He is a very good drummer and a smart guy by putting his you tube video series ,communicates well , his drums are miked ok ,but if I were him Id trigger the kick with an Alesis Dm5,D4 or Roland module so the mix would sound a little better ...its all in the mix ,

This is an opinion but I think that kit sounds like crap. It sounds like you took all the drums out of the box and just started playing on them with no tuning or anything. It could just be a taste thing....but I don't know.

Drummers are supposed to be positive. I always admire the guys that while they are not that good, willingly post clips of themselves for all to see. That takes confidence. Confidence is the one element that will make a drummer great or crash and burn. This guy however, has pocket. And you can't fuck with pocket. chops and speed don't mean a fucking thing if they can't be executed with a deep pocket.
