i have delema... im a singer and im planing to buy my own wireless microphone for my gigs... but i dont know wat is the best for my vocal power... can anyone help and suggest... thanks
@laysongbird doesn't have anything to do with vocal power...you can adjust the sensitivity. What it really has to do with is your singing style, kind of music you make and the unique sound of your voice. Sennheiser ist known for it's warm and powerful sound. Shure has more cold and aggressive approach to it. AKG have a very neutral approach. Generally i can tell you that most mics from Sennheiser have better res than Shure SM58...but res doesn't get you anything live.
Like all brands you pick the kit for the job not for the Name, factor in cost, the job its doing and the recording your making denotes the mic you use what ever the manufacturer.
Sennheisers reputation goes out the door with their EVOLUTION series wireless lavaliers. MKE 2 ME 2 great mics. Cheap unreliable 3.5mm plug that connects the mic to the bodypack is garbage. Its molded to the cable. You can't repair them. New plugs are 9 bucks each. The system is only as good as its weakest link. Those plugs are very weak. They will ruin your day!
ok if you go £500+ to spend on a wireless mic, that in the real world still have interferance problems, not forgetting limited battery life on the TXmitter generally 3:1 so when using it you nee 3 TX batteries & 1 RX battery.unlike the BBC i cant afford to waste money testing this gear to find out its not as good as the rep tells you it is.
It really depends on what you're going for to tell you the truth. Neumanns are nice, if you want the Neumann sound. I tend to prefer 1960s era Shure Unisphere and Unidynes though. heh
I have SKM4031 and EM1005. They look like they are new. They are completely correct. Excellent work. SKM has a condensation capsule.

Not exactly, they are just a fantastic brand with well made microphones that are good for certain kinds of sounds.

Ok Fair Enough, Maybe I Was A Little Over The Top Shall We Say? But Surely You Must Agree If I Was To Say NEUMANN Are THE FINEST! In The World?
