  • Would it suck to go downhill though? Does anyone know how. I mean like San Francisco downhill type of stuff. Or do people tend not to use fixies in that type of situation.

  • 1. I have a fixie WITH brakes IDGAF

    2. Ive been riding for 5yrs (not a pose/hipster)

    3. Many Kids are giving up in the trend. I still ride no matter what

$. I dont walk up hill, and rush down hills

    7. I bike LA

    8. I respect gears (just not for me)

    9. I dont skid or do tricks (again, not for me)

    10. RIDE OR DIE BITCHEZ

  • I ride a track bike in the winter and a road bike in the summer. and mix it up along the way sometimes too with mountain biking. Cycling shouldn't have so many divisions. We're still getting places on two wheels by ourselves. Electric assists on the other hand...

  • also after i rode track bikes and fixed gears for 2 years i hopped on my road bike again and i went about 10 times faster.... they improve your cadence and speed SO much

  • holy shit thats a nice bike........

  • If its hurting your knees u probably havent got the bike fitted to u or u have the wrong bike or u cant pedal in circles properly. This tommy dude is clueless... I havent walked up any hill. I live in hills district in sydney. My mates walk their mountain bikes.... So sad.... 46. 16 for now. And taking feet off pedals down a hill is not freewheeling. Also fixed gear dosnt mean anythin about brakes. It means do what the hell u want!

  • Tommyogtigern is a lame troll with no arguments. He has no life and probably rides a tricycle.

  • 10 stupid things about fixies:

    1. mostly posers

    2. no freewheel. unless you kick your feet out. weeeee! and very hard on the knees. dont bs and say it isnt.

    3. you are not in control with no brakes or gears. (which are not crap). you are confined. a prisoner in many ways

    4. walking up steeper hills. not really riding a bike if you are walking it up a hill are you guido?

    5. walking down steeper hills. um, brakless down a hill in the rain means there is something wrong with you! idiots

  • @tommyogtigern

    1. you say this like you have experience with being a poser.

    2. its no harder on the knees than riding a regular bike. the only difference is constant pedaling.

    3. actually, you're even more so in control. whatever you do directly affects the bike. so you are even more careful on a fixie.

    4. why bother going up a steep hill when you can take other, less-steep streets to get to the same destination? and i believe guidos are too big to fit on a fixie.

    5. refer to number four.

  • @tommyogtigern lmao you must be weak. i mean it was hard when i first started but i got use to it, guess what youm4d?

  • 6. its more about lifestyle than riding bikes. and trying to emulate the cult gods of the courier profession. enveloped in self image

    7. burning thru tires. skidding is not a trick

    8. guys getting all pseudo spiritual using recycled dweeb jargon like 'its all about minimalism' or 'you are more at one with your bike' . shucks. i've never once felt at one riding in the mountains on my retro tommasini!

    9. messengers will make fun of you. its true. and so will everyone else.

    10. the tricks suck

  • @tommyogtigern

    6. its a culture. just like riding a skateboard. how are they gods? the simply use a fixed gear in their daily profession.

    7. actually, with cheap $30 tires, and regular skidding, they still last months on end.

    8. i don't even see what point you are trying to make here.

    9. why would they make fun of people who idolize them? or so you say.

    10. sounds like you tried to be cool and ride a fixie, tried tricks, and failed miserably so now you're bitter to everyone that rides one.

  • =D !!!

  • is that a HED3 front wheel? the spokes look like they have a slightly different shape to them

  • @TravisBIKES possibly the specialized trispoke.

  • haha loved it!!!!

  • parallel parking is for cars. duhhhhh

  • really? wow thx for letting us know captain obvious

  • i was under the impression that i had to buy a whole new hub, is that false?

  • if you have a hub that can take new cassetes/ sprockets, whatever you can buy a fixed 'sprocket'

that just slides or screws on

  • it depends on how your current one is designed. the best thing to do is to sign up on some fixie forums and post pics of your bike with questions on how to convert it, or have a local bike shop do it for you

  • hahah thats awesome! could anyone tell me how to turn my 70's roadbike (converted into a single speed) into a fixie??

  • If it's already a single/speed, you just need to get a new rear wheel and put a cog/lockring on it, then readjust your chain to make it tight.

  • nice bike ^^

  • haha, funny!

  • THANKS FOR WASSSSTTTTINGGGGGGG MY TIME.............(opens new link to porn site....and leaves.)

  • hahahaha thats so funny how its not an aerospoke or hed3. look it up

  • arrospok!

  • no. its a HED

  • thats not a HED3. I have a 650cc HED3 and the three spokes are alot wider. thats probly some obscure japanese or european tri spoke.

  • No. kphomma its a Spin

  • fiddy dorra.

  • funny!

  • LOL

  • wtf next? fixie 3 point turn? ffs.

  • hep!

  • haha!

  • hell yes--proper

  • Boss.

  • thats a sick front wheel. its thinner than a hed.3 and a spin. looks awesome

  • sick

  • that wheel is sick! lovin it! it puts my aerospoke to shame :[[[

  • besides, you can do tricks just like on the video (to be honest, i've got a fixie but i can't...shame on me)

  • 6. learn to use different muscles -> one has to use 'pulling' along with 'pushing' on the pedal in order to control the bike.

    7. improves endurance -> can't stop pedaling, body adapts to remove latic adid more efficently

    8. easy to maintain -> vertually maintenace free

    9. tough -> the drivetrain can withstand tons of wattage and years of abuse.

    10. awesome acceleration -> in right set-up, it launched like a rocket.

  • 10 advantages of fixed gear bikes

    1. high cadence on high speed, low cadence on low speed -> learnd to adopt through different cadence level

    2. lightweight -> no brakes, gears, freewheels and all sorts of crap.

    3. super super efficent -> no pullies to go through

    4. looks awesome -> no cables, very clean!

    5. feels unified with the bike -> great response, no thinking through sifting or braking.

  • What is the advantage of a fixie? I'm curious.

  • well done.

  • schöne spengle

  • inesperado, muy bueno

  • nicely done

  • ohh man du hast echt langeweile oder ^^
