@mxforlife33 that really wouldnt make much of a difference if they had 100cc more because 1) if your fast enough that really wont matter i have seen a kx80 beat up on a cr 500 and 2) the lightness of this bike will make up for the loss of those 100cc
so is this replacing the 250 sx-f? or is it gunna be added to the lineup? its the perfect capacity. lots of torque and nice horsepower but it isnt over the top like KTM's arm shredding head splitting 450 sx-f. this bike might even convert me and many others from 250 2t to 350 f's. jap brands should consider making a 350f.

the linkage is great for motocross,but enduro racing/riding benefit from not having the xtra peices to get hung up and break,otherwise its a nice looking bike the orange frame makes it really pop.but thats a wierd dissplacement to many classes in an economy that cant support the 250/450 4stks and the 125/250 2stks.
You dont have to be a pro to benifit by optimised suspension. Tests repeatedly show that even amature riders gain more speed with precise suspension set up than all other mods put together.
Hamtrak is right, their linkless works "fine". BUT it doesnt work great. All the bikes have seen years of refinment. We are entering an era where "fine" is ok but great is expected. The point is this, with just a few minor adjustments the likless can work great. A few aftermarket copanies that reall kno how have done it. At these prices there is no excuse for the mfgs not to get it very close to great. A link adds unessasary complexity , weight, $.
Nope. 350 to 380 is the ideal overall package. Small enough to rev higher, big enough to have reasionable tourque. Balance as u say IS super important. Balance everywhere, not just the chassy. KTM has very good ideas and they build motors that are the envy of all the mfgs. I am dissapointed that they went to a link though. They never got their linkless design worked out wich is a shame because it likley can work just as well as a link without the addd mass and complexity.
The linkless rear susp. works fine,have you ever ridden a KTM? The pro riders bitch about no link but the average person wouldn't know the difference. I've ridden Suz,Hon,Kaw and the KTM 250 sxf feels no different to me.
The new YZ450F is going to eat this for lunch and spit it out. Going to less power with this 350 is not the answer.....designing a better ballanced bike like the 2010 YZ450F was the right answer. There are lots of guys than can ring out a 450....so why would they want a smaller engine?
the whole reason they have a lite class. sure there are people who use a 450 to its fullest potential, but very, very few. this bike has (close to) the 450 power and the 250 lightweight, theres nothing id rather have.
@LamborghiniV12M Buddy in some of the latest 2010 shootouts the KTM 450 won, and Yamaha got third with the Kawi getting second and the Honda getting last the new Yamaha isn't that great.

I agree. The only reason 250 2s stopped racing in AMA was because of the environmental laws that forced manufacturers to develop environmentally friendly four-stroke technology. The 450 4S was designed to compete with the 250 2S. The manufacturers, having spent millions on development, pushed the 450's by supplying the top AMA riders and the 250's took a back seat. Introduction of the 350 4s class will definately bring back the 250 2s. It has the same power as a 450 so why would you race it?
i think it will race up against the 450s as this is the replacement of the 450s soon after each brand makes there own 350 they will make a new 350 class :)
If its good enough for the King of Motocross its good enough for you.

as on many things, ktm came up with high develped parts...and after a while they become a standard between dirtbike makers.
like making hidraulic brakes & clutch a standard on all models.
I always wondered why don't yamaha honda or kawas make very detailed parts as ktm does...
I'm completely sure that if that 350 is availiable for 2010 I'll sell my 530 to get it.
I hope its weight is some where close to the 250's range.
