@suddy412 a huge amount of the influence the British had in India was a very positive one , not every British subject was a bad one . you can accept that and move on or carry on being bitter , your choice .

Of the 379 deaths in the garden most were in fact inflicted by Indians on other indians who literally trod their vulnerable women and children into the ground. Indeed 120 of them were so stupid they jumped into the well and were drowned.
