This is a terrific performance! Shame on those who have come on here to try and sabotage the rating. I also thought this was a very emotional interpretation; so I am not sure what Chris is talking about. What you probably find "rushed" (which I disagree with) is part of this artist's interpretation of the piece. I found this to be among the most exciting performances I've heard of this well-worn piece of music. It sounds as though you might be too tied to a specific performance you like.
That was amazing!! I must say though, I've never heard that ending before for this piece lol. What note was that at the top of the arpeggio? Its was really cool! Great performance!

Vostra Maesta Salvatore Accardo, mi permetto di segnalarvi, se non ve ne foste ancora accorti, che il brano suonato da Andrea Olvia (eccellente suonatore di flauto dalla straordinarie doti MUSICALI) è un brano tratto dal repertorio virtuosistico del flauto. Mi sembra lapalissiano sottolineare che in tale pezzo la parte più importante ed evidente è quella tecnico-sonora. Andrea Oliva è uno dei massimi interpreti di oggi, la sua musicalità è tangibile, mi sembrerebbe inutile sottolinearlo.

Yes, in terms of sound, color choice, rhythm/tempo, interpretation, etc, there ARE differing opinions. Any number of these elements, however, can be different and still acceptable...I've heard interpretations that I've absolutely hated but that didn't mean I thought the flutist was bad. If you can't listen to this and acknowledge that it's good flute playing, regardless of the stylistic choices, then maybe you should find something else to do.

quest'uomo è un genio.... io sto studiando con Montafia (con cui Oliva si è specializzato), e spero tanto ma tanto ma tanto di diventare brava almeno un'unghia di quanto è bravo lui.. che suono meraviglioso...
secondo anche prenderlo un goccino più lento il finale non sarebbe male...però anche io preferirei farlio a una velocità del genere...difficile però nello staccato!!!!!!!!!!!
chi si vede! infatti sopratutto lo staccato mi genererebbe un sacco di problemi. Per non parlare della scaletta al LA di terza ottava della penultima riga (che io cmq facci ocon gli armonici).
Guarda...io come dicevo l'ho dato al 5to e lo ho fatto più veloce della media. Ma il finale...quello lo avrò fatto sui 140bpm. Molto di più non ci cavo fuori molto, soprattutto ne perdo troppo in suono che risulta troppo sfiatato :( Cmq, i passaggi veramente difficili tecnicamente stanno tutti nell'ultima pagina imho :|
