  • people say Sitkovetsky played football in the CMS yard while Kogan practiced and practiced for hours in a class. True genius!

  • this is the best performance of any piece i have ever heard. i have been listening to and enjoying this performance of this movement for 3 years and am perpetually awestruck. there is simply no comparison to the technical brilliance and artistry of this performance. this is worthy of humanity putting into a capsule and mailing to the universe. purely divine. the passage at 3:35 until the orchestra joins....what gusto! a mad race! listen to the applause..the audience knew what they had witnessed!

  • Beautiful, very moving !

  • 4:22 brings tears to my eyes. perfection

  • Ascoltando non mi stupisce affatto che Julian arrivò primo pari merito con Leonid Kogan in un famoso concorso internazionale! Fantastico!

  • I love this!

  • Certified Intergalactic! Clean, full sound! Julian Sitkovetsky is the name.

  • This is fabulous!

  • Guauu¡¡,,que buena version..gran violinista...

  • THIS IS THE BEST 3rd MOVEMENT OF THIS CONCERTO I HAVE EVER HEARED!!!!!!!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!

  • Virtuosi fireworks par excellence!!

Great lyrical thrill ride!!! Thank you.

  • Phenomenal! Bravo! Simply amazing!

  • quelle maitrise ici tout à fait exceptionelle !

  • simplement merveilleux !!

  • This performance of Aram Khachaturian's violin concerto was released on a Russian Disc CD in the 1990's. It is now out of print. The conductor is the great Niyazi from Azerbaijan. This is a live performance given in Eastern Europe in 1954. Both Oistrakh and Sitkovetsky are supreme interpreters of this concerto but Niyazi's conducting has a bite of its own. Fans of this concerto owe it to themselves to include both performances in their collection.

  • better than oistrakh!

  • Es Verdaderamente una clase magistral del Spicatto, es la grabacion mas Excelente que he escuchado del este moviminto. Fantastico.

  • This is not Dmitry Sitkovetsky, this is his father Julian. Very amazing violinist, but I prefer him more for baroque music, Kogan wins in Khachaturian and Paganini. Also amazing recordings of Shasson Poem and Tchaikovsky concerto by Julian Sitkovetsky.

  • Three hurras for the conductor, too!

  • simply the best recording of this mvmt I've ever heard! if somebody could upload first two movements...

  • First time i hear this giant.Thank You for posting.A shame this man died so young.A blessing he left a talented son.

  • This recoding is very excellent, technically, musically and virtusity wise. But it sounds more romanian/hungarian. Kogan has the closest interpretation to the authentic sound of armenian folk music.

  • excelente interpretacion, una de las mejores q he escuchado de este concierto..pero sin dudas la mejor interpretacion es la de david oistrack..

  • Thanks for posting this - Sitkovetsky is amazing and more people should know about him, it's a shame he died so young. His Bach is beautiful.

  • woowowowow amaziiinnnnn thanx for postin

  • thank you very much for this recording ! this is oe of my favourite concertos and specially the 3rd mouv, and this because of the beauty playing by Sitkovetsky, it's the first time I liten to a recording of him and really Brave virtuoso violonist thnks for the video

  • Good!! Almost like Fischer lol...

  • Excellent, maybe the best performance i've heard of this concert

  • OMG!!! He has been my favorite violinist for years! After Oistrakh he is the best from bests.

Thank you! One day I'll upload something from his playing as well. Have his collection, but on LP.

  • anyone who plays Julian Sitkovetsky (and Khachaturian for that matter) knows what is good and real in the violin world - this is yet further evidence he had no peers whatsover, not rabin not heifetz not kogan, nor anyone else was better

    you rule

  • although i would have to say kogan and szeryng recordings are worth getting for this concerto, oistrakh isnt quite as clean but you gotta get that too because hey its oistrakh

  • I like Oistrakh's style best for this concerto

  • First Julian Sitkovetsky (My fav. Soviet violinist) clip on youtube!
