  • 10) Q: And, finally they say that tennis is a chess in movement, so please accept these (cookies or chocolate in a form of chess figures) to sweeten your defeat.

    A: Thank you.

  • 7) Q: What do you enjoy to do in your everyday life?

A: My life is very interesting by itself. I enjoy being at home, being with my parents and friends.

    8) Q: Do you like cooking?

A: Absolutely. I love cooking. Last time I cooked many dishes of the Spanish cuisine and I was good in it. My Spanish coach said that I did it great, so I can be proud of it.

  • 5) Q: What do you feel about the fact that Safina took your place on the top of tennis Olympus?

A: Well, she does it very good. Shes in a very good shape at the moment. I didnt follow many of her matches on TV for the last time, but she has got a lot of confidence and this helps much in tennis. But everything is just ahead.

    6) Q: Is your life interesting without tennis?

A: Sure, life is not just about tennis.

  • 4) Q: What kind of language do you mostly use on a court to express your frustration: English or Russian?

A: It does make any difference when you do that, it can be any language English, Russian, French or whatever, it doesnt really make any difference.

    4) Q: Do you follow pro WTA tournaments for the last time, say for the last 2 weeks (in Madrid, Rome, Stuttgart)? Do you know theirs winners?

    A: Safina?

  • 3) Q: Do you happen to watch many of Russian movies or reading books in Russian?

A: I wouldnt say that I watch many Russian movies, maybe a couple of those that my father brought with him. I read sometimes books in Russian, but considering that I have too many ongoing projects I dont have much time for it.

  • 2)Q: You have many fans and they watching you so closely that you hear sometimes that Sharapova lost her weight or gained her weight. And what do you think yourself about your it?

A: Well, I dont really know. I dont know how much I weighted before and how much do I weight now. But I certainly know that if I keep training and eating well, then everything will be just fine.

  • 1)Q: She was obviously asked if she practices her Russian while being in US.

A: Yes, my grandma visited us in the winter for about 1,5 months and generally I spent mush of my time with my parents: mother & father. And when I am at home I keep talking in Russian, especially on the phone (with the parents).
