  • Very,very easy to Rolles...

  • I'm surprised this IFL on T.V. didn't last. I'm sure they had plenty of viewers. Networks always cancel good programming.

  • I'm no fan oƒ steroids and Royce took them. Watch UFC 1 Shamrock Gracie and you'll realize why they had to pry him off people. Shamrock taps and then tries to play like he didn't.

  • Nice work rolles!

  • tough tough sport!

  • Halloway fell into all of the classic GJJ traps. What a doofus!

  • @jimmicrackhead12 ufc is the organization, mma is the sport . kinda like nfl is football or nba is basketball

  • rolles needs to fight in the ufc. or even he should do mma i think, but he likes bjj more i think

  • @jimmicrackhead12 I think that you should'nt think too much thinking certainly not about things you don't know about. Try thinking about something you think you might know about if you think you hvnt had too much crack. Just thinking what most people who know something about MMA might be thinking!!!!!!!

  • @thesashworth you know everything? I think you are un able to do mma's so you dream about it on youtube right? Those who cant do, know or something i tihnk

  • Rolles was a shitty instructor. He did not give two shits about his students since the money at Renzo Gracie Academy was pouring in.

The top instructors at that school (night classes) were Magno, Zed, and Igor. Two of three were not Gracies.

To Rolles, I am happy that you were humiliated in the UFC. Karma came back to you.

  • @Lossforwords78 i trained at Renzos and not entirely agree with you, though Rolles always seemed sleepy:) he was a fine instructor. every time he came to the class he'd promote me and actually i got my blue belt from John (of whom you forgot to mention- he's considered the best Renzos and one of the worlds best BJJ instructors) but he got a thumb up from Rolles. great time, great people and i miss Renzos a lot.

  • @andyOsalek John was/is amazing. He taught the day classes, so there was not chance that I'd see him on a consistent basis. When John instructed a class, it was instantaneously obvious on improvement.

I was so passionate; I got about 10-private lessons ($1,500) from various instructors (Igor, Zed, and Magno) in a short time span and my game improved.

I respect your opinion and do not want to argue, despite differing opinions. However, the school changed for the worse over the years.

  • @Lossforwords78 i practiced lika a crazy- 5-6 classes a week for a couple of months.after 8 months i received my blue belt from John. two months later i left for Poland and good. sometimes i wish i had stayed a year or so more. Zed and Magno were the coolest dudes.

  • @andyOsalek I wished I could have practiced 5-6 times a week. I would always come in 3 times a week and sometimes on Saturday.

I had to work and 3-times a week was the best I could do.

Zed and Magno were amazing. They always made a person do minor adjustments, which made a world of difference. I remember when Magno received his black belt, he left for a while. There was some type of dispute.

Well, thanks for the chat bro. Hope all is well in the Poland.

  • i will be gracie when i grow up

  • He gassed out bad in his last fight, Renzo was ashamed, needs to work on conditioning clearly...

  • Rolles last fight was a big shame to wat u espect from the last name.. i personally are a HUGE gracie fan! much respect to anyone who step in!!! win or loose

  • How about that UFC debut Rolles? You still owe Ricardo Romero a fight, after you faked an injury to get out of a major league ass beating you fucking pussy

  • i was a lil upset with his ufc debut, obviously he had a upper hand on the ground but his conditioning...both fighters that matter was kind of week , they got winded easily and lazy when they attacked leaving themselves vulnerable for a opponent to take advantage which someone that would be better conditioned and faster would have capitalized on the oppitunity!

  • I just saw his UFC debut.. I didnt know if I should laugh or cry xD His striking was awful, slow and weak and when he punched he leand his whole body forward which was very bad and his takedown attempts (especially in the last round) was sooo bad.

  • the thing about the gracie's is there top of there game in jiu jitsu but in mma they don't really train stand up so they have a very one dimensional game.

  • you point is very valid, but they dont need the stand up tactic when jiu jitsu is largely based on ground work =]

  • @easternclive too bad all fights start standing

  • but taking them down is the fun part lol

  • Gracies should all just stick to teaching jiu jitsu and award themselves red belts and all that crap; he didn't disgrace his family; everyone knows rickson and the entire clan is full of shit. Gracie clan is a disgrace to martial arts.

  • You can't say the Gracies are a disgrace. Not a Royce fan, but Renzo is all class.

Not only that, but Gracies showed the MMA world juijitsu could beat anyone without it, hence why most top guys have some form of high level degree in that.

  • youre full of shit, minaung you motherfuker.you dont know what your talking about if you think that rickson and the gracie clan are full of shit.

  • Comment removed

  • thats complete and utter bullshit.. even if they were all complete dicks, they still uphold the honor of partly responsible for quite possibly the most effective and dare i say the best martial art ever created.

  • this guy is just nothing he just embarrassed his family name go and teach jiu jitsu body coz ur just nothing on mma

  • @NEGAO699 what is jiu jitsu body?

  • 2bad jus just lost his ufc debut he looked so horrile in that fight in which on paper he should have one but lost!

  • i don't know but he has the last name Gracie. but i don't think he grew up in the same environment renzo , rickson and the older generation grew up in. He lacks that killer instinct. as jiujitsu practiioner myself, his fight last night hurt to watch.

  • @GHRepresent

he froze under pressure, and overtrained. thats it. i guarantee he does better next time

  • Yeah, I don't know who this guy is but it's definitely not the guy who was at UFC 109. That guy was terrible. Maybe it was him but with a severe head cold and he was completely wasted on NyQuil. And Triple Sec.

  • The Mexicutioner Executed him in the 2nd round

  • @man0verboard

you know that watching this fight and him last night was two completely different guys. He was throwing slick double jabs and then took down a division 2 wrestler. and tapped him. he couldn't even hold the mount last night

he probably felt a lot of pressure.

  • Man I'm glad he wasn't on the main card, guy is a bum. Sorry if I offend, but no place in the UFC for guys like that. Roger needs to step up!

Incredible grappling competitor but not at all an MMA fighter.

  • Thank you Rolles for once again proving to us that pure BJJ is not enough to beat the modern MMA fighter.

Along with Caesar, you are my favorite Gracie. ;]

  • @Hotora86

what are you talking about? rolles trains boxing everyday for the last 7 years. he trains mma not just bjj. He was just not there that night. he had mount and lost it, common now he had nothing

  • WHAT?! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

That's hilarious!!! If he trains boxing everyday for the last 7 years and still fights like that, then there is no hope in hell for the Gracie clan.

  • i can't believe he got so beat up by a journeyman in beltran...renzo must have been cringing in his corner ..unprepaired big time ...no cardio and very poor stand up..will it improve enough to take on the big boys? .. i doubt it....not a good night for the gracie name....i think he should stick to the bjj....and he didn't even show that against beltran.. maybe if he works his cardio he can show us what he is probably capable of.. jury still out

  • damn too bad he really aint got the true old school gracie blood in him there will only be one great gracie in the game and he aint it cum on a rear naked choke from a gracie against a lame like holloway i seen his fight tonight at relenlentless and he aint ready for the ufc yet keep training maybe one day

  • I hope he does good in UFC. Sucks he isn't fighting on the main card this Saturday

  • @cp3w00 hopefully he has a good fight (Submission of the night etc) so they show it after the main event on PPV

  • If we are lucky, depending if the fight on the SPIKE prelims isn't too long, and if his fight is either short or very good we may see it on the cable broadcast also.

  • i agree im excited to see how he turns out

  • Yea, he's just new though bro, if he pulls out some wins he will be.

  • im hopeing rolles gracie becomes bignog 2.0

  • they are giving the gracie "easy" win with al turk... We can only see him get tested with a real opponent.. which will probably kick the living shit out of him...

  • He's fighting Jon Madsen. Al-Turk pulled out of the contest with VISA issues.

  • Why doesn't Al-Turk just use MasterCard?... :)

  • now that is funny goods right ther

  • Actually, I heard it was Joey Beltran who is replacing Al-Turk. Who will be a better test then both Al-Turk and Jon Madsen.

Beltran is 10 - 3. 9 T(KO)s. He lost to Tony Lopez in KOTC twice (who is quite good for KOTC standards, 17 - 2). Beltran's last fight was a KO win over ex-UFC fighter Houston Alexander in the 2nd round.

  • It wasn't CSAC, it was FSAC. To counter your position, the FSAC picked Yohan not because his skills, but because his record indicated he wouldn't have been enough competition. To tell me Wes Sims was more of a competition is ridiculous. Yohan could probably beat Wes Sims anyways. hahaha.

As for Beltran, he's beaten some decent fighters and has lots of KO power. He'll try to stand and bang with Rolles which is not what Rolles wants. Madsen would have just taken him down and got submitted.

  • My mistake, I'm just used to Strikeforce having events in California. That said, claiming Banks wasn't enough "competition" is not really different from coming to the conclusion that he didn't have the skills to put up a fight.

Wes Sims made more sense as an opponent because he at least had a name, especially coming off the latest season of TUF.

Against Rolles, Madsen might have used his wrestling in reverse anyway, kind of like he did against Justin Wren at the TUF10 Finale.

  • @jimbles666 damn houston lost again??? lmao

  • he lost to Beltran at 5150 combat.

  • how the fuck can ANY of you say just by this fight that he will get destroyed in the ufc just by THIS fuckin fight.....you guys are ignorant. Theres no way of knowing What will happen based on THIS fight mainly because of how he dominated. Id like to see how he does in a bad situation but come on he dominated this fight...yeah against a nobody but who the fuck cares stop making assumptions on how he ll do in the ufc just wait until his debut itll answer ....nothing lol al turk sucks dick hahaha

  • That is amazing for his first fight dumbass. In 2006 everyone knows about jiu jitsu. UFC started in the early 90"s

  • gracie were good when nobody could fight on the ground this guy is just nothing he ll get killed on ufc, remember it guys..........

  • don't be stupid if he has the attitude of Royce he should not have too much of a problem

  • there's still a bunch of HW's in the UFC that don't know ground...

  • yeah but they know better takedown defense and better stand up than this guy

  • fcuk stratka

  • Gracie is a name that makes me think of legand in MMA.

like what I saw, so I can't wait to see him fight AL TURK.

  • gracies clan rulez!

  • @hiddenspeak Kazushi Sakuraba begs to differ.

  • cool fight i bet on you in the upcoming ufc fight hope you win

  • i can t wait to see him in ufc

  • i can't for him to beat mustapha's ass

  • next ufc heavy weight champ

  • wow... future ufc heavy weight champ

  • he is talented on the ground, but he needs alot more experience in mma, bulk up, continue working on striking. Then i can expect him to be the ufc hw champ and take out lesnar.

  • yo if he's gonna try to take out lesnar he better bulk up a lot cus he's gonna be on the ground and get destroyed like frank mir

  • reminds me alot of rickson Hope this guy takes ufc by storm since he signed a 3 fight deal

  • UFC 109, Rolles Gracie vs Al Turk, can't wait!

  • He should steamroll Al Turk, what a can.

  • @RHart51680 true that, shit is going to be sick.

  • Rolles is the best , can't wait 2 c him at UFC

  • headslam, youll be choked or tapped just like the rest. ....... douchebag

  • This dude will get beat around like a little kid in UFC. They sign him because the Gracie stated the organization.

  • hmm i dont think soo, if u didnt already know, there are tons of gracie's, and u know wat, like 60% of them are in MMA, and Rolls is he onl ne to be signed up, and its Dana in charge not Renzo

  • co-founded*

  • Rolles, not Rolls. Rolls Gracie is dead, Rolls Gracie was one of the best BJJ fighters in the world, he trained my instructor Jacare Cavalcanti, the only 6th degree black belt under Rolls.

  • fair enough i made a slip up or 2 in that comment, but er wats ur point, ur instructer can woop my arse? okay, fair enuff

  • my point is that you said Rolls not Rolles, im correcting you so everyone knows that they are 2 different people.

I said nothing about my instructor kicking anyones ass.

But on the footnotes.. learn to spell.

  • lern tooo spel? fare enuff

  • no, steroids is and things of that nature is what the Gracies are against. they are "into" family pride, and devotion of BJJ and MMA.

  • @alliancejokerjitsu That's why Royce came up positive for the steroids Nandrolone

  • @alliancejokerjitsu didn't royce get done 4 roids?

  • @alliancejokerjitsu u kno royce used roids right?

  • @alliancejokerjitsu i remember a certain Royce Gracie testing postive for steriods after Matt Hughes broke his arm and beat him up...nothin against Rolles but get your shit straight

  • @3762569

He wasen't talking about Royce, he was talking about the Gracie family moto and family pride and devotion of the sport and art. He wasen't saying that Royce didn't use steriods. Also it sure is a pity that he did however... if we have to count all the people that use steroids, we ain't done for years. I don't understand why people even nag about Royce having taken steroids when for the biggest part Royce has been an amazing martial artist.

  • @MysteryHunterz if thats the Gracie family motto and the head of the household used steroids thats a pretty hypocritical statement. i understand all sorts of people have used steroids but none of them have used pride as a banner for their clinics then use steroids. and for the biggest part Royce broke arms and legs of people who didnt know anything about BJJ,even after they tapped and surrendered he would still break whatever he had of thiers till Big John pulled him off. is that honorable?

  • @3762569

Have you been in a situation where you had someone in an armbar? It's unfortunate when you break someone's arm however there are some points to look at here, for example... if You know you have a risk of having a body part damaged or even break an arm and you don't want that... don't fight.. do a different sport.

Also.. even if it seems he just breaks someone's arm, perhaps he doesen't notice someone taps out.

Pride and honor have more than one definition :)

  • @MysteryHunterz yes i have and as an honorable person i let go of the hold when the opposition tapped. i didnt just break his arm. as for your second point have you ever boxed? ever been knocked out? or as a counter example, ever had someone beat the crap out of you after you were knocked out? you know you were gonna get hurt but did you know the after beating was going to happen? would that be honorable? and in any of his fights the guys tap for several seconds. i dont see how you dont notice.

  • @3762569

Actually I train in Jiu-Jutsu so I do know. Also you don't have to tell me nothing about how the street works, I have had numerous of knives on my throat as well have 10 people beat me up at once, however this has nothing to do with the video, so lets get back at the subject.

What I was trying to explain is, that when you are so hyped in a fight to beat someone... and you hold someone in a submission, you might not notice that he taps out. We see it on tv so I noticed..

  • @MysteryHunterz i dont see how boxing had anything to do with the streets but go ahead and boast about yourself.

what dont you understand that i have literally watched Big John Mcarthy pull with all his might to make Gracie stop breaking something on someone. you cant make that honorable. my boxing example was if me and you were in an actual match and i knocked you down/out and i just piss pounded you on the ground i dont think you would buy my self defense DVDS

  • @3762569

You say you box, and perhaps you do, but you do realise that boxing comes from the time way back in the Ancient Greek times, where boxing came from the street, where bare fists were made to kill eachother. The modern boxing rules were made in England. So that is what boxing has to do with the streets.

Now even if Royce Gracie would purposely break someones arm.. why go on about for years, while theres enough other fighters who done just as less honorable stuff..

  • @MysteryHunterz you sir, are mission the point. you dont wanna aknowledge the legitamite information im giving you and for that i bid you farewell. i hope somewhere down the road you understand but until then.

  • Hey headslam1, the IFL has been done and over with for over a year now douche bag. Nice try keyboard warrior.

  • Wow dude , Just because you enjoy Submission Wrestlers and American Muay Thai fighters get all gay in the octagon doesnt mean that rolles GRACIE relative of the same guy who came into the first UFC's and ruined everyones shit via submissions of all sorts will get "beat around like a little kid"

  • He's a Gracie..That's how he "Rolles"!

LMAO!..Yeah..I'll stick to my day job.

  • hahahah thats so lame

  • he just signed a multi fight deal with the UFC. him and Al-Turk at 109. fukin sweet

  • He's gonna be good. Right now he is training at Greg Jacksons camp, so he will be more well-rounded.

  • BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU , lol ALOHA GRACIE

  • The crowd knows their shit! They started cheering when he passed the guard.

  • Poor show from Holloway

  • tht was my dads coach

  • is this rolles son??? the son of master carlos gracie??? brother of the grand master helio gracie?? i thought rolles gracie dies when he is 32 of age...

  • wtf are you talking aboot?

  • that's his son bro... rolles gracie jr

  • rolles gracie is the son of rolls gracie. the one who died in a handgliding accident in 1982. may have confused you since both names are spelt almost the same

  • yes, he is the son of rolles. grandson of master carlos gracie. the first rolles dead flyng in a "asa delta".

  • Rolls not Rolles.

  • Haven't we all seen this fight a million times before? Yawn

  • Brazilian Rules!!

  • ummm yeah like every freaking day......where the hell you been? lol

  • Nice! Jiu Jitsu 101 baby.

  • wasnt this his debut? he won~ :)

  • Damn another Gracie? Hell yeah!

  • se não bastasse a técnica refinada... as dicas do renzo no corner foram cruciais! que visão de luta!

  • Nice win Rolles.

  • muy muy fácil. jajajaja XD

  • Muy fácil parece..... pero de fácil no tiene nada ;)

  • VALE TUDO

  • You can really see how much Renzo is into the fight when it comes to family that is soo close.

  • Absolutely.

  • Rolles is a big dude, and I hope he fights mma more as well as comp bjj. Nice guy also. He looks like he has really heavy hands.

  • Perfeita a luta. Bateu sem apanhar, como diz o Renzo.

  • great fight!

  • always gotta have high expectations for someone with gracie for a last name good show for his debut
