@ch66mk66 . I take the clip I want for the left side and put it in an overlay track and set it to fill screen. Apply the cropping filter. Adjust the portion you want cropped. Untick "fill color" and tick "stationary".
@ch66mk66 . Click first key frame and copy. Click last key frame and paste then "ok". You will see a distorted view in the preview screen, do not worry. Next drag the clip you want for the right side to the main video track. There is no need to crop this clip, but you may, if you find a need to. Next click on "clip", under the preview window. Drag the line, for the overlay track, to the left until it lines up the way you want it to look. That should be about it.
