent. I will also commend on the singers and choir who were stunning.

  • they have managed to write musical history. Such an occasion is very rare. Personally I was totally disinterested by the staging.for that reason and since I was seated above the orchestra pit I concentrated on the maestro.

  • I was also there at the premiere and the final performance of this opera. I regretted that the invited guests had to be caught up in the vortex of the riots that did not support the artists but rather made them uncomfortable to say the least. We all have to bow before that magnificent maestro and his team.

  • I was there that night (6-3-2006) in Greek National Opera, Athens! Nathalia Uschakova was a great, perfect, Rusalka (perhaps better than Fleming - and she is also a wonderfull, charming human being), Denisa Hamarova was great as Jezibaba and the Foreign Princess, Pavel Cernoch was also a great Prince!

    Bravissimi cantanti tutti i tre!

I hope they excuse the idiots (...they understand!) and come back soon!

  • I loved it so...I was transported to the times of the greatest singers with magnificent voices

  • Never heard a better Rusalka since Gabriela Benackova, stunning!!

  • Brava Ushakova...finalmente una vera Rusalka!!!
