@joejumps4fun You just import your audio like everything else and drag and drop it into the composition. To preview it with the video playing aswell press '0' on the numpad and to preview just the audio press '.' on the numpad.

hey when i was doing this, something screwed up along the way and when i zoom in on the text in after effects it looses its quality unbearably and when i use continually rastorize i simply wont change size or position from the original, what am i doing wrong?

@WyattDeS if you zoom more than 100% on view, it wont ever ever ever be crisp. If you up the scale though however, with continually rasterize, it should always be crisp.

When I import the layers from to AE, their duration is 00:00:03 (3 microseconds)

How do I make sure that they will come with a bigger duration?

Q#2: is it possible to change the font color after you've brought in the layers from AI - I've tried to edit it and whatnot various ways & nothing happens. It almost seems like its treating it as an image file.... even the layer icons arent orange but an 'image' icon D:

Great tutorial, its very simple yet informative. Just a quick question - I've started the AI method because i have a lot of text- after all layering etc. once i bring it into AE i find the individual words when you click on them to move them around - dont have that "tight" individual box around it (ie. @ 5:30) rather is as large as the screen& blue its really hard to click on the words without it picking up the one thats on the top layer....:S not sure if i missed something but its irritating..

Two questions. First, why did you create the original text in Word then cut/paste into AI instead of creating it in AI to begin with? Second, for a longer audio track, would you create a separate AE composition for each phrase or sentence, then put all of the comps together? Thanks again.

@YoshBear Yes I just copied and pasted it in to AI but you can do it either way what ever you like. As for longer audio files it just depends on how fast your computer is. It will get to a point when it is faster to brake it up and animate a few different parts.

For my stephen fry video I did each letter as individualized compositions.
