  • Keep it up man, sounds great

  • Nice! Look my version! peace!

  • hey man great fricking video and improv for the solo. I'm from Buffalo, NY so it's always nice to know there's a DMB fan in Greece, NY haha...keep it up!

  • nice cover. and nice effects its mixed really well

  • sick

  • Hey, what preset on Guitar rig 4 did you use? Or did you make your own one?

  • It bothers me when people who can play dave stuff on guitar think they're bad ass. I'm not ripping on you personally, because i can't even play guitar. But if you listen to his stuff, it's all horns, vocals, and drums... guitar is kinda a rhythm thing. Idk, a drum cover would have impressed me way more.

  • @ilyilyilynick There is a very distinct guitar part in this particular song.

  • @ilyilyilynick watch dave play the stone, tripping billies, or so much to say. to play those songs alone is tough, let alone sing while you play it.

  • can you tell me what effects did you used? any pedals or something like that? amazing cover althought.

  • no pedals, no amps..I am just plugged straight into my computer with my M-Audio recording interface sound-box...From there i use a program called Acoustica Mixcraft 5 and apply effects within the software's interface (also known as VST plugins). The plug-in i used on my guitar is called Guitar Rig 4 ( virtual amp modeling software) that virtually allows you to choose a wide variety of Amp models, cabinets, and effects to model your guitar towards and sound like "the real deal" that pros endorse.

  • Nicely done! Palm mute the verse

  • Sounds great! Keep doing what you love!

  • tabs?

  • u and mdrummer1805 should get together and jam!

  • are you playing this in drop D?

  • SIIIIIIIICK SON!

  • You are an amazing guitarist. post more videos please. i wanna see more.

  • vicious ending

  • good job!

  • you have a great taste in music, :D

  • You groove pretty hard brother, great job!

  • Love your sound man. I love the Gibson Studio too. What amp and effects are u using?

  • omg. i love you :) dave matthews is my favorite

  • Your a really great guitarist! Have you ever written any original pieces?

  • amazing! i dont give a sh*t what your wearing you were shredding that song up

  • You rock dude! What guitar is that? We wanna see more man!

  • hey can you make tutorial vid for this? i cant find one on youtube

  • That is so cool!

  • you gotta post more videos

  • that is very cool!

  • Dude that is sick! Awesome!!!

  • i have the same guitar just like yours

  • i want to record like this, how do u do it xD

  • damn kid, thats pretty good :]

  • It sounds like you're soloing in the key of D minor...the song is actually in G minor.

  • That is the coolest thing I've ever seen on youtube. My absolute favorite.

  • he wasn't talking about the Alpine as a stereo, he was talking about it as a venue, one of the best I might add. Some people hate it because DMB always puts on great shows there. Saratoga Springs is it's rival venue

  • Well done man.....I play acoustic....never really got into electric but would love to play a mean sounding guitar like that...

    Cheers....

  • not bad. You missed one or two chords...and too much sliding, but generally pretty good.

  • ha what're you pickin the kid apart for? too much sliding, ha get outta here. consider it a 'live' version. and mikegardnertube youre right, he solo-ed in d instead of g. not bad at all

  • i love your account name my two favorite bands. im going to dave this saturday then driving with some kids to NIU to see oar oct 29th.

  • correct, I used the d minor pentatonic scale...

Because i learn from mistakes, the critiquing is actually much appreciated. thanks brassmastah

  • Greaaaaaaat..... You really did it!!! 5*

  • ur the man...

  • f*ckin incredable

however the alpine poster onthe wall suggests you to be my enemy, as i am a man of Saratoga

    i hope you got that

    5stars

  • That a tight, thanks for the video

  • amazing job on the cover ... keep up the good work

  • Comment removed

  • that really is fucking amazing bro...good job!~

  • dude this is an awesome video..best cover ive seen for this song..can u make a video teaching how to play it??

  • I'll see what i can do..

  • Freakin' amazing, bro. Kudos on a bad-ASS- cover! Definitely the best cover of anything off Big Whiskey yet, and it'll probably stay that way for a while. Awesome job! :D

    Cheers.

  • dude awesome on guitar can you do anything else that good on guitar? get at me

  • absolutely... but not for a while though cause my camera is broken.

  • nice man. can u send me a tab or something?

  • nice very nice... i wish i had long fingers like you literally my pointer finger is as long as my pinky...big disadvantage during barre chords

  • Damn dude this was really impressive, you are going places. You did DMB proud.

  • I just took what I could of the video (you are in Drop D, correct?) and basically figured out the whole song, but some assurement would be great with a lesson.

  • Please do!

  • ok thanx man!

  • dang! thats freakin awesome!!

  • Fucking awesome! Best cover I have seen to date.

  • Great guitar cover! =)

  • good stuff dude

  • tabs please!!!!

  • for the solo

  • Sorry, The solo was actually my improvisation on the D minor pentatonic scale. I just played whatever came to my mind.

  • This is fantastic.. really good work

  • thats nasty! nice job man

  • sexy :p

  • This is mega! The tone reminds me how much I love guitar rig 3! Good work

  • thanks man. if your interested, I used the same guitar amp models that Tim Reynold of DMB uses(Marshall Jcm2000 and a Mesa Dual Rectifier)

  • man very well done. I have teh same guitar and you get great sound out of it. What are you running it through?

  • Thanks man. I give you allot of credit for singing and playing at the same time in your video I actually run my guitar through my computer with an M-audio sound card that lets me plug my guitar into my computer. I then I use this software called Guitar Rig 3 that lets me get any type of sound i want from my guitar. That way, there are no microphones or amps involved and the recording process is much simpler.

  • thanks aswell. Thats sick. I use a presonus firebod into logic 8 with amplitube and guitar rig. Sick program. I produce tho its not what I usually use as an amp. U record anything?

  • Nice! I'm liking it...tone isn't too bad either even with the various compression stages it went through

  • I can't hear your playing behind all that fuzz/distortion/mud. Work on your rhythm.

  • Thanks for the advice. Normally my sound is clean through Guitar Rig 3, but Youtube and video compressors change the sound allot. I'll try not to use as much distortion next time.

  • This is stunning.

    And you're real cute.

  • thank you, your kindness is much appreciated. : )
