Judging from the vast amount of - sorry to say - ignorant comment here, it seems like people don't know what they're talking about. Have you ever dealt with an ADHD child yourself or are you just guessing?

I've dealt with ADHD children as well as poorly raised children myself. The difference is huge. ADHD children are extremely impulsive. Small things like a fly flying around or a car passing by outside immediately steals the attention. This has nothing to do with bad parenting.

ive never understood, i was diagnosed with ADHD and i have all the symptoms, but im just fine.. I mean i am very hyper, i get distracted easily and i cant spend 1 minute without moving. But im still smart. I always day dream in school, but once something is explained to me i can do it. What is so wrong with having ADHD?

ADHD doesn't suck, it's the medical department that does. You know why the doc says statistics show better results in Ritalin than Omega3/Vitamin C additions? ADHA is very real, for whatever reason a person developes it, it can't be imagined away. Not all cases are the same, some people can grow out of it but for those that can't they may need to take meds or work with a differant treatment. Don't ignore this problem. If you grow out of it, great, if not get the necessary help.

i hate adhd... no drugs worked for me, and i can't focus on reading for more than a page or two. I fucking hate it cause there's nothing anyone can do to make reading the book easier so I'm failing my english classes and many other classes too.

i have the exact same problem... my meds dont really work for me but when i read i read like 1 or 2 pages at a time and take notes on a index card as im doing it. it seems to help a little bit but im also failing my english class. ha fuck adhd but whatever nothin i can do about it

Hey! I'm ADHD and I love it!!!! I'm on a non stimulant ADHD drug. But I'v developed a coping mechanism called "hyper focusing" which means that you can use your ADHD qualities to get to an answer faster and work harder for short amount of time. Also with the reading, perhaps you're not a visual learner which might be the problem... not the ADHD. I'm sorry you're struggling but take pride in being different! :)

I disagree. You try failing classes but working for hours each night and ending up with a 1.7 GPA after working your ass off all year... By the way after meds, I went from a 1.7- 3.6 GPA. And now I'm almost at a 4.0. So I'll take the treatment and get somewhere in life thank you!

I have been diagnosed with A.D.H.D and then i was put on medication (adderall) beacuse of it. school is extremmly difficult and a constant struggle, and without the medication life is very frustrating. having adhd is hard to discribe and if you do not have it, then it is hard to understand. the adderall has greatly inproved school for me. before i dreaded having to go but now its not so bad. no affence but you dont know what its like and this video does an awful job of explaining it.

Chances are you are simply bored. Maby have a poor teacher. Test yourself... Find 1 thing you think is really really interesting and focus on it. Try to see how much you can learn and if it can be expanded to other areas of interest. Before you know it, you have actually learned something.

I might have been drugged down as child, but luckally I wasn't.

@purebeet2k9 I've been researching like shit, and discovered that you don't need Ritalin. Its nutrient, people with more testosterone (adhd) are physical more capable than average people. But that also means their bodies need more to consume, more fatty acids, more proteins and vitamins to keep it in its superior condition. Eating Omega3 with 6 and 9 + Vitamin C is the soluntion, and making sure you eat suffiently. So you always feel well pleased.

Unless you know someone or you have it, you are in total darkness and in no condition to make coment. Many children do die from misdiagnosis of the disease, but if you go to backyard Dr you will receive backyard medicine, if you take your child to a proper Paediatrician that specialises and tests ADHD before diagnosing you will get to the bottom of it.

EEG test show that children with ADHD have more alpha brainwaves, associated withhh relaxation, than beta waves ,associated with mental activity, when trying to focus than controls making it difficult for them to stay on task oftentimes this can also cause a paradoxal effect of hyperactivity to compensate for this.

Someday you may end up having a child with adhd. Until then, i suggest you get educated before making comments on things you don't understand. That is why there is a stigma for many people with neurological disorders because they "look" normal otherwise.
