Seems to me learning "English" would be more practical seeing as it has about 1.8 billion speakers and is the official language in 53 countries while Esperanto is not an official language in any country. Not saying English is better than any other language, just saying it seems it'd be more useful to learn it as a second language.
I am not sure what you are asking. I you saying that Wikipedia says Ido is easier than Esperanto? If so, then, I don't know. I can only speak for Esperanto which is spoken in at least 130 countries by an estimated 2 to 10 million people (depending on how you define speaker). I am attending the 79th annual National Congress of E-o this month. I have not heard of such organization with Ido, Volalpuk, Glossa, etc. E-o has books, music, movies, and over 100 years of history. I dont know much of Ido
Also, the "National Congress" (or "Landa Kongreso") is just the North American organization, which includes Mexico and Canada. The Landa Kongreso was held in Montreal and Tijuana in the last 2 years.
There is also the World Esperanto Association (UEA - Universala Esperanto Asocio). I think they are having their 94th annual congress this year in Bialystok, Poland.
I have nothing against Ido. Maybe it is easier. But "mi parolas Esperanton"! :)
Dankon! ...for you comment. I do want to do one that is longer. This one was done in a rush trying to beat a deadline. I needed to be submitted to a project, and it needed to be short. Mine was possibly too long. All they wanted was for you to say "Mi parolas Esperanton" (I speak Esperanto) ... but I had to elaborate!
Cute video, but it could be longer. I just started learning Esperanto and it's really easy. For anyone interested in learing Esperanto, do a google search for "Kurso de Esperanto". It's a really good free program from learning Esperanto.
