  • This was a great radio station when I was serving my last three years of high school at Wesclin Jr. & Sr. High(1971-1974), in Trenton, Illinois. Eric Claptons' Layla riff was the stations' theme at the time. I am glad that I got to experience this during its' great years.

Looks like a set of ADVENT speakers, can't make out the receiver(Pioneer?)

  • I,m Quaalude Charlie 0f The South Side ST.Louis Stoners :) QC

  • I remember going down to the station when it was no more than a large brick photomat and knocking on the window and trading joints for albums and other KSHE gear, If you think it's not true go ask J.C he must have handed out half the studio but he always had pounds and pounds of pot when he lived in AUDABON PARK.

  • I loved KSHE 95. Nektar, Joe Walsh, Moody Blues, Yes, Mahavishnu Orch.

It was awesome. I got it on old radios with fair-to-bad reception, but I never missed a day without tuning them in.

  • In the '80s, as a teenager, KSHE was the sh**!!!!

I've never seen any other radio station that had such wild commercials, and marketing, like Tshirts and mugs and stuffed pigs.

    Thanks for the vid.

  • In the '80s, as a teenager, KSHE was the sh**!!!!

  • Wow....time warp. I totally remember that.

  • Dont dis KSHE. if you dont like it, don't listen to it. simple as that. The Rock of St. Louis KSHE 95!!!

  • .....he's doing WHAT again??

    XD

  • Wow! I totally grew up on this station!! I remember listening to Van Halen in the tub when I was five, lol! :D

  • KSHE completely blows.

  • @Vaekkrinhart you suck balls

  • @GashR87 Come on, dude, they play the same old shit all the time. Name a popular band, and it's one of 2 or 3 songs they play by them, and that's it... and if hear "golden country" by REO one more time, I'm gonna kill someone... or Nickelback. My God, KSHE sucks. I can't tell you how many songs they've ruined for me because of the repetition.

    You know it's true.

And it's such a rare occasion to hear any metal there.. just pathetic... same 'ol, same 'ol...

  • @Vaekkrinhart you dont know anything about classic rock do youthey aren't supposed to play metal listen to the point then if you want to hear metal

  • Ugh.

  • At least you still have KESHEATER radio. Corperate radio assholes killed KY102 years ago. We used to heckle our friends in St Louis. Truth be told both used to be good radio stations that played local talent and more than just the top tracks. Music industry is a sad sad version of its former self. Hence American Idol crap and 2 or 3 corperations owning most of the radio stations in the country.

  • Does anyone remember the names of Sweet Meat's piglets?

    (I do!)

  • KSHE has been owned by Emmis Communications of Indianapolis since 1984, which was around the time this spot came out. It isn't that the corporate owners changed, the way radio does business is (which isn't necessarily a good thing.)

  • I remember these commercials from when I was a kid, thanks to my parents I grew up with KSHE, have to agree with hendodabest though...sad to say, just a sign of the times.

  • Wow, this takes me back. Now all we need is the one with the old lady that says "again, doin' what again?!" lol

  • This commercial proves you can be too old to rock.

  • KSHE Klassics show rocks!!!! :-) Come chat with other KSHE listeners on Sunday mornings as we listen to the U-Man bring back the good old days.

Chat website link on my profile. See you on Sunday mornings. Don't forget the gooey buttercake & coffee.

  • ( waves to our neighbors next door in missouri )

  • I love K-She and I had that same receiver for a while (It's a 9000 series... if you can guess/know the make I'll mail you a cookie). Long live rock

  • Sansui ?

  • What's your address?!?! you get the cookie.

  • This station was geat till the corporations took over. Now it is a shadow of its former self. When will corparate america get a fucking hint. You are ruining everything.

  • @hendodabest I agree. I was born and raised in St Louis. Emmis communications ruined Kshe 95.

  • I'm looking for the KSHE 95 commercial where you see a woman dancing in the shower with Led Zepp's 'Wanton Song' in the background and at the end of the commercial, Ruth Hutchison peeks out from the shower curtain. HELP!!!

  • they had two like this. this one and the second was almost excatley the same but with a grandma.

can anyone tell me who had the no monkey busniess commercials ?

  • @maddogschs That was Schweig-Engel.

  • @maddogschs Freidman Railroad Salvage was the no monky busniess commercial I saw it the other day thanks

  • @maddogschs No it wasnt.it was Home Furniture that used to have the No Monkeybusiness commercials.

  • This is awesome! I live in O'Fallon, and K-SHE 95 is my favorite radio station, but since I was born in 1990, I never knew they had a commercial for it in the 80's...

  • they had two like this one. this one and one that had a grandma in it. can any one tell me who had the furniture store commercials that had the closing line "at ............ theres no monkee busniess "

  • Slyman Brothers....... ON THE HILL!!

  • a-GINNN.

  • Did Mike Brady design their kitchen?

  • Van Halen..... TURN IT UUUUUPP!

  • Classic St. Louis commercial thank you so much for posting! This is great!.

  • lol, so true!!!!!

  • Anybody have clips of the old KSHE tube trip shows?

  • Comment removed

  • @ngpark3 I have an aircheck from KSHE probably Spring 1972 of Tube Trip

  • lmao i remember this, cool!!

  • I love her piggy nose at the beginning! LOL!

  • Where's the K-SHE commercial with the elderly lady dj dancing in the shower? That one was a hoot!! (a former St. Louisan here, but I dj'd on KDHX)

  • all the Nickel Back you can stand. i hate k-she

  • K-She should go back to the good music! There is too much noise rock now! I consider Nickel Back okay but not compared to The Doors or The Who because they are real legends who's music you wont forget in 3 years.

  • Bring back the Kite-Fly. Laserium in Forest Park. Oh yeah, and bring back progressive rock!

    Sweetmeat Lives!

  • I understand that the KSHE depicted in that commercial is now being aired on their HD sub-channel...just heard a promo with "Radio Rich" Dalton announcing that fact!

  • Cool. Anyone remember Ruth Hutchinson? I grew up with KSHE in the late 70's and 80's. I usually only listen the Classics Show on Sunday Mornings. A lot of the music I listened to then is showing up on Sunday Morning. Guess we are all slowly becoming classics.

  • What memories ... thanks for the upload ... and what a perfect commercial for a rock station.

  • Wow, takin me back! Great ad

  • cool! I hadn't seen this in years!

  • As a St. Louis radio rat (and former PD at an STL station), I remembered and LOVED this spot...HELL YEAH, BRO'! YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO ROCK AND ROLL!

  • I remember that, so cool! lol

  • OMG that was too cool. If you wish we could go back to those days, Gimme a Hell Yeah!

  • Hell Yeah

  • Good lord.

  • OH MAN! ! AWESOME!

This brings back SUCH FOND MEMORIES! That commercial was hilarious! Thank you for posting this! ! ! ! !

  • Man that brought back memories

  • LOVE this ad. I remember it like it was yesterday. It's true - you're never too old to rock and roll.
