  • Now this is what i call a port!

  • i lougth my ass off at 6,25 till 6,28,,m mean is,nt that great to hear diyng so many monster simonteniousely with 1 shot, man i can,t get enough off that.

i will allway lougth when i hear double the same sound atonce of dying soldiers ,like oo,ooaahh or oo,oohoooh, instead of ooaaahhh and ooohoooh!!!

  • @johneymute its 6:25 and 6:28

use : to activate the blue numbers

  • i like the title screen with the new ID software logo at 0:01

  • What can be better than fighting Satan's minions on the go!?!?

  • what about the rest of the levels

    do suburbs,the pit,tricks and traps,dead simple,circle of death,and Icon of sin

    whenever you feel like it.

  • @cameron20101000 well it does have 32 levels (including the wolfenstien secret levels) but they did cut half the levels since the GBA wasnt as powerful to make the version PERFECT

  • @killkenny5000 I got a Game Boy Advance yesterday around Christmas and god, THE SCREEN IS SO FUCKING DARK,IT IS HARD TO SEE THAT BASTARD.

If you own a regular version like me, the only way to adjust the light is to move the console until you can see better

I think SP model is easier to see light because they use that.

  • @cameron20101000 you do know you can play this on your gamecube just make sure you have the plug that goes in your GBA and GC

  • @killkenny5000 Will this work under Wii?

    I don't have Gamecube anymore.

  • @cameron20101000 i think so since the WII is backwards capable with gamecube disk and uses gamecube memory cards and controller slots

  • @killkenny5000 Yeah, just like PS3 is backwards capable with PS1 and PS2 games, with PS2 games (Both CD-ROM & DVD-ROM) it only works under PS3 slim version.

I'm not sure about Xbox 360 playing Xbox games.

  • @cameron20101000 actually its the old PS3's since 2006 and early 2007 that were backwards capable which they pretty much rare now for such a short lifespan then later they took out the backwards capability cuz it kept on having more corruptions than what the newer PS3's are so if you wannah PS3 and PS2 games without downloading then you gottah buy a PS2 and PS3 (their still selling PS2's)

    xbox 360 is backwards capable

i play DOOM 3 collector's edition on my 360 all the time

  • @killkenny5000 PS3 is 6 years old now, and 360 is 7 years old because, it was released in Late 2005.

  • @cameron20101000 well not exactly 7 years old since it was LATE 2005 so its pretty much like 6 1/2 year's old and PS3 was late 2006 so that be 5 1/2 year's old pretty much

  • @killkenny5000 Both of them looks promising, the PS2 Fat version is 12 years old in Japan, then 11 years old in America and Europe

Xbox and Gamecube are 10 years old.

I only hate the PS2 fat because, it has bugs:

    1. Disc read error/RSod will pop out in nowhere (Only when inserted a PS1/PS2 game in there whether is messed up or not.)

    2. Stop reading PS1 and PS2 Blue Disc games

  • @cameron20101000 maybe thats just your system

i too have a fat one and it worked great and had it for a little while until it finally wore out then later i switch with a slim silver edition

  • @killkenny5000 Me too, my fat one just stop reading Blue Disc and PS1 games around Febuary 2009, so in May 2009, i also switch with a slim PS2 sliver color and still going strong.

  • Comment removed

  • if u people have ever seen the grefics for doom gba..........i would rather eat my own barf

  • @mckee1001 i dont see anything wrong with doom 1 on GBA...to me i think the graphics has a little more darker texture than compare to doom 2 gba

but since for lack of bosses and horrible music i stay with doom 2 gba

  • What is the emulator called, i use Visual Boy Advanced

  • I don't use emulators. This is played on a Game Boy Player for the Gamecube.

  • The one gba game I kept after selling the rest along with my gba :) I like how the music sorta resembles the classic DOS version back in the 90s.

  • the shotgun shoots like a real shotgun instead of shooting shells in a straight line

  • @killkenny5000 Yea its very interesting how they made the shotgun shoot an irregular pattern in this port instead of the normal horizontal line like in every other version of doom ever made.

  • green blood?

  • I still have this game

  • @elbryan42 thx man. ill consider it and take your advice! thx again.

  • HEY GUYS WICH ONE SHOULD I GET ON THE GBA? DOOM, DOOM 2, OR WOLFENSTEIN 3D?

  • Stay away from Wolf3D like the plague (broken controls, no music, lousy framerate). Doom's great, but it's a port of the Jaguar version, so there's no crushing ceilings, missing enemies, and chopped up levels. Doom 2's completely uncut, done from scratch with the Duke Nukem Advance engine.

The only drawbacks I can think of from Doom 2 is sometimes your armor doesn't work right (a glitch), enemies can be caught in pits, and the mancubus can't shoot up or down.

Overall, Doom 2 is the best game.

  • @elbryan42 well the PSX port had the console port and clearly the PSX port is the only port that completed the console ports sega saturn not so much cuz of low framerate

  • @elbryan42 let's give Doom 2 on the Game boy advance a 3/5 (Good)

Although good game, but blood problem and mancubus problem

Archviles are funny in this port

Revenants and Pain Elementals are even shitter in this crap.

  • @NEWcuber298 Get Wolfenstein 3D, I like that better

  • @RevolverLochness why you like wolf3d better

u can strafe while running and no music

doom 1 has horrible 8-bit music but it has simple gameplay

doom 2 is much better since it has much better music and all bosses and levels

  • @RevolverLochness i mean cant strafe while running

  • @NEWcuber298 I agree doom 2 is my absolute childhood game i would play with this fos years with my brother and father and nopw couple o days ago i bought a gba and I could choose doom 2 with it and i didn't regret it! it's still the best and maybe the controls are better on gba than on pc.the first doom sucks

  • SNES version of doom + wii VC = BAM.

  • why is my version with crappy grafX???

  • the midi devicee for doom gba is

    opl synth

opl synth on zdoom = doom gba music... 90%-ly.....

  • I wish it had the gore though...lol a gba game rated M

  • @KartKing4ever GTA weas M! and for some reason Midway Arcade.....

  • The green blood in this version I think is kinda funny. It reminds me of the Japanese version of Mortal Kombat II on SNES.

  • The doors are weird in Doom 2 GBA. You can hear sound of a switch when you open a door and when the door reaches the top you can hear the sound of an elevator reaching it's destination. So the door could be a switch that raises the ceiling. I don't know.

  • I like his face if he picks up a new weapon.

  • Hmmm. The music is not bad. I heard there is a secret room with Nazis. You think its an easter egg with Wolfenstein?

  • @Squadalha Yep, there's a hidden Wolfenstein in this game (without fylfots and all that). The funny thing is I never heard about Wolfenstein before (didn't have that much to do with videogames back then) . But this level looked kinda interesting to me so I asked a friend about it.

  • Has anyone else noticed this bug? Once he passes a level his armor stops going down when he's hit. Then once he picks up his first bit of armor it starts working properly again.

  • i just got this game now its so awesome!!!!!!! anyone reading this whos thinking of picking this up, dont think anymore buy!

  • @joshAKAtheman i agree, it cost me 30 or 40 bucks on amazon but it is awesome, better than the first gba port in every way!

  • Video makes me dizzy but I'm sure it looks better on the GBA screen

  • this port for gba is real good

  • This game is fucking clean man!

  • Green blood?! WTF

  • The censorship is probably something we gotta live with, considering the developers, Torus Games I think, were looking to amke some money from the hyperactive kids in the gamging crowd. But this is probably the best port of DOOM 2 you can get. Probably one of the few ports of it there is that is as you said, very accurate.

  • It's a very darn shame this game is rare as heck.

  • This is the best, and probably almost the only port of Doom II that was made officially. Now where's the port to connect the keyboard & mouse on my GBA...? Nah, just kidding. Surprisingly, the controls aren't too bad on this version. What I like about this the most is the fact you can have up to 4 players! Just like in the original! I know that goes the same for DOOM on the GBA. But I like DOOM II's original deathmatch better because the levels work out well for deathmatch.

  • Lol @ 2:52 the shotgun's spread makes a question mark. :P

  • You should try this using com....SOOO diffcult to aim...

  • Pretty impressive for the GBA hardware.

I had both GBA dooms but I regretfully sold them for some reason.

  • This port of doom was awsome it had all the PC levels (as far as i remember) and it had the proper PC end boss as well.

  • YES! Nice to know that this doesn't lag when played with the Game Boy Player of the GameCube! :D

Guys, here's the downside to ordering this over the 'net:

    It's usually at least $20.

  • I would so buy this if I randomly found it at gamestop, lol.

  • Do the monsterz respawn??????????????

  • I'm playin this on my computer on god mode

  • Much better than the first GBA port, definitely. Great to have Doom II on the go without too many concessions on the software.

  • LOL German version, no blood since it's illegal in video games sold in Germany :)

  • @VeeFord Actually...the blood was changed to green on all versions, giving it a T rating.

  • Well the only limitation is that it can't play music but that's it.

  • i used to play this from 5-13 year old until my W95 broke... also had Ultimate Doom, heretic, wolfenstein 3d and duke nukem.

  • I find it strange that they toned down the violence yet still kept all of the satanic imagery, with the rivers flowing with red blood and pentagrams and such.

  • Still, it was a very nice port noetheless. They really should port some ofe these FPSes to DS.

  • Yeah the should of make Doom 64 DS ;)

  • Doom 64 on the DS would be sweet, since DS cartridges can hold quite some data.

  • @Games5522 well u can play GBA games on the DS so which u can play this game on DS :)

  • i hated that once you killing enemy,s in gba doom1,2 they dissapear,so you can,t see where you were left off.

  • Heresy! The shotgun's spread is different to all other ports!

Accursed Duke Nukem Advance engine! :P

  • lol in my gba blood is red))

    (sorry for my bad english)

  • how is the blood red in your GBA doom2? i got doom 1 on GBA and the blood was green in that, which sucked big time!

  • how did you make the blood red? You're kidding aren't you?

  • lol awesome graphics for gba =)

  • looks really good

  • green blood? what the hell? goddamn these nintendo censorship lamers. never buying any of that crap myself

  • Sigh, it wasn't Nintendo that censored it.

I'm sick and tired of this notion that Nintendo censors everything. Heck, BMX XXX isn't censored on the Gamecube, nudity and all. It's the publisher's choice to get a lower rating to sell more copies for a system that more kids buy.

Nintendo hasn't forced anyone to censor anything since Mortal Kombat 1 and Wolfenstein 3D, both for the SNES.

  • forced or not, that was quite a lame move... DOOM was pretty much an adult or at least 15+ game from the very start... did they remove human corpses as well?

  • They only removed the corpses to keep up the framerate (there can be a lot of sprites on screen in Doom) as well as strategically putting walls all over the place to keep the sprites drawn down as well.

The markers for the corpses are there though, as the Archvile can still reanimate them.

  • Wait? Wolfenstein 3D let me quess the swastika?

  • Thw Wolf3D levels are weird. They use the Return to Castle Wolfenstein sprites for the swastikas, crosses, etc.

  • @elbryan42 - Actually Nintendo did require iD Software to change alot of the elements within the game in order to sell it on their consoles

  • Then explain to me why Wolfenstein 3D for the GBA was completely uncensored. I require proof that Nintendo made id Software change the content.

Nintendo forced censorship for the SNES port of Wolfenstein 3D. That's the only id Software game that I know of that was censored because of Nintendo. When the ESRB ratings started, they stopped force censoring. Doom for the SNES was uncensored.

  • i thought nintendo had got over that no blood in video games crap years ago! when mortal combat 2 came out on the SNES that had heaps of the red stuff, so did doom 1 when it came out on the SNES! now years later they decide to go back to their old ways?

  • Man, It was not nintendo, ID maked the blood green for the game turn T because 50% of the GBA owners were kids and another 25% only borught pirated games, so it was pretty clever but still shitty... I want a psp doom (i already got the homebrew but i want a official one)

  • both doom one and two for gameboy advanced are not rare here in the pal regions can we expect a full review some day?

  • Do u use emulator coz i know you don't like emus?

  • Nope, no emulator. This was recorded using the Gamecube Gameboy Player, as well as using the Hori Digital Controller.

  • Everything about this game is fine, the only thing that pisses me off is the fact that there is green blood, and odd sounding music. But still, this game, overall is great.

  • what happened to ultra violence (im not the first to ask this i bet) is nightmare the same as UV?

  • On the GBA, yes, Nightmare's the same as Ultra Violence. There's no respawning, fast monsters Nightmare mode besides the PC, XBox, and XBox360 ports.

  • and why is the blood green? is it to reduce the violence level of the game?

  • Yes, it was. A lower ESRB rating means they can sell it to a larger audience. And since a large part of the GBA audience are kids, I'd consider it a good idea. Unfortunately, both Doom GBA games are quite rare. :|

  • no kidding, i can't find any copies of it. By the way, your vids are awesome!

  • I have GBA DOOM 2. It doesn't lag at all and it has all the weapons, enemies, and levels. I think it's the best game for the GBA. (also the screen isn't as fuzzy as you see it in other videos)

  • I didn't think that the GBA had any 3D capability whatsoever; I thought that it was restricted to just the 2D platform only. I'd like to see Doom 64 ported to the gameboy, that'd be awesome!

  • I wanna buy this game more than Doom 1, because DOom 1 doesnt really look so good. Too bad its almost out on the internet.

  • well I heard this lags horribly

  • well then it's still awesome. i just ordered doom 64, as well as time splitters 2, and Future Perfect.

  • my only question is, do you even have to aim vertically in the doom games, or does it do the bastards still die even though it doesn't look like you're shooting directly at them?

  • No, you don't aim vertically, only autoaim. Doom was made before mouselook, vertical aiming, and such. And it doesn't need it.

  • great vid man, DOOM 2 GBA looks a lot better than DOOM 1 GBA, I have this game ordered on EBAY and am waiting for it.

p.s. I really like your website!

  • Thanks. :)

  • for me, doom 1 was a big dissapointment, the graphics are really blurry on episodes 2 and 3, the music really is bad too, i want DOOM 2 GBA now, from your video, i can tell the music is better, is this doom game better from the first GBA DOOM? do u watch MJCreview's doom videos? he rated DOOM 1 GBA as an "B" and DOOM 2 GBA an "A", i need your opinion, please?

  • GBA Doom 2 is an excellent game. It was made by the same people as Duke Nukem Advance, and it uses the same engine. IMHO it's better than GBA Doom 1, but the controls don't feel as smooth to me. But when you get used to it, it's the best FPS on the GBA.

  • can you turn the blood red?

  • Nope.

  • doom 2 in a great technology

  • are you able to blow enemies into gibs in this port?

  • Unfortunately, no. :|

  • And the blood is green, even for the players. Thats just plain silly

  • This is a much better port than Doom I was.

  • Yes it is, since it's done by a different developer. It's done with the same engine as Duke Nukem Advance. Those guys really know what they're doing.

  • Yes, Torus Games is pretty nice handling ports.

  • Good representation of the PC version

  • dead bodies dissapear after a certainammount of tim to witch they dont do in other dooms

  • But don't forget, they can still be brought back to life by the Arch-Viles, even though the corpses are invisible. And since this is the only console port (besides the ones in Doom 3 for the XBox) with the Arch-Viles, that makes it forgivable. ;)

  • even with all the stuff they cut out and altered, it still baffles me as to how its not an M anyway, i mean, you play a guy chainsawing dmons from the pits of hell...lol

fuck it, doom rules, been playing it since i was 4 years old LOL

  • Blood green?

  • The green blood got them a lower rating, so they could sell it to more people (in other words, kids). The game is still outstanding, green blood doesn't change that.

  • Hellz yeah, nintendo did a real good job on this game. I wanna get it!

  • ???? whats with you? Nintendo didn't make this game. ID software did.

  • I mean nintendo making it possible on the gamesystem.

  • So NIGHITMARE! Very good

  • I have Doom, doom 2, and a bunch of wads on my pc, and Doom on my xbox 360 which is really good. Im trying to find a way to get Playstation Doom, any ideas how

  • EBay, or pawn shops.

  • Or, for a less conventional way, google "Ps1 emulator"

  • They made green blood, disappearing corpses and removed some scenes to avoid M rating.

  • I never understood why the blood in this game was green.

  • Lower ESRB rating. Lower rating means a bigger audience that can buy it. And since handheld gamers tend to me younger, it was a smart move IMHO.

Now as a Doom fan, I kinda miss the blood. But Doom's about gameplay, not just gore. ;)

  • Personally, I think Doom was the best FPS game of all time, because of the way it shook the gaming world when it released. I loved it on the PSX, and I thank you for posting your videos to remind me of the good times I had with it before my disc was smashed against a wall. :(

Now I play Doom occasionally on the Xbox 360 Arcade, and multiplayer. I made only one video, of the "Tower of Babel" level.

  • i have the first doom for the snes and it's hard cuzz there is no deficulty setinges or any thing good like that gives me a head ack
