  • This truck probably flipped over 1 million miles and started counting again to 50,000 miles. They were built like tanks.

  • I love the lobe sound of that 454.

  • #3

  • the transmission on the 1973-1987 Chevrolet Silverado

    Transmission

    3-speed THM-350 automatic

    3-speed THM-400 automatic

    4-speed 700R4 automatic

    3-speed Saginaw manual

    4-speed Saginaw Muncie SM465 manual

4-speed New Process NV833 overdrive manual

  • What a beast! This thing could pull down a house and not even break a sweat.

  • i could listen to that thing idle all day

  • damnnnn, that thing makes modern trucks look like pussies

  • now I know why US gov had to invade iraq & afghanistan..

  • mom pleas

i promise i will clean my room

    lol

  • @21e55d09 LOl Just remember that these trucks are thirsty motherfuckers, at a red light rev a bit and its 20 dollars right there gone! XD

  • @thecarguy1254 ya you said it!

It need new paint and it would have been better to have manual windows and locks

  • Ash trays in the back, just awesome

  • Back when Trucks were Trucks!

  • wish trucks were like this again..... but being fuel efficient XD

  • @LordKevin92

You know, there ways around that of makin' a trcuk this fuel effiecent if you know what I mean.

  • Put some flowmasters on that big block!!

  • My dad owned one of these, except it was a manual, and my mom would always take the truck to work, especially if she was running late because she just loved driving the truck. She got lots of speeding tickets in it haha

  • Now thats a truck!

  • the 3 dislikes in this video must be some piece of shit ford fans

  • @bigwill698 they from toyota and honda fans

  • @tortasmexico9 *they are

  • What a Mean Sounding Truck! Love it

  • Now Thats What I Call A Truck

  • I love a car with a column shifter.

  • Wow, the idle sure is low on that one!

  • What is the MPG on these?

  • @christich99 1970's with with a carb, you're looking at 7 to 9 mpg if lucky.

1980's EFI is 9 to 10 mpg, and the 90's Vortec EFI system is 10 to 13mg. Overall the're pretty shitty on gas, But I own an 88 C30 and let me tell you. Never underestimate these Big Block gassers. They have great power, and there still cheaper than buying a new Duramax.

  • @jdog942 What does EFI mean?

  • @christich99 Electronic Fuel Injection. It's a computer that decides how much fuel to inject into the motor.

  • @jdog942 What about a 1983-1990 S-10 Extended Cab?

  • @christich99 Depends, V4 or V6. You're looking at an on average 22mpg ranging with in that 10 year span with the V6.

  • @jdog942 That is not too bad, is it? Do you know what it is on a 1978-1987 El Camino?

  • @christich99.......Yes that is ok mpg, but get a modern S-10 for better fuel economy. Why would you think an El Camino be any better on Gas? The El Camino was manufactured with Big Block and small Block V8's. Your average 350 small block Camino gets around 15mpg city, 18mpg highway.

  • @jdog942 Sorry, I was just asking. What would be a good first vehicle for someone who likes the 1980's Chevy's and is just learning to drive?

  • @christich99 If you like small or midsize Chevy models, then get an S10. If you want to go bigger, then you can get a C/10 which comes with a V8 or V6. If you're into cars then get what you feel like. The real question is how much money you're willing to put into your first car or truck. I'm going to be selling my C30 soon, because a job at Chipotle isn't going to feed it's tank forever. Overall, it's a matter of personal preference, and budget. Good luck on picking your first ride.

  • @jdog942 I messed up. I did not really mean learning to drive. I'm 12 and I'm really into Chevys. I like to think about what I should get for my first vehicle. I'm thinking an S-10 Extended Cab would be perfect. What do you think about that?

  • @christich99 Go for it. Those S-10's are rock solid, great on gas, and are optional on Manual or Auto. Not to mention cheap to buy,and take care of. No shame in owning an S10. As long as you don't make fun of Dodge or Ford guys, you'll be alright.

  • @jdog942 Thanks. I'll remember that when I'm old enough to get my first vehicle.

  • @jdog942 I had a 94 S-10 Blazer Tahoe Trim. It was a nice truck, good power too.

  • Beautiful

  • Ultimate truck right there.. Just needs some paint, other than that, I would not change a single thing.

  • why are all the people who do these videos sound like geeks and dont know anything about cars

  • @duramaxjad4 dont watch then!

  • piece of junk

  • be nicer with a fresh paint job

  • Thats when a truck was a TRUCK

  • not a bad truck at all

  • this truck is NICE, it's too bad it has an automatic. i wish i could have one

  • I had the exact same truck only mine was an 1983. Also was maroon red, ended up getting a 1997 Red Chevy Dually....my personal favorite. They don't build them like that anymore. I remember moving a giant palm tree with mine. Those trucks were unstopable.....bad mpg, I remember but still a great truck.

  • @Travisjcjunky i am only 18 and know they deninitly do not good trucks any more bring back the hard working gass hogs

  • @Travisjcjunky How bad was the MPG?

  • @joeboi85 In mine, I got about 8-10 MPG. It's hard to get those to get much better.

  • that things badass

  • Yeah The Truck Is 7.4L Turbo Diesel ^^

  • I got a friebd has this one with 357k miles he bought a 06 f250it died before this one so sad

  • Now, these are REAL trucks.

This was when trucks were built like TANKS.

  • @blackandgold51 I love old trucks for the looks but if i was gonna tow over 10,000lbs id defiantly would want a new truck they handle better tow better ride better and the comfort is better

  • Yeap, thats one good looking truck for a hillbilly!

  • truck was a diesel

  • i don't like this truck at alllllllll!!!!1

  • If it werent for the sidesaddle crap, I would tooooootally love this truck! Something about it is so....manly.

  • straight up how much?

  • is it yours and if so rare you interested in selling it

  • This truck is almost like the one Riggs drove in Lethal Weapon 1. Except I think it was the GMC version.

  • @eldo59 yeah and it literally pulled a house down lol

  • Comment removed

  • awesome truck. sounds fucking sweet

  • Those exhaust pipes must be so restricting for that big block!

  • How many does it spend in gas??

  • Comment removed

  • @nfschido A 454 will get roughly 8 -10 mpg

  • @Mycoxaflopin81 depends on how you drive it, if you always floor it, then yeah, if you drive it easy you can get more.

  • Sounds like a harley at the pipes lol

  • i had one diesel 6.2, i was in love for my truck. chevy is the best.

  • Awesome truck but I bet it's a killer on gas

  • Damn this 454 sounds almost exactly like a 6.2L diesel. Only noticible difference is you don't hear the injectors knocking sound up front.

  • chug chug chug chug chug chug lol

  • this thing is boss

  • That truck was once a diesel, either that or someone changed the dash.

  • That probably gets like, 5 gallons to the mile.

  • @punkmonkey123 I own an 88, mine gets 12mpg highway, and 10mpg city unloaded.

  • @jdog942 I was being facetious, but that honestly doesn't seem any better, unless you have an actual use for your truck. I understand owning one of these if you work in heavy construction or constant hauling of things back and forth but I know more people with duallies who just buy them for daily drivers, which I will never understand with gas prices being as high as they are and parking spaces becoming smaller and smaller.

  • @punkmonkey123 So true, I absolutley hate it when people go buy a big Duramax dually, or a Cummins, and they just use it to commute back and foward to places.

  • @jdog942

What if they sincerely love the truck? I have a K5 Blazer with a 6.2L diesel, it already had an 8 inch lift, I swapped both dana 44's for Dana 60's and converted it into a dually, It's never seen snow, trails or work. I just really loved the look, and the idea of driving a dually. Does that mean you hate me too for not beating the shit out of my truck like the guys on a construction site?

  • like the exhast

  • I would only buy that truck for the truck because those motors are junk, chevy took their standard 454cubic inch gas block and built a diesel motor around it, they crack, through rods, blow head gaskets, and catch fire ALL THE TIME! Absolutly amazing truck though

  • you're out of gas.

  • It could have 53k on it but i dout it. It problably rolled over a few times. if so then i have 32k on my truck not 432k

  • Dually

  • That shally nice but mine is better!

  • i want it just because of the sound

  • its always the older engines that sound the best

  • you never see them anymore

  • The clear coat paint and the interior are a little worn, but not too bad for a truck that is 25 years old.

  • Damn 53k miles that's great for a truck that old even for not being a everyday truck

  • Does it have a 454? or a 350?

  • @KylesFavoriteJams 7.4 is a 454

  • sweet truck!!!

  • that is a awsom truck! lol love it because it is a chevy! best truck ever

  • just bought my dream truck, an 80's silverado 454 crew dually! Man i love these trucks! - 85 gmc sierra 454 crew dually dougs headers / magnaflow exhaust, chrome everywhere. gotta love these trucks.

  • dont know if anyone else has mentioned this or not, but you need to learn these things dont have an electric shut off on the starter (hence the winding noise after it is started) not trying to be a dick. and there is a / under the speedo. that means it has 153k.

  • did they ever make a diesel model??

  • i had one and the gas mileage sucked

  • @ThePeterbilt1979 imagine that

  • @slowride55 thats why its my farm truck now:)

  • @ThePeterbilt1979 Haha perfect job :D

  • That thing is huge, gas mileage has to be a motherfucker

  • @xRAMxDOD depends on your gears and tranny. good working gears and auto...8mpg

highway gears and a 4 speed up to 12

    My 86 dually gets 8-12 with a built 350

  • @lostbuffalo haha, but thats a huge ass truck, that wouldnt fit in my garage, i bet it dosent fit in yours?

  • @xRAMxDOD prolly not, my garage is 22 feet deep. my ford extended cab barely fits

  • @xRAMxDOD I have an 86 chevy dually but it's a standard cab. actually its a c20 that i swapped dually hubs and axle into. it had a dually box and someone put wheel adapters on it to get the dually wheels on... I wanted it done right. my 6.2 diesel went bad I'm running a 350 right now but might put in another diesel. thing is...i like romping on it. the 350 i have is putting out over 300 ponies and it flat out scoots once you get off the line with the 3.21 gears.

    I have a 389 pontiac i might try.

  • Sounds like a harley.

  • @Stereophile11 when i heard it start i thought my uncle pulled up on HIS harley lol

  • THis is when trucks were trucks!

  • its huge love it!!

  • sounds like a beast !!

  • Id like 4 a truck like this!!!

  • to bad the fucked up the power output of V8s in the 80s because of the emissions bs

  • @floppycock9 swap out for a roller cam and high compression heads and you're good to make 300+ horse at least :)

  • That thing is a beast!

  • Nothing says 1986 Chevy Silverado like red velvet seats!

  • dam nice sounding truck

  • Beatiful and awsome car!!

  • woww awesome

  • wish they made them like still

    nice video kyle:)

  • Want. Can't find here in Houston thanks to CFC.

  • @TheUnNerved What gets me angry about C4C is the fact that the population was stupid enough to fall for it. Yes it was a dumb move on the Gov't but at least they weren't holding a gun to anyone's head saying you have to scrap your old proud car. I blame the idiots who are actually stuck with a car payment now.

  • hello. if you want to sell the car, please give me a privat message. thx

  • is it four wheel drive

  • @keco28 no the c stands for 2wd. K stands for 4x4

  • Sorry but the paint is messed up !

  • @InToTheBlue71 b/c old as hell

  • This truck sounds WAY better than those EXTREMELY INFURIATING Fucking "Jap-Scrap" 4 cylinder "Rice Burners"!!! I bet you could probably do some INCREDIBLY BADASS burnouts in this baby!!!

  • I tell you Baby this truck sounds BBBAAAAD TO THE BONE!!!! I just love the healthy GRUNT & ROAR of that big ol' 454!!! 100% Pure American Muscle Baby!!! I have a buddy who has a '77 GMC Sierra Classic 454 Crew Cab Dually that he bought new and he uses to go camping, He has a 14 foot Arctic Fox camper on it, He had 3 inch chrome pipes and Cherry Bomb glasspacks installed, He lets me drive it quite often.

  • Thumbs up if you if you turned up your speakers

to hear the part where he starts the truck.

  • I drive this exact truck. except mines an 88.

It would be usefull if it could do better on gas

  • If I were to win the lottery. A truck like this would be the first on my list.

  • I want a c30 like this soooo bad

  • One hell of a truck, to describe it mild

  • i think this truck was built by Uncle Sam himself

  • Haha god she purs nicely! I see some much potential for it. Also that engine has a HELL of alot of life left in er

  • that 454 sounds sweet

  • what a nice time capsule, as good as a 24 year old truck you can find

  • damn that truck sounds sick

  • Badass truck!

  • turn the wheels into monster truck wheels...lol

  • Is this a diesel?

  • @buickboy92

No the 454 V8 is not a diesel

  • 6:27

You are one of only a handful of people who have listened to Coldplay in a 1986 dually Chevy pickup. . . . haha

  • When I was little my Grandma had a Blazer of this era, and when she replaced it with a 96 Tahoe, I refused to ride in it until a few weeks later because I wanted the old Blazer back :P I don't remember any of that, but it's a funny story :D Anyway, great video as always!
