the 3D helps with like a more sense of feeling and that it makes things feel a lot realer without making things harder. having to stroke your PSP to climb doesn't make any sense, but why would it so long as it attracts people and Sony can rake in the bucks. graphics don't make the games either. sure, it's important in games like Shadow of the Colossus but most games don't need amazing graphics. FF7, OoT, Jak and Daxter, Super Mario Bros., and minecraft. they don't need them, so why do you?

@LaowPing i can name some PS exclusives with bad graphics. Final Fantasy VII was one because even then the graphics weren't all that great. and if you ask me the PS2 didn't have as good graphics as GameCube. i see what you're saying, but there are some exceptions. and it would be harder to climb with the TP and it can mess up gameplay if it's not integrated well. and i don't just mean appreciating graphics, i mean WORSHIPING them. it's all people care about these days.

@LaowPing yeah, they kinda are. i'm more into the classic and cel shaded graphics like wind waker, Team fortress 2, and zelda skyward sword. it's kinda funny, Wii was supposed to be the wave of the future, but what really sold it was that it brought back the classics. it's also why i like Wii the best. PS3 is close though.
this is the beginning of the end for uncharted. once Uncharted racing comes out, it's all over. this is what happened with both Crash and Jak. i was hoping ND would get to hold onto this one like with R&C and Insomniac but sadly it just wasn't to be. i don't mean to bash Sony but until they learn from nintendo that quality < quantity this stuff will just keep happening. also, their new gimmicks are hindering gameplay. i have the 3DS and believe me the 3D helps a ton it's really hard to explain.
@NTom92 so was Jak and Daxter but they did that too. besides i made this comment before they announced that they never thought of Uncharted of a trilogy like the others and they're going to make more. that relieved me a ton, because i love uncharted.
@waxford13 but u got to see the difference, Jak is a fantasy game, its set in a world with magic i.e Daxter gets turned into an ottsel. Its like Crash in the way that its comicy, cartoony. Did u really think they woud ever make Uncharted Racing? Say Nate in a power turbo rocket car, and Sully on turbo powered cigar with "Goddamn" written on the side? First one past the finish line wins the treasure!
This looks very uncomfortable to use. Having to move one hand off of the buttons and hit the touch screen is cumbersome and distracting. Hopefully developers will realize they need to either have touch controls exclusively, touch + one hand, or 2 hands only. DS games generally shine in that department. For instance, the Zelda DS games use the stylus and then either the arrows or the buttons, depending on if you're right or left handed. Phoenix Wright lets you play with the stylus or buttons.
@HeroOfHyla I'm pretty sure they're just doing that to show what it can do. I hope they have the rubbing the screen to find clues, etc. feature but they'd be idiots to add the touch screen into simple things like climbing. Or at least they should have it as an optional feature

I don't know if its gonna be a different storyline, but Naughty Dog aren't developing Uncharted Portable, they will just oversee the game and mae sure it stays true to the Uncharted series. But i honestly think it will be Uncharted 1, just new gameplay features, gameplay and by the looks of it, some fuking unbelievable graphics for a Handheld Game console and innovative aswell. It's gonna blow the market away.
@AMD7thS I doubt ts going to be uncharted 3 but i think its a different story because ive played uncharted 1 and i cant seem to remember doing most of the stuff thats on this demo or whatever it is so a new story most likely.
As far as sales go, Nintendo will always be number one until a new company arises in the next 5-10 years, just because everything for it is more cheaper. They fill classrooms with parents not caring about gaming in its entirety.
PSP on the other hand (and all PS products) give off that expensive odor that keeps around 75% of parents away.
But if you look from another perspective, as a developer would you rather be in NextGen? or go with something that has a limit artistically. Storylines r FFA

Nintendo will always have those fun addictive games that are creative with their unique graphics and style of play. All for an affordable price.
PSP titles were always a risk, some just bombed where others were just mind blowing for the depth they bring into the atmosphere. A lot of DS games were bad but we just didn't bitch so Nintendo does have that.

2- I have in mind a price lik $300 for NGP, too expensive, so maybe sony will do some promotions where you buy the 3G service for 2 yr and receive 1 NGP...

@pedroyamato I do know alot about the Wii. I've looked into buying one several times. Ands that's true about the PS3. They released 3 good exclusives the first 2 years it was out. I don't see any console surpassing the Wii in sales, unless Nintendo announces a successor, because all Sony consoles have 10 year life cycles. That'll be the only way. I do however see PS3 beating out the 360 by the end of this year. 360 only has two great exclusives whereas PS3 has 11.

Wii's third party is an epic fail to say the least. Where's Grand Theft Auto, Mass Effect, Borderlands, Bioshock, Fallout, Assassins Creed, Dead Space, Modern Warfare 2, Burnout Paradise, Red Dead Redemption, Just Cause, Crysis 2, Brink, HomeFront, BattleField, Street fighter 4, Tekken, DeadRising 2, Prototype, Batman games? Thats a massive list and it only scratches the surface.

the 3D helps with like a more sense of feeling and that it makes things feel a lot realer without making things harder. having to stroke your PSP to climb doesn't make any sense, but why would it so long as it attracts people and Sony can rake in the bucks. graphics don't make the games either. sure, it's important in games like Shadow of the Colossus but most games don't need amazing graphics. FF7, OoT, Jak and Daxter, Super Mario Bros., and minecraft. they don't need them, so why do you?

Final Fantasy VII was one because even then the graphics weren't all that great. and if you ask me the PS2 didn't have as good graphics as GameCube. i see what you're saying, but there are some exceptions. and it would be harder to climb with the TP and it can mess up gameplay if it's not integrated well. and i don't just mean appreciating graphics, i mean WORSHIPING them. it's all people care about these days.

this is the beginning of the end for uncharted. once Uncharted racing comes out, it's all over. this is what happened with both Crash and Jak. i was hoping ND would get to hold onto this one like with R&C and Insomniac but sadly it just wasn't to be. i don't mean to bash Sony but until they learn from nintendo that quality < quantity this stuff will just keep happening. also, their new gimmicks are hindering gameplay. i have the 3DS and believe me the 3D helps a ton it's really hard to explain.

This looks very uncomfortable to use. Having to move one hand off of the buttons and hit the touch screen is cumbersome and distracting. Hopefully developers will realize they need to either have touch controls exclusively, touch + one hand, or 2 hands only. DS games generally shine in that department. For instance, the Zelda DS games use the stylus and then either the arrows or the buttons, depending on if you're right or left handed. Phoenix Wright lets you play with the stylus or buttons.

I don't know if its gonna be a different storyline, but Naughty Dog aren't developing Uncharted Portable, they will just oversee the game and mae sure it stays true to the Uncharted series. But i honestly think it will be Uncharted 1, just new gameplay features, gameplay and by the looks of it, some fuking unbelievable graphics for a Handheld Game console and innovative aswell. It's gonna blow the market away.

As far as sales go, Nintendo will always be number one until a new company arises in the next 5-10 years, just because everything for it is more cheaper. They fill classrooms with parents not caring about gaming in its entirety.
PSP on the other hand (and all PS products) give off that expensive odor that keeps around 75% of parents away.
But if you look from another perspective, as a developer would you rather be in NextGen? or go with something that has a limit artistically. Storylines r FFA

Why are people always crying defending DS when someones just bragging about the PSP's amazingly clean graphic.
Nintendo will always have those fun addictive games that are creative with their unique graphics and style of play. All for an affordable price.
PSP titles were always a risk, some just bombed where others were just mind blowing for the depth they bring into the atmosphere. A lot of DS games were bad but we just didn't bitch so Nintendo does have that.
I wreckon itll go for 499$ too.

So maybe the sony answer would be:
1- Exchange for free the UMD for the download version of the game in the NGP store.
2- I have in mind a price lik $300 for NGP, too expensive, so maybe sony will do some promotions where you buy the 3G service for 2 yr and receive 1 NGP...
3- connection NGP -> DIGITAL TV (use the NGP as a home console)
4- no solution
5- Use the touch screen only for selection menu.
I will buy 3DS but wait to see if NGP will successed, still dont trust in sony portables.

I`m not sure NGP will successed for the following reasons:
1- They just closed the UMD port. Even if it can emulate PSP, all the games you bought for PSP will be lost.
2- The use of 3G is like a cellphone, you need to pay everymonth...
3- HD is cool, but playin fast in small screens is hard to see all the details...
4- For its 4core processor, more than 3 hours battery is virtually impossible
5- the front touch screen, is meanless, as you cant see the game when u touch it

How much did the Wii cost a launch? $250 vs. $600. I know that even if if PS3 launched cheaper, the Wii would have still have outsold it, but the PS3 would have a lot more sales then it did.

@pedroyamato I do know alot about the Wii. I've looked into buying one several times. Ands that's true about the PS3. They released 3 good exclusives the first 2 years it was out. I don't see any console surpassing the Wii in sales, unless Nintendo announces a successor, because all Sony consoles have 10 year life cycles. That'll be the only way. I do however see PS3 beating out the 360 by the end of this year. 360 only has two great exclusives whereas PS3 has 11.

Another important point is japanese tv analog broadcast will end this yr july. Which mean that every house will get TV with HDMI port... I will not be supresed with a HD wii announcement in 2012...
