It's not like anybody is going to overtake him anytime soon. And even if somebody wanted to overtake his enormous speed, he'd have to drive around 400km/h so he can overtake fast enough.
Sadly, SAAB's V6 was quietly eliminated from the lineup shortly after GM sold SAAB. For what its worth though, The V6 Saab cost about as much as the BMW 335i. The old V6 Saab was MUCH more expensive than the 4 cylinder Turbo Saab, and somehow it eats about as much gasoline as most V8's...
As much as I LOVE saab, the above is the reason I do not own one. The acceleration just isn't there for your money.
the bmw 335 is one of the fastes 300 bhp cars and the accelaration from 0-200 is extremely fast. the 335 benefits from a fantastic gear that improves the 0-200 time with 2-3 seconds compared to many other cars, but in a duel on the highway where you only change from 4. to 5. gear that advantaged is almost gone. The saab profits from that.
according to different tests a bmw 335 needs about 14-15 sec to accelerate from 100-200 km/h. In a video on youtube: saab 93 275bhp v6 hirsh accelaration, the saab accelarates from 100-195 km/h in about 12.5 sec. So it seems likely that the saab in this video with 280 bhp ( as we also see ) will be able to keep up with the fast 335.
stupid idiots .. the bmw is the better car just check 0-100/0-60 times , fuel comp etc.. i have driven much saabs and these cars are just crap .. have driven 2x 9-3 9-5 and the old 9000 aero .. 1+2gear you get crazy wheel spin and loose alot of time in all saabs .. if saab is sooo good why ALOT people buy bmws but NOBODY buys saab ? because its crap ..

That wide, huge, center console destroys the driving position - my right leg needs to sit straight from my body to rest on the gas and I need to move it left to reach the brake. Drivers car my ass! Are the engines good? Is RWD better than FWD? Of course so. But the driving position is rubbish. I can do 600km without stopping and not be tired.

@IchHabeWasIhrWollt I really like BMW, they are wonderful cars and have terrific styling, but to say they are better than Saab is just not fair. Saab is a completely different car. Were i live, practically every Saab 93 is a 4 cylinder turbo. Every BMW 3 series has a 6 cylinder engine. So yes BMW has slightly better track times, but Saab keeps up exceptionally well considering that it has a smaller engine, better fuel economy and they cost so much less.
I have a 9-3 Aero with a BSR remap and it is quite quick but lets not get carried away, a stock 335i has over 300 bhp versus my 250, a remapped 335i has potentially 370 bhp and will kill the Saab. The BMW is newer, better built and faster, the Saab is ok but there isnt much of a comparison with a 335, a 330 is more comparable performance wise. People don't expect the Saab to be fast so it surprises some much more expensive stuff but it isnt better than the BMW.
@J4cko999 You have a 2.0T Aero - the one on the video is the 2.8T. Most remaps on the 2.8T will see over 280bhp out of it. And this is Stage 1 we are talking, cause with extra mods it is 300+bhp. Just saying.. :) and let's not even talk about Torque, which this Saab engine is particularly good at!

guys, as much as I like saab the 335i is MUCH faster. this is a true fact. I honestly don't think the 335i was even punching it. that being said, I own a 335i and I'm getting a saab aero as well. Both are great cars.

@hadabenz: There may not be a general speed limit on the Autobahn, but there are still rules for keeping distance - they have cameras on the bridges that can measure distance and photograph offenders. The penalties are stiff - you can lose your license, if you tailgate at high speeds. I happen to know, because I lived there for 28 years, and have driven there for 10, including speeds up to 145 mph. I never got myself into trouble for tailgating, though.

That must have been fun! I´m myself from Sweden and own a Saab 9-5 aero -00. It´s not as fast as your car but I like it a lot! It has personality and is a whole lot of fun to drive! Thinking of getting a BMW 335ia though. Or a newer 9-5 aero with some tunes.
Lol so many people aren't aware of the midrange pull that Saabs have. Stock Saabs are famous for having 55-75mph times that are equal to those of cars with 300+ horsepower. Plus it's just a 335i, it's not like it's an sr71 spyplane.

Ah, gotta love a good old Saab. They may not be the fastest cars on the road, but they're just so good to drive. Comfortable with an awesome stereo... you put your foot down and it gives just enough back without thrashing you. I love 'em... More affordable than BMW's too.

The weight differences in these 2 cars could explain everything. I have never seen a 325i with dual exhaust,only the 335i's. I miss my 9-3. It was the greatest highway car ever. You can switch lanes so fast and excellerate very fast in 3rd gear. You gotta love the whistle of a turbo.

A Bmw E39, 540i (99), but, the engine-build-up is know on hold, got a supercharger with an apetite on gearboxes etc! The last one is a Honda NSX 3.0(91) = soon 4 sale. I´m buying a Supra.

Well I just gave back my 2008 9.3 aero 255hp which suprised the hell out of A lot of kids in bimmers and whoever wanted a highway run.. The car moves.. Just bought the turbo x and I'd really love to see any BM around a track with ALL road conditions. Heavy or not the suspension is unreal. God for bid I chip the turbo x and a few mods I'd give any high end sedan problems..

I dont care what kind of BMW it was 325i or 335i, the 9-3 AERO, and 3 series are both great cars, personally I think if the bmw was a 325i the Saab would have passed it. and I also think it WAS a 335i because the Saab didnt pass it. Dont under estamate a Saab Aero, it will surprise you. horsepower isnt everything you know. FYI I drive A saab :) and its very fast.

Wow, and you also have the slower 5speed automatic, right?. Well BMW's are almost all limited to 155m/h, if they can even go that fast (as most of the 4cylinder BMW's can't). IDK if the Saab is limited to 155 m/h, but if not, then it would have the advantage at those types of speed.

Thats not a 335i. The 335i is one of the fastest stock cars around 300hp, no Saab with 280hp is able to catch up with the BMW Twin Turbo. Simply Physics can tell.... Or read magazines:)!
mr or miss Ihnobino. Please read the information about this video. I'm tired of people posting comments that this is not a BMW 335i. As you clearly can see the BMW has one exhaust pipe on the right side and one exhaust pipe on the left side. That means it's either e 335i or 335d. When I later on passed the BMW i read 335i.
@vdb29 if they are fairly large and on both sides of the rear then chances are its a 335i unless its a custom exhaust for a lesser model. A 325 does not have anywhere near the same size exhaust tips as a 335.

@ihnobino Physics tell us that a car with a lower aerodinamic coef. needs less power to achieve higher speeds starting at 60mph so the 9-3 has a natural advantage at 130mph which compensates the lack of power against 335i.. besides a 325i has 50hp and 100lb/ft less than this 93..

Btw, why cant we hear the beautifull, laud 335 exhaust clearly? because it is not getting full throtle ;) so to be clear: Saab 280hp cant own 306hp bmw.

Physics also tell us that a lower aerodinamic coef. allows better performance at higher speeds and at 160mph saab design does matters.. plus 400lbs less on the nordic one weight may do the difference.. so stop reading magazines an go to school..

You are correct, and on contrary of what many people on this commentary think the 2002 turbo isn't from the year 2002... Even so, BMW was unable to make their turbo-machines drivable. Lack of waste-gate and rear wheel drive is usually a foolish combination.
i have a saab 93 with just under 300bhp and 455nm of torque and belive me a saab can catch a bmw 335 no problem,if you read the magazines as you put it look at power to weight ratio,the torque these cars have as well is amazing,never under estimate the power of saab,i have broken many motorists hearts with mine
ya, bmw made this car to be a joke. i dont even know why they thru twin turbos when they could have just used one if they werent going to make it fast. im sure aftermarket it can be a beast though.
it's not a 328i. it's one of the other and that's deff not a 328i. you'd easily be able to see the twin exhaust on the left side...it's not there. at some moments in the vid you can see a vague shadow of dual exhausts - one on the left and one on the right.
OH and the saab in the video is a manual...LOL... Cant compare Saabs to a 540i...at all! but keep dreaming and maybe that little 2.8 turns into a v8 if you concentrate..
lol are you a retard or just joking? cause 1:10 into vid you can see his dash and it says M5. you know what that means? that means he is in 5th gear in manual mode on his AUTO transmission. it can be shifted manually or leave it in drive and its a regular auto tranny.

Well i dont know what condition your car is in. But i know those 7 series are VERY heavy...I think something is not right with your car. I eat em up with no problems. The only saab who ever pulled on me was my friends old saab 9000 turbo with upgraded turbo and 330 hp...I had a Saab aero as a company car with 250 hp for 6 months..That thing is slow. Hope you didnt get beat by that model. If you did your car is not well.!.Drive safely

Lol so many people aren't aware of the midrange pull that Saabs have. Stock Saabs are famous for having 55-75mph times that are equal to those of cars with 300+ horsepower. Plus it's just a 335i, it's not like it's an sr71 spyplane.

Its MUCH better built, interior is in a completely different league compared to the ugly cheap 9-3 interior, its got more equipement, its more comfortable, its much quieter, more refined, more luxurious, handles better, consumes less fuel...so its worth more money, not becuase its a BMW, but because its a much better car.

The weight differences in these 2 cars could explain everything. I have never seen a 325i with dual exhaust,only the 335i's. I miss my 9-3. It was the greatest highway car ever. You can switch lanes so fast and excellerate very fast in 3rd gear. You gotta love the whistle of a turbo.

Actually, I have 4 cars. They are not awesome rides, but ok. I have a Lexus LS 400 (96), got it really cheap, notice: NO MECHANICAL FAILURES WHAT SO EVER with 298 147 km. It will always get u 2 work comfortably.The second car is a Mitsubishi Colt "stop n´go", perfect commute-vehicle.
A Bmw E39, 540i (99), but, the engine-build-up is know on hold, got a supercharger with an apetite on gearboxes etc! The last one is a Honda NSX 3.0(91) = soon 4 sale. I´m buying a Supra.

Well I just gave back my 2008 9.3 aero 255hp which suprised the hell out of A lot of kids in bimmers and whoever wanted a highway run.. The car moves.. Just bought the turbo x and I'd really love to see any BM around a track with ALL road conditions. Heavy or not the suspension is unreal. God for bid I chip the turbo x and a few mods I'd give any high end sedan problems..

I dont care what kind of BMW it was 325i or 335i, the 9-3 AERO, and 3 series are both great cars, personally I think if the bmw was a 325i the Saab would have passed it. and I also think it WAS a 335i because the Saab didnt pass it. Thats not a 335i. The 335i is one of the fastest stock cars around 300hp, no Saab with 280hp is able to catch up with the BMW Twin Turbo. Simply Physics can tell.... Or read magazines:)!

mr or miss Ihnobino. Please read the information about this video. I'm tired of people posting comments that this is not a BMW 335i. As you clearly can see the BMW has one exhaust pipe on the right side and one exhaust pipe on the left side. That means it's either e 335i or 335d. When I later on passed the BMW i read 335i.
This is a BMW 335i NO DOUBT.

@vdb29 if they are fairly large and on both sides of the rear then chances are its a 335i unless its a custom exhaust for a lesser model. A 325 does not have anywhere near the same size exhaust tips as a 335.

@ihnobino Physics tell us that a car with a lower aerodinamic coef. needs less power to achieve higher speeds starting at 60mph so the 9-3 has a natural advantage at 130mph which compensates the lack of power against 335i.. besides a 325i has 50hp and 100lb/ft less than this 93..

Well i dont know what condition your car is in. But i know those 7 series are VERY heavy...I think something is not right with your car. I eat em up with no problems. The only saab who ever pulled on me was my friends old saab 9000 turbo with upgraded turbo and 330 hp...I had a Saab aero as a company car with 250 hp for 6 months..That thing is slow.
