Like that pokemon that you tried to talk to and said "Object Event" instead of something else. You're not supposed to be able to talk to it, and therefore the programmers didn't have anything programmed for it to say. That's whay it said "Object Event". It's an error, nothing more

Ah, the old Object Event script.

This also for some reason happens when you enter the battle place in Viridian City, then enter the battle field where you battle the other trainer, and he/she says "Object Event"

This happens also when you talk to the grey sprite forms of Suicune, Raikou and Entei, without waking them up (Thanks Walk Through Walls).
