Logans Run was the first film soundtrack I ever owned.I loved the electronic sound to this film .A classic soundtrack by the late Jerry Goldsmith.Thanks for posting its very much appreciated.

This is one of my fav movies. I really hope they don't make a remake of this. The best part is the 70's view on how the future will look. If Hollywood remakes it I"m sure they will do a crappy job, just like they did on Planet of the apes, Rollerball, and the new Clash of the Titans will probably be a crying shame too. Why not kill all the classics ? how about The Warriors, or Good,Bad,and the Ugly, Escape from N.Y., E.T.,

Jerry Goldsmith : another great score. Awesome opening music. Rivals John Williams opening music of Superman as the camera swoops down over Krypton. Astounding music.

This was one of the last big SF films before the Star Wars era began. Classic film. Jerry Goldsmith's soundtrack is still kick ass.

If a remake of this is really ever made i'm sure it will suck.

Yes, it was shot in a Mall, but MGM spent a ton of money on it.

Awesome vision of the future-and a great story of the power of love between two people.

It caught the concerns of the time. In the 70's, shopping malls were seen as the future of shopping - everything under one roof, in an air-conditioned environment, free from the extremes of the weather, with cafes and eateries, beauty salons, dentists and doctors clinics, you could spend the whole day there. Worries about pollution and resource shortages suggested that euthenasia and domed cities would also be necessary.

@ForceMaximus84 I believe most of the Dallas locations still exist. The building @ 2:20 with Jenny leaning on the rail is still there. Unfortunately the site of Great Hall runner scene at the begining of the movie was torn down in 05. The sad thing is that it hadn't changed in 30 years. It still looked like the it did in the movie.

@gravijiga Hi. If you mean the pic with Jenny on the rail it was the Bruton Park Building now called Park Stemmons. From recent pics it looks the same today as it did then. If you mean the Great Hall (which doesn't appear in this video) that was the Dallas Aparel Mart. As I said It looked just like the movie till the day it was torn down in 2005. :(

This movie had a truly outstanding musical score, and quite an outlook on the future of its time, which may be now. Thanks for posting.

The opening of this theme is so evocative--the heavy repeating synth notes seem like the future rushing up to meet us, and the ominous, uncertain horns and strings evocative of how wrong that future went, however spectacular and exotic its shallow glories. And the creepy, overtly "sci-fi" sounds really cement the cold technocracy of it.
