i seriously find it ridiculous how underrated this chick is. amazingly unique and her songs are mesmerizing. i always play a sad little love story in my head while i listen to this.
kind of bittersweet hearing laura Veirs on the CW, initially I had no idea what song it was, I know this song so well but it was like seeing someone you know in a place they would never be...
If you want to hear another song of hers, try "Cast a Hook." I heard it a few years ago and it almost immediately became a favorite of mine. It's not at all like this song, though.
@MrStGeorgeIllawarra everyone in while a song or 2 will generate interest but I guess that price you have to pay for mediocre drama. At least The WB introduce you good music and give viewers consistent quality.
Heard this on Ringer too, someone can tell me the name of the song earlier on the show, something like ".. from the ground to my head..", started at 5m when she's talking with his husband's sis.. thanks
@W3R3W00F not true; she is discovered, just not as much as some people would like. i personally don't mind that she's not a HUGE name, at the risk of sounding like a music snob i'm going to say that she's one of the best kept secrets in the music world. there's something about not many people knowing of her that makes her music seem simpler and cleaner
@motifontheback I suppose I agree. Once people go mainstream and start appealing to the masses they more or less lose that special air about their music. I guess that's my hipster side kicking in, lol. :P
Like you said, she is one of the best kept secrets of the musical world. Still, 6,000 views doesn't seem like enough views to me. Somewhere around 100,000 - 500,000 would be nice, but I wouldn't mind more than that.
@W3R3W00F we all have an annoying little hipster indie music snob in us LOL i can't stand it when mine shows :[ lol. if she went mainstream that'd be pretty awesome actually, my only concern would be that she doesnt change her style TOO much in order to appeal to those masses. mainstream is ok; drastic change from what an artist used to stand for is not, i feel like people confuse that. i, too, wish this vid had more views, people would be smarter for listening to this type of music :D lmao
@motifontheback Haha, yeah, I've got a pretty big hipster side. XP XD It annoys me sometimes, lol.
But yeah, if she went mainstream that would be pretty cool. And I totally agree with you: as long as she didn't change her style, I'd still like her music, but if she decided to deviate away from her true sound and into something more chartable, I'd be pretty disappointed. It happens with so many bands: They begin to appeal to the masses when they had such a great, personal sound. :c
@W3R3W00F It's undiscovered so that we "the great music enjoyers" can be the only ones who know what the music can really bring you, how can make you feel, how to touch your brain... I don't want the people who love Justin B.(I never thought I would type his name), Lady G.(hers neither) etc. (I won't type anymore, I respect my keyboard) to find out about wonderful artists and give them chance of ruining in some ugly and mysterious way... What's for the masses sucks.
I don't particularly like this video, but I do love this song. My cat recently passed away and for some reason this song reminds me of how I feel about him now. So this song is for him.

So many artists we fall out of love with, but I know I will adore her air for the rest of my life.

Say what you want about CW shows, but their choices of songs is usually spot on.

This is gorgeous.
This is sad.
This is haunting.
This is emotional.
This is unforgettable.
This is a work of art.
This isn't mainstream.
Why does incredible music like this go undiscovered?

This song is so haunting, it reminds me of the twelve dancing princesses with worn out shoes, dancing all night in an enchanted land.
