thats what i LOVE about linux, you can run all kind of eye-candy that you want and it will never use more resources than for example Aero on Vista ;P

nice graphics but i'm more for performance .. i could live without some of that stuff .. but nice vdeo (i'm also using Linux)

Personally, I use my computer for such low-intensity stuff most of the time that it would be a waste of clock cycles not to be running Beryl.
