  • Wow, this is one amazing looking spider :) .

  • what size is that Tank/Terrarium??

and, do you recommend big plastic bins for these T's?

  • @Jaredr781 10 Gallon tank should do the trick. These spiders are terrestrial.

  • it's cool from a distance.. no close ups lol

  • DAMN NATURE YOU SCARY

  • she'll fling her hair in your eyes? is she a ninja spider????

  • My rule of thumb is if you need to keep it in a cage, it's not a pet.

  • @tkoizumi sorry to say but if you feed it and take care of it (its a pet) just saying no being sarcastic just putting it out there :)

  • @tkoizumi SO THEN A DOG IS NOT A PET? IT IS KEPT IN A HOUSE (LARGE CAGE), THE CAR (MOBILE CAGE) OR IN THE YARD (OUTSIDE CAGE). IF YOU FEED IT, PROTECT IT, DON'T EAT IT...IT'S A PET!

  • @tkoizumi Rabbits.

  • beautiful

  • that thing is lame -_-

  • thumbs up if you tapped the scream to getthe damn thing to move.

  • I wonder why it's called white knee.. -.-

  • IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII want one.

  • WOW I wan't one I collect mostly spiders and some scorpion but I want to have this white knea because I love these patterns Like my red knea I love them

  • So your dog gave birth to a puppy AND 5 lizards!?! I have to see this dog! Just pulling your leg. I have about 500 tarantulas, over 200 species and I would never get ridof even one. I love them and each one is a great source of entertainment. But, I also raised chimps, lions, tigers, bears, baboons, llamas, camels and snakes, among other critters in the past.

  • I like but..... no just my bearded dragon thanks :)

  • it is very pretty but i will stick with my bearded dragon and 2 akitas thank you :)

  • Yes they're very docile! But if you try and hold it it will shoot hairs into your eyes but OTHER than that!

  • Hey how come no ones saying im not going to Brazil ,every one of our Australian spider clips people are like ooooooooooo and ahhhhhhhhh but no one saying i aint going to south america.

  • idiot

  • That's just beautiful. I've got a tarantula, and it's not for petting; It's for looking at. They're really amazing animals.

  • 0:53 Peter Parker as in spiderman.lol

  • 1:53 Peter parker as in spiderman. lol

  • i could swear that some spiders can do instant transmission O.o damn they move fast

  • if that fucking thing escaped and got lost in my room i would shit my pants.

  • can i borrow it 2 leave in a friends bed for 1 very interesting night that ive already been threatened to be killed if i do this so now i feel obligated to do so.

  • that is absolutely fucking terrifying for me.

  • Did you record this with a toaster?

  • whats the fucking point of having this as a pet? it's a wild animal..

  • @thedumbasschannell

It's hardly different than having fish as a pet; the purpose is simply to be able to watch as they would behave in their natural habitat which is often very enjoyable. All of my tarantulas were bred in captivity by other enthusiasts and the amount of wild-caught specimens is declining within the hobby. The simplicity of their care, affordability, and beauty makes them excellent pets for many people. Irresponsible owners give the hobby a bad rep, not the tarantulas.

  • @spidamidget that's a scary fucking fish.

  • @spidamidget what ever happened to getting a dog as a pet. spiders are creepy man very creepy

  • @alexkamrock

I have three dogs (one just gave birth to a single puppy yesterday!) and five lizards as well. I love all animals for what they are and I'm not limited to only tarantulas in preference, but they are my main interest. Tarantulas are peculiar and have their own many unique characteristics which attract me through curiosity and their aggressive disposition makes them a spectacle at feeding time. That being said, there's really few things in life better than petting a dog or a cat.

  • @spidamidget lol dude im a sissy, i have this messed up phobia thats really playing with my head. its not Arachnophobia because im not really scared of scorpions i think there cool and i've held a couple. only spiders man, i cant even breathe if one touches me. just looking at it gives me goosebumps.

any idea on how to get over it?

  • @spidamidget This is a very pretty (probably a bad choice of word) spider, cool vid. Maybe a stupid question, but i presume its bite is deadly?

  • @PlaydohMonkey123

Not a stupid question at all! In reality, no tarantula bite is deadly and there has never been a reported case of a death from one. Interestingly enough, species such as this one which originate from South America hardly ever inject venom when they bite in the first place. Their size and a few other factors relinquish the need for the use of venom in pretty much all cases, even in defense. Species from the Old World have worse venom, but the major symptom is simply pain.

  • @alexkamrock

how much did u pay for her??

  • @alexkamrock Is it fun to watch a dog eat? Can you go outside and find food for your dog in your yard?

  • @DanBrino i step on every spider i see.

  • @alexkamrock

    Spiders are rad.

  • @alexkamrock i have a dog, chineese dwarf hamster...and also a red bearded dragon, a motley corn snake and a mexican red knee tarantula. i love my dog to bits she is a staff pup and has no common sence, but they are VERY domesticated, when you get a lizard snake, spider whatever it may be (even some cats haha) there still wild and dont work to please you, you just sit watch and enjoy nature from around the world in your own home. Dan

  • @spidamidget I'm really curious about pet tarantulas - mostly because they don't seem to be as aggressive as other spiders? Maybe it's just because they're slower moving, ha ha.

Anyway, why don't tarantulas bite when they're held? I'd be scared to death of touching one!! Are they venomous if they do bite? Sorry about all the questions - I'd just like to learn. :)

  • @spidamidget

    yes.. very good explanation...

  • @thedumbasschannell everything is a wild animal

  • @thedumbasschannell I wouldn't like a spider as a pet either. Perhaps in a terrarium yes, Yes, yes I know, you keep this one in a terrarium (Not you thedumb...)

  • @thedumbasschannell so was every other domesticated animal at one point!

  • @8lu3m00n007 this comment is over a month old. i don't give a fuck.

    go play with your spiders.

  • @thedumbasschannell aren't humans who raise and then kill animals for food the wild ones?

  • @Frontlinecool no, it's called natuire you fuckin redneck vegan.

  • @Frontlinecool humans are mammals. just another part of the animal kingdom. if you think eating cows is bad look at some of the behavior exhibited by other primates in nature. some of them murder (kill for something other than food), some resort to cannibalism for no apparent reason, male lions even eat their own young, etc. there is nothing wrong with eating meat, the main problem i see with our modern society's food is the large scale of industrialized ranching and farming.

  • @Frontlinecool in my perfect world it would be kill your own/grow your own.

  • would you be able to lift it if you wore gloves? I want a pet tarantula but i would love to hold it or touch it!

  • @CandyCorn123456

Yes, I can hold her if I wear gloves. However, their size, speed and temper make this a difficult and unsafe tarantula to handle and is not a very good example of a beginner species. There are much more docile and slow-moving species out there that can be handled very easily and are perfect for people who want their first tarantula to be more of an interactive pet. Hand protection is not needed for these species although they may still possess the sharp hairs on their abdomen.

  • @spidamidget i had a tarantula once. it was a brownish grey color. it escaped under the floorboards of my house though... or so my parents say...

  • @spidamidget even if you wore a glove, if they do try to bite you won't their fangs be able to pierce through anyway?

  • @TheWofye

The purpose of wearing gloves would be to simply give some protection against the urticating hairs on their abdomen which rub off onto your skin and cause irritation. Tarantulas are far less inclined to take a bite out of the surface that they're walking on and as long as you're careful about making sudden movements, it is highly unlikely that you will get bitten once it's on your hand. I don't personally handle my T's very often and I only wear gloves in specific situations.

  • @CandyCorn123456 if its not aggresive and doesn't arritate you then go nuts and get one, do some research first though

  • fucking beautiful

  • geniculata!! great species!! love em!!

list of good ones to keep for beginners:

Brachypelma, smithi, vagans, emilia, albopilosum, angustum

    Avicularia versicolor, avicularia, hurriana, metallica

    Grammostola pulchra, fossor, actaeon, aureostriata

there are others, but this list..for the most part ...they are easy to get and fairly cheap.

  • lololololololololololololololo

  • i used to hold mine even with the hairs, really irritating but worth it :p pretty much like fiberglass lol ^^

  • nice t u have there :)

  • My boyfriend wants a pet tarantula because our landlord has one...(I told him if he gets one I'm sleeping outside). I don't mind spiders as long as I know where they are, but as soon as they surprise me I just freak out. I was sitting on the couch one day and a fuckin spider suddenly appeared in front of my face (he was dangling from the ceiling). I've never moved so fast in my life xD

  • @CamiR092991

This is the case for most people when it comes to spiders, even myself. On the other hand, keeping them in a locked terrarium is an entirely different story. The best cure in my opinion for the fear of spiders is to keep a tarantula as a pet. Even the people who are usually terrified of arachnids will come to appreciate them as more than just a bug and many get their second one within the same month or two. It's an interesting, fun, and cheap hobby that nearly anyone can enjoy.

  • @spidamidget Hehe, tell that to my sister, she has arachnophobia in the worst way. It didn't help when she was cleaning the kitchen counter off and a big one leapt into her shirt (from the counter). I don't think she'd ever forgive me if I did get a tarantula. I do appreciate that they are very beautiful creatures (this one and the cobalt blue ones are very pretty), but I like having "interactive" pets. Also, I don't think I could feed them without getting sick or feeling bad for the food :/

  • @CamiR092991 You shoulda told him if he gets one HE'S sleeping outside. O.O

And that's really funny, my friend is deathly afraid of spiders and he thought he saw one on my bed.He flipped out and ran away, holding a sword in his hand for protection and then he went and sat in the living room in n a chair and then saw an actual spider on the ceiling above him. He froze and said my name and I looked up and laughed my ass off... I got up on a chair and squished it for him. =.= Him the big macho man

  • @CamiR092991

Damn. That run to the kitchen musta been SCARY!

  • @rminitials You know, it's funny because that's where I hid for the rest of the day. Yay for laptops!

  • @CamiR092991 I Thought the same when i was diving @ the shore of croatia and a 2 Metres Long Fat Ass fish appeared in front of my face.

U say dolphins are fast? I dont think so !

  • she is absolutely gorgeous <3

  • wow she looks awesome...put on some saftey glasses or pick it up under some glass heh

  • he beutiful

  • awesome!!! I'm getting a taranchula i hope it looks like that lol

  • I used to want to live in Brasil. Then, I saw this video.

  • Spiders are a bit creepy but can actually be a good thing to have around do to the fact that they kill other bugs that you wouldn't want around such as ants and mosquitoes.. wish i had more spiders here cause there is alot of ants around my home :/

  • im soo scared of spiders -__- it scares me to look @ them but i wish i wasn't cuz i'd want one as a i pet :p

  • OMG love it i want a mexican red knee there so beautiful!

  • I am brasilian and i got a tarantula,My mom tells me to not touch her because the hair gonna burn me, Do you have any advice for this kind of tarantula.

  • My family has had pet trantulas for years but we got rid of them because we were uncertain of how they would handle the climate here in Colorado.

One was given to us by a friend who found it god-knows-where. It's VERY unpredictable. It's actually kind of calm, but sometimes she acts agressive and makes certain movements as if she's about to charge or attack. Like a Split-Personality almost.

Do you have any advice of how I can handle this one? It's VERY diffrerent from the others we had.

  • @gryphonlover13

I'm going to assume that by "handling" you mean interacting with it by letting it walk outside of its enclosure and/or holding in your hands. I suggest doing neither of these things if you feel that the tarantula's unpredictable personality could harm itself or you, the responsible owner. Having said that, the safest way to handle ones like yours is to test their temperament first by lightly touching the abdomen with a soft device such as a paintbrush before you pick it up.

  • @gryphonlover13

    (continuing from previous reply)

If your tarantula doesn't put up a threat display after being gently prodded, it may be safe for you to safely move it onto your hand. Lay one hand down a few inches in front of the spider and prod it with the same device that you used before with your other hand. Once you have it in your hand, keep it as low to the ground as possible so that if the tarantula decides to run it won't fall and injure itself (it may help to be in a spacious room).

  • @gryphonlover13 there`s a possibility that it is not domestic.

  • manero

  • Sorry mate but i have to write this: KILL IT WITH FIRE!

  • the little speech captions are cute, she prob was thinking some of those things

  • how many of you jumped when you watched this

  • Do it excrete dung and urine like humans do O.o?

  • Spider Humor!

  • Its nice to see some one with an exotic pet that clearly did home work before getting one. She's got nice colors bro. Arachnids aren't for me but I hate seeing pictures and vids of people neglecting them. :/

  • Explain to me how are these good pets? You don't even know if they like humans :D

  • @MrAlala911

Tarantulas in terms of pets are essentially no different than keeping tropical fish. For the most part they're just something to put on display with a "hands off" approach. They're interesting to observe as they venture out of their retreat in the evening and exciting to watch as they hunt down prey as they would in the wild. They have long life spans, they're very cheap to maintain, and require very little effort from their owner. It's not for everyone, but they make great pets.

  • @spidamidget

Well fish are also a stupid thing to have as a pet. Maybe its just my thing, but im not someone who can just stare at fish or tarantulas. I have other stuff to do. But if i had to choose which one i would rather admire, fish or this monster, i would choose the tarantula. But i would never take one as a pet.

  • @spidamidget so i should hold my goliath trantuala he isnt bit me to hard yet

  • @MrKennethowns

I strongly advise against handling large terrestrial species, particularly Goliaths. It poses risks not only to yourself from being bitten but also to the tarantula from risk of falling and getting injured. They also have some of the most painful urticating hairs of any species, easily turn defensive when spooked, and can be very quick considering their size. It's up to you as a responsible owner to decide if you want to handle it. If you do, make it brief and not very often.

  • mr. boot, meet Jeffery. Jeffery, meet your insides

  • dude i live in brazil and while i watched other vids i was like great no scary spiders here but after READING BRAZILIAN WHITE KNEE TARATULA STUNNING I AM AFRAID OF SLEEPING!

  • you SPRAY IT?? youre not supposed to do that. its painful to them, she runs right? i had my tank insulated with a small heater at the bottom, it made the tank steamy-like. they need that to be able to shed/molt.

  • @Mistysworld1

I don't spray her directly with water, the target is the substrate so that the humidity can be kept at moderate levels throughout the day. Even if I do get some water on her, it doesn't cause her harm in any way although it might surprise her a bit. I generally frown upon the use of under-tank heaters because they create "hotspots" which can stress the tarantula out if it can't maintain an ideal temperature within its retreat.

  • @spidamidget and can cause them to burrow in the substrate to cool down but then you have the heat mat under it which will cause them to cook to a crisp.

  • Wow I usaully dont like archnids aside from scorpions but this ........is...........STUNNING! Literally Beautiful!! I would get one but my mom would freak out and jump across the world.D:

  • ive got a mexican red knee and a chile rose and they are non agressive

  • If i had one dollar for every pixel that is in this video, I'd have one dollar.

  • OMGGG! OMFGGGG RUNN OMFGGGG!!!!!

  • That's a big ol' stripey spider.

  • Your A. genic is stunning. mine is currently only about 3inch leg span, cant wait until mine gets like yours!

Mines called Xhana and shes super mean xD

  • @J3WB4G1991

Yeah, they're one of the most beautiful species in the hobby in my opinion. Mine just molted in Febuary and she now has an 8.5" leg span... Bigger than my T. blondi and more defensive too LOL

  • @spidamidget awh man i really cant wait til mine get to 8.5" and yeh mine is def one of the prettiest in my little collection :)

  • DAMN NATURE U SCARY!!!!!!

  • -SQUISH-

  • I am seriously freaked out by spiders, especially since we lived in Australia for a year... But I could watch good videos like this one hours on end... Maybe just to tame the fear? I know I'm not scared of scorpions, and I've killed a poisonous snake before (I had no choice, Brazil is Brazil... poor thing, so beautiful...) Anyway, thanks for the vids

  • @giselecarioca

I'd say that's normal for pretty much everyone. It's one thing to have a large tarantula running across your bathroom floor, but when they're behind glass you can really admire them for how beautiful they are. It's actually a dream of mine to go to Australia and simply explore for insects and spiders, yet I'd still be paranoid about one being in my bedsheets or something. No matter how much I fear them or even if I get bitten, they'll always have a special place in my heart. :)

  • @spidamidget

Well, I've had two close (too close!) encounters with huntsmen... I have never been so scared and yet amaezd by a craeture that could jump my height (I was 8 then) while agonizing... My grandmother didn't want it around, so to speak... Australia is one of the mot breathtaking countries I have been to, and home to some of the most venomous species on Earth.

I do hope you do go there, and enjoy the beauties nature has to offer.

  • @spidamidget There's a reason Australia is listed uner "Real Life" examples of a "Deathworld" on TVTropes ;)

  • @giselecarioca So sad. Hope that wasnt in Australia. You should never have to kill a snake.

  • Your tarantula is beautiful . My daughter had a rose hair for 15 years , we all loved her , they are amazing and wonderful pets .

  • i have one and he is a little shit!

  • Is this a brocklehursti or a geniculata?

  • @lungfixer

    Acanthoscurria geniculata.

  • Gorgeous <3

  • I'm arachnaphobic... and I'm watching this.... I have no clue why. e.e

  • @SlipknotxSnuffx me too >.< i wanna tarantula though ... weird..

  • i want a tarantula but ya again ''mom said''

  • I bought a rose hair tarantula a few days ago and i'm new to the tarantula industry, but yesterday the tarantula was hanging on the wall and somewhat it fell to the bottom of the tank, is there something wrong with my tarantula not getting it's grip?

  • @kev485

Firstly, make sure that your tarantula did not injure herself from the fall.

Rose hair tarantulas (Grammostola rosea) absolutely hate even the slightest bit of moisture in the substrate. This is likely the reason why she was climbing on the side of her enclosure in the first place so you may need to dry it out, but always keep water available in a wide shallow dish. Her grip is fine, they use hooks on the ends of their legs to help climb but they will slip and fall on smooth surfaces.

  • He/she is very pretty

  • well then wear safty goggles dumbass! pussy id kill that piece of shit!

  • woah its beuatiful

  • I would say that i am scared of spiders .. I think .. I could sit and look at these video and think that the tarantulas are beautifull .. Im not sure if i could hold one due to 2 reasons i mite get spooked or something and 2 i mite harm it by getting spooked .. But very interesting creatures ...

  • @TheresaQ93

That's completely normal for anyone, even people such as myself who have cared for large spiders for years. Tarantulas are in many aspects similar to tropical fish in the sense that it's best to simply admire them through glass and leave them alone. I also think that it's very respectable of you to consider the safety of the creature as well as your own, it's very important to respect these animals for what they are. Irresponsible owners are the leading cause of captive T's.

  • @spidamidget Thanks dude :D

  • @spidamidget woah thats cool and clever of u to say

  • what a beauty

  • is this type a good first tarantula? my little brother want's a tarantula and i told him I'd get him one

  • @eques101

Yes, I'd reccomend this T for beginners along with any of it's relatives from the genus "Acanthoscurria". This species in particular is often uncommon to find for sale, though. I'd also reccomend any species from the genera "Avicularia" (pinktoe tarantulas), "Brachypelma" (Mexican red knee and other relatives), and Grammostola (Rose Hairs and Curly hairs specifically). Personally my favorite beginner's T is probably Eupalaestrus campestratus, the Pink Zeba Beauty.

  • @spidamidget Acanthoscurria are not good for beginners at all.Very large and aggressive. Also, Curlyhairs are not part of the Grammostola genus. It is of the Brachypema species.Noob.

  • @limepig40rock

I'm just speaking from my personal experiences here. All three of my Acanthoscurria species are sweethearts, but perhaps I just got lucky.

Thanks for the correction on the Curlyhair too. For some reason whenever I think of the Curlyhair I think of G. Pulchripes for some reason as opposed to B. Albopilosum. Not sure why. Gotta love Chacos too. ^^

  • @eques101 No it's for experience owners as they have a nervous behaviour. They will kick hairs and bite if threatened. I have one and is amazing. Is your brother allergic to venom? If so, I don't recommend a Tarantula as the venom can cause a dangerous reaction. The best T's to get are Chiliean Rose, Red Knee, FireLeg, Curly Hair, or the Pink Toe

  • is your name peter parker by any chance? if so stay away from spiders LOL

  • its not just trantulas that are amazing also your average garden spider is wild to watch :)

  • filma da tv é foda seu nb
