This is my FREAKIN JAM!! Gene Harris has from now on been top 5 next to John Coltrane (I don't know if he's overrated to all the extreme Jazz heads).

Hey, Gene is not dead, he lives on through his timeless music. Whata neat guy. Dug him first in LA at the Lighthouse when he was with the Three Sounds. Genuis is the work, got all his cd's. Thanks to the poster!!

Loveeeee Gene Harris & everything he does. Saw him with Ray Brown at the Hobbit in Portland,Ore. & have an autographed album. He's great!!!

I love Gene Harris and I don't think there's anything he's ever done that hasn't given me chills. Saw him live at the Hobbit in Portland,Ore. also have an autographed album. His Bam Bam Bam album.

Didn't know about Mr. Harris passing. He has an amazing body of work, an incredibly soulful pianist.

yes, unfortunatly he passed away 5 years ago, i am not quite sure, but i think he was only 64.

Great to see Gene Harris play again. Saw him at the Bulls Head Barnes UK along with about 350 people in a room made for about 60!
Shook his hand and was able to say thanks for being an influence on my own (albeit limited) playing over the years. A gig to remember.

I even stood aside of him on the men's room in "JAZZLAND" :). He played "Summertime" for me on request (the way he did it on the BAM bAM CD with ray Brown)

I'm transfering from video to harddisc with pinnacle movie box and studio 9 software. There I choose SVCD as quality standard which makes almost 100 MB for 6 minutes. I don't have any troubles when I watch it here on youtube!

yes, in Vienna. It's supposed to be the oldest jazz club in Europe (at least under same leadership). Exists for 34 year2 now. Opened in 1972with Albert Nicholas in the first week. continued with Ben Webster in the second week and had seen almost all than or now living jazz stars. Eddie Lockjaw Davis almost "lived" there, same Ray Brown.
