If this were an older carbureted vehicle it would have stalled due to fuel spilling out of the float bowl and running all over inside the air filter and manifold flooding it out. My guess about the tapping noise is the oil pump being uncovered during the rollover and starving the engine of oil or some oil got sucked into the pcv system and hydrolocked some cylinders.
