  • Not bad. Worth noting, though, that the most common cause of no cabin heat is low coolant level. Heater core is usually the highest point in the system, so a little low, and they get nothing.

The first thing to do with any overheat/no heat condition is CHECK THE COOLANT LEVEL. It could be empty, and the gauge is reading cold while the engine is melting down because the temp sensor isn't submersed in coolant.

  • Actually In 32 years of building custom race motors and show cars not to mention the service and repair done at several shops, I have never seen a water pump fail due to losing a fin on the pump, not one!!! most are because of bad seals and poorly maintenanced cooling system.

  • @gdwordsmith1 It's a VAG (Volkswagen/Audi) problem; The plastic propellers fracture and the shaft just spins inside it, usually followed by a severe overheat with head gasket or engine failure.

  • MY Heater only throws air cold in all the pocisiones… THAT CAN BE

  • fuck ur boring

  • I have a 2000 Impala, I just replaced the radiator becasue it was leaking and now it's leaking from where you put the reserve or extra water for the radiator. I hope I explain myself .

    Thanks,

  • now days a walk in the park can get you killed

  • i have a2004 seabring and i use the a/c and turn the off ican not get the car to run for 51min con youlet me know i can to to fix this vze28ypmc@msn.com

  • I have a 04 chevy truck that is making a ticking noes in the dash console, it all so is making a nose is coming from the heater door under the dash on the right side.

the door is working but it seems as if it is trying turning the door past the point it can. how can i fix this problem?

  • hey i have a 2003 infinity g35 and it has a over heating problem. when the car is park with engine on it those not over heat or if i use it juts in the city i wont over heat that much but wen i get in the freeway after like 2 minutes it over heats and the gage goe all the way to red what do yuo think is the problem

  • Very nice video! Well explained.

  • whats a raadiator

  • its radiator

its where u put the coolant

    second is the reserver

  • Trying getting the radiator flushed

  • mitsubishi eclipse 2001 convertable is blowing cold air no heat on the inside. Thermostat was replaced. I will check those hoses. Also have a problem with mildew in car! any ideas with this model.

  • this guy sucks. probably does crystal meth

  • lol

  • jErKoFf

  • Good advice but needs more info on other parts.

  • I had thermostat, sensors, water pump, timing belt and other small parts replace. The head gaskets are fine. But is still heating up that he water from the resevoir tank boils up and comes out. Help

  • I'm surprised that he didn't mention one of the major causes of overheating....A LEAKY HEAD GASKET. Often a very small leak in a head gasket will cause you to lose small amounts of coolant in the form of vapor. You may smell coolant after driving the car for a bit but you never see it leak. In many cases it just leaks to the outside and doesn't show up in your oil.

  • A leaky head gasket can also be a reason for no heat inside the car. If your heater core is hot on both hoses and your internal heating controls are working correctly, it may be a blown head gasket that keeps it from heating properly.

  • thanks

  • what should the normal temp be

  • He doesn't mention it because the video, whilst starring the jeep, is not about jeeps specifically. Rather, it is a general instructional video which covers some of the basics which somebody could use to help them when trying to diagnose a cooling problem.

    Give it a rest.

  • I have a 98 Olds Cutlass with overheating. ASE mech has repaired leaky intake, replaced water pump, hoses, flushed radiator now recommends new radiator. whistling that accelerates as the engine is revved. I hear gurgling under the hood but sounds close to the dash when I start and stop; only little coolant lost around cap when it overheats (190 deg). I am female and sceptical of mechanics. Insight into your knowledge would be greatly appreciated. I have already spent $1200, but not fixed.

  • your heater core could be stopped up, preventing complete coolant flow....or your thermostat could be stuck in the closed position. if its not either of the two, you could have a damaged core in the radiator or the cap couldnt be sealing correctly.

  • The most common causes of overheat on a Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ (which is the one in the video) is a bad radiator fan relay and radiator fan motor.

    Why doesn't he mention that?

  • this is a teaser to the real video

  • spot on, ive had to replace 6 fan motors and relays within the last month.....i work at a jeep outfitters in texas

  • My car only overheats on high temp days and only while driving at speed over 50KMH.

When car is idle, regardless of whether the AC is on, it wont overheat, as soon as you drive it on a hot day with AC on, the temp will rise to the redline.

What sounds most likely to cause this?

    Cheers.

  • what could be the problem if the car is overheating and is getting about half of the gas economy it should be generating?
