Donna Fargo (born Yvonne Vaughn in High Point, NC) was and is a great singer and songwriter. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1979 and her story would make an inspiring movie. If there ever was a movie made about Donna's life, my choice for the role would be Selma Blair, who bears a striking resemblance to Donna.
I wish this style of singing was still around! They has such feeling in their voices, the leading ladies of country music! I look up to these ladies and try to model myself after that same feeling in my band. :)
this song still makes me cry...i heard it the first time up in Alaska and i cried cus my daddy was in texas...and it's this song that made me come home....with daddy's help.
LOVE it!! Thanks so much for adding her songs! I've missed her songs so much! I thought she'd passed away but I just posted on another song and didn't read until I hit post....would seem she is still alive? She is an awesome lady!!! Loved her as a child and sure have missed her!
I LOVE THIS SONG AND I LOVE TO HEAR DONNA SING WHAT A GREAT COMBINATION, WHY CANT WE STILL HAVE COUNTRY MUSIC LIKE THIS INSTEAD OF THE CRAP THEY NOW PLAY. WHAT A SHAME.
I have a recording of Donna Fargo ,singing a lovely song," A one night stand I ain't never been", Does anybody have it ? & can you post , ? I cant find it on U Tube This is also a nice song, Arthur
Donna Fargo rules... The true Queen oF Country...Had a mad crush on her since I was 6. And to think she wrote or c-wrote many of her own songs...All hail the Goddess of Country...
Love Donna not only a great singer but from what a friend told me she was a really great teacher as well ... Aperently she was high school english teacher while she wrote all these songs and was doing show.... Imagine being in Fargo's class.... I would have melted....hehehehe
Now thats old school country!

@arinvests After doing some research, the song you make reference to is actually a song sung by Susan Raye. Donna Fargo did not do this song.

Does anyone know if this version of "daddy" was recorded on any albums? and if so which one? I like this one better than the one on U.S of America.

texastornado I'd be grateful if you could get them. It's very frustrating not to be able to understand all the words of a song one likes so much.
