Sure the old one was in some ways iconic and unmistakably enduring, but the changes are so it is kept fresh and chic to appeal to the enthusiasts and younger market. The front looks a lot like the Focus RS but the back seems more refined if anything. I wouldn't mind seeing the new generation RS with the boosted 3.7l Mustang engine :D

fiat came up with the bravo, which is a great looking car, then renault made their new megane which was almost indentical, then the new astra and then the focus, they all looks the same apart from the lights and few details, but i guess it's hard to be original these days

The strange thing on the names is that the European Fusion and the American one are totally different cars, with the same name.

The European Fusion is a hatchback slightly bigger than the Fiesta, while the America, is a saloon slightly smaller than the Taurus.

The two common cars in both regions, the Fiesta and Focus are of course near identical cars.

The Ford designers much love the name Fusion :) .
