  • Why so many dislikes? Killer riffs man, killer sound. Im blown away that a jsx mini combo sounds like that!

  • @takitezy7 Yeah, to me, gear tryouts, or tests don't seem like a "like/dislike" sort of thing. I've always been puzzled by some people's strong negitive reactions to my amp tryout videos. I mean this really is not meant as a showpeice of my skills, it's just a sample of what the gear sounds like.

  • everyone's a critic. not my kind of music - but let the guy play what he wants and stop giving him a bunch of shit.

  • theres a bogner behind you, just to let you know :P

  • ma una prova con un chitarrista vero è possibile?non si capisce che suono abbia questo amplificatore

  • well I'm a big Satch fan... but Mini C. sounds like shit on a clean channel, when distorted - really cool, but anyway still has no low frequences. But maybe the reason was I had an european version, i mean 230v. Joe uses some kind of equalization together with MC, that's for sure

  • No way tenacious D was playing the mini Satch? LOL

  • The mini colossal is good but waaaaaaaaay overpriced eh?

  • Yup, you could buy a Peavey 100 watt head (VK100 or Windsor) for the same price. For less money we decided the Windsor Studio Combo was the better deal for me.

  • Nice one :)

  • you can say that again

  • can you play anything other than shitty metal?

  • Yes I can actually.

  • do not dis the metal

    what do you play inde?

  • "the metal will strike you down with a vicious blow"

    Tenacious D

    XD

  • I've really got to start listening to more from Tenacious D.

  • that was from "The Metal" just so you know XD great song i think

  • I wonder if it would open up if you ran it through a cab.

  • Hm, I didn't try that. I wonder if it even has that option...Something to research.

  • Yah, it's got a 4, 8, and 16 ohm output.

  • I think your right. I thought the tone of the amp was good. Just small sounding. Like it was being played through a plastic am radio. I'm sure a cab would make it sound great. However, I need a combo amp that sounds good on it's own. The other thought I had was that this thing almost costs the same as a VK100 head. That might be an "apples vs. oranges" comparison though.

  • I bought one and it definitely does open up through a 4x12. Only problem is it couldn't do metal if it's life depended on it.

All in all I'd still say it's a very cool amp. Lots of features and can do vintage tones perfectly.

  • Good to know, but it doesn't suit my need for a decent combo amp since I don't want to lug around a 4/12 when I go somewhere. I have my valveking for that.

  • Having said that; I'd still love to hear it on the 4x12. You should demo it here if you have the time.

  • do you have a video of your valveking?? i just wanna hear it XD

  • what if you ran a tube screamer in front of it?

  • Yah, I've been experimenting with my Maxon Od808.

It can get to metal territory and sound passable if you're just jamming. I don't think I'd use it to record metal, though.

    Still an awesome amp.

  • lol... i ran my crappy danalectro metal pedal in front of it and it worked perfectly. only problem is that its waaaay out of my price range

  • Man, it sounds really "small" I would expect more from an amp that cost almost $500.

  • It actually sounded smaller in real life. In a strange way the cheap mic on the cam sort of helped it. It was less than expected for sure.
