my midas acts the same towards my tank magnet and towards other fish in the territory. but i have two albino tiger oscars and a nicaraguenesse and two pleccos. but its a shame you call that fish a red devil when you can clearly see that its a male midas cichlid by the bump on his head and by the lips. idiot. now some will argue that its the same fish because of cross breeding and all... but they arent. yours is a midas cichlid.

the redneck is about 7 years old and a semi hybrid.. most are.. this is a friends fish so i asked him and he thinks both fish have good personalities. good aggressive feeders. the choice would be a red devil hybrid for the color. 4ft tank is ok till about 3 years old. this one is in a 7ft and fluro grow lights are added to bring out the red spectrum a little more. he tried dividing it but the redneck wont have anything to do with it. all others had to be removed. cheers

what is the min tank size for a full size adult? 75 gallon> or like 300 l or what

i'd go with the devil if you want a "one fish" aquarium. The GT would be much more suitable for a community cichlid tank.

algae does show just how healthy the tank is... how clear is the water? if you have a tank with clean water and no algae then something is out of balance... how do you think it would look in nature? pretty much the same. the tank does get a full clean at intervals. health of the fish is 100%

near 30cm nose to tail and about 6+yrs old but wont stay still very long if we are around. got real excited when we pulled out the camera lolz. a real show off. we think it was the infra red light on the front that got him. im sure your devil would give him some much needed exercise. each fish has their own attitude, and this one developed his over the last 3yrs. classic fish. thanks for the comment, cheers
