@S3BLD try it and see if it works for u, if it doesn't then use other tools, there are jaat sau, taan sau, chum kiu biu jee etc etc...i'm sure Sifu Peterson, Sifu Sergio or even my man Jai here can explain better than me, it works differently to different people, I personally cannot pak sau for shiet, I rely more on jaat and laap, pak usually happens accidentally, what works for u?man as long as you don't do silly things like chasing hands.I mean in a real fight u bound to get hit,we aint superman
@S3BLD most of these encounters only needed 3 to 5 punches and its over and that's like less than 5 - 10 seconds! is it effective? well it is for me! I accidentally did Pak Sao to be honest in one of those occasion, I wanted to palm strike his face...but his hands were on the way and "pak sau" happened...it wasn't intentional.heres the thing it won't work if you deliberately trying to pak sau,u'll b chasing hands,if ur intent was to hit,but obstruction happens..then pak sau happens, try it
@S3BLD wow wow what happened man? did smth happened to u? are u on a crusade to start an inquisition on martial arts or wing chun because u reckon is bushido?, I have my fair share of street encounters..I wouldn't call them fights because most of those encounters I was either surrounded by 2 or 3 guys or there were 4 of us against 7. And its a drill...like punching the bag 100 times or kicking it 100 times, are u going to do that in a real fight? punching the guy a 100 times to win? hel no
@S3BLD You can hardly call this sparring. Its a drill. Its meant to make you used to the movement. If you start just pack saoing you will do nothing. The point is that the pack sao will give you information of your opponent with which in turn you can counter attack.
It teaches you more "when" then "how".
"How" is very simple and easy.
"When" is the part that most fail at.
Those drills are meant to teach you that "when".
I am sorry if you still don't understand I can't explain it any simpler...
sifu peterson my respect i have liked all the videos you have done until know.but here i see that you are bouncing when you move your hands it could be thta you are doing it to help your student but it looks bad yours truly
@S3BLD whatever dude, u are obviously just a too hung up on theory-fighting...... I don't guess, I do. If you don't think so then you should come and try your shit here and we will be more then willing to show you it works. If you are not willing or able, then don't bothers commenting or trying.
@S3BLD I use pak sau a lot in sparring and real fights as a way to judge distance and fend off an attack before setting up my counter. yes it does work and yes it is effective.
Can we learn the name of the soundtrack at the beginning of the video?

How does this compare to other martial arts EG what if your opponent (western boxing) is punching at your face?
