  • nice salamander you've got there ^^.

  • i remember when i got one when i was little. i named him lewis. i bought him when he was dark green and had gills until he was turning black and gettin yellow spots. he was a hell of a salamander

  • Killing MACHINE!!!

  • @SalaComMander hay do you play tug of war with a night craller, that is cool

  • No, never tried that. I may have to next time I get one (here's an interesting story, as you probably know tiger salamanders are poisonous, and one of my salamanders ate the other (Halo announcer says: DOUBLE KILL))

  • lol my salamander is a sonoran tiger his name is godzilla cute huh?

  • do they bite ? can you handle them ?? are they tame?? do they trie to run while you handle them

  • this god damn salamber looks like a piece of crap that moves and etas crickoze. poo shit eating crickoze is a silly silly thought. what's up with the poo shit shooter and the crickoze slamamber. fuckin shit.

  • he looks kinda stressed and the dirt sticking to him i an indicator of dry skin

  • @Animal1204 how do you keep him wet all the time???

  • @cass1999 by rubdubbin the clitoral stimuli

  • @Animal1204 how insightful of the slamber. but you care not to mention one wordly about the crickoze the slamber is eating up like a good pie. what is up with those crickoze hippity hoppan round and round while the slamander slurpity slurps them up. animal1204, if you truly love nimals, then why not say one word thing about the crickoze, huh? They animals too, no? Or are you one of those jolly guys who says they insextids and not mammals. that's not the case. so say something about the crickoze.

  • your over feeding it. its gonna get fattt!!

  • @talktolife hahahaha. a big old fatty salmember is a sily silly thought. whats he going to get fat of? chocolate is tasty, but caramel makes you fatty, that's my catch phrase. but those aren't chocolate or caramel covered crickoze, are they now? so how's this salamder going to get overweight you say? i'd need to know like how soon? hahahha

  • @bassplayer19 lmao hahaha! i kno it sounds wired but seriously, only because they are not veary active at all soo if you over feed it its just goin to get sick, you should only feed it about 3 crickets a day.

  • those crickets don't look normal! white crickets?

  • @BranMufffin hey dude its called calcium dusting

  • @BranMufffin white black crickoze. they aint no races. no need to bring your racist jargon into matters of the crickoze are the slamder choosing white over black crickoze. aint no racism in the animals of the world. thats a man trait that mans make up. you bring your man traits to matters of the crickoze and salmabers is an unfortunate, unfortunate thing. take it elsewhere off this video site.

  • @bassplayer19 Ok but really if you saw a BLUE watermelon then I'm pretty sure you'd say something! but if you herd someone say, "A BLUE watermelon? That's not normal!!!" you'd come in and say, "Oh that's racist! YOU PIG!!!" no I wasn't trying to be "racist" I just never knew there were white crickets!

  • @BranMufffin I don't know about this stuff Davey. When you say words about blue melons, why not say nothing about cerulean melons or wysteria melons, huh? Why blue? Cuz it's all racist jargon is why. Some humans hate races without knowing that they are a racist person. This case may fall upon you, muff. You know crickoze are not thinking those words, and melons certainly don't think those words, cuz they have no brains in the fleshy flesh pink melon juices. so ease off. your racist, but dont kno

  • i youst to have one when i first saw it it looked like a crap lol... but then it MOVED!

  • frogs in lizard form ;) I use to have one about 8 years ago

  • my axolotl grown into a salamader is that normal?

  • I think so....

    Axolotls are like tadpoles.

  • no, it is probobly a waterdog or mudpuppy. axolotls are fully aquatic and have gills through their life. when they are babies they dont have limbs until they grow them. if it stays out of the water it is not an axolotl

  • it isnt an axolot

axolots dont supose to transform into salamanders and salamanders grow up like axolots but they transform later i hope this information helps you

  • @looterwolf rARE

  • @looterwolf it means that there's enough nutrients and good stuff for it to actually grow into a "normal" salamander

  • @looterwolf no and its normally an indicator of stress but can you let me know if you post a video of it? i have never seen one thats morphed

  • you shouldn't feed it that many crickets. one to two is good for one day

  • like 3 years ago my friend and my found a baby salamander in the mud :)

  • The crickets are all going towards it...

Omg Salamanders are soo cuuute :D

  • Oh my gosh, so cute.

  • y r some tiger salamanders big and mine r as big as urs???

  • You seriously need to get a better substrate.....one that doesnt stick to him like that and get into his eyes. also give him a bath and hides!!!

  • i love my tiger salamander!

    His name is Alex.

  • should be called salamander NOT hunting crickets.

  • Hey dude, I'd like to buy one, where can I do it?

    5/5

  • if you live in the northern hemisphere just go out side and flip over a few logs and stuff and you'll find one eventually....

  • Dude, you should look up some tips on housing a salamander.

  • what is the price of a Tiger Salamander ,,,and what calcium do u use d3 what CAN ANY 1 ANSWER

  • thats probably the place they put it in just to eat and put it back in its cage after it eats i do that with mine

  • I have a Tiger Salamander. He a dry world in which he can burrow and hide and a pond (de-chlorinated) that he loves to swim in and watch the world go by. He seems to be a very happy Salamander.

  • yes some do but most salamanders stay away from water and stay in moist spots like under rocks and other places

  • yup

  • Comment removed

  • Nice,I had a tiger s. when i was a kid its name was joey..I used to feed it nightcrawlers, crawdads minnows bug,it would eat anything!Considering it was about 11 inches long it would eat just about anything it could put in its mouth

  • dam that was pretty fast

  • Damn, real eating machine! :P Nice video.

  • My salamander eats goldfish, that is much more extreme hunting, and you feel sorry for the fish when they all try to hide.

  • i have a pet salamander like that hes lived almost a year now

  • you need water for him, do you have a water dish?

if you dont you can buy them at the pet store or use a bole for him cause he will dry out if he has no water!!

  • it's probably just a feeding enclosure. i think someone with a screen name like his would at least know they need water dishes

  • bole is spelled bowl.

  • 1- this is youtube, so nobody really cares about spelling, except people who have nothing else to say about people in arguments.

2- you replied to the wrong person. i'm not the one who said that.

  • tiger salamanders dont need a water bowl as long as you keep its cage moist most salamanders never go into the water

  • oh cool, thanks for tellin me :)

  • ?.. My salamander often sits in a cap of water during night... and she have moistured moss on the floor of her 4-litle ice-cream bucket

  • that sally is very nice looking, i hope you have atleast 10 gallons preferably 20 for him when he gets 1 foot long.

  • dont salamanders like uhhh water?

  • yeh but they dont need it all they need is damp soil

  • Leuk filmpje.

  • Dosen't it need to be kept moist in order to live?

  • cool i want one =3

  • they need water dumbass

  • Then how does it eat crickets?

  • That habitat seemed a little too dry for him

  • this is a crickets scary movie

  • SALAMANDERS ROCK!

  • where did you get that? where do they sell them for low prices? answer on my homepage!

  • you can get them at reptile city for 40 bucks

  • nice lol :P does it live also in water ?

  • do they just need a spot to live and soil..... no lights or anything

  • Cute! I always wanted salamanders too. Fat chance I'll find them as pets in Australia though...

    So lame!

  • nah man, i have a friend who has a salamander, and we live in Queensland :-)

  • yo were do they sell salamanders there awsome i always wanted one

  • You can find mudpuppys which is the larval form of salamanders or else you can by them up in Wisconson Dells.

Last time i went they were selling white mudpuppys.

  • where did u get it? where do they sell tiger salamanders?

  • u can find them in creeks and under rocks in damp places but there really fast

  • He is really active unlike mine who sleeps all day..

  • It's great watching this huge sucker take out those crickets! He's a really healthy and hungry specimen!

    Are they always so active?

  • Hey where did u get that salamander

  • must be hard for those fuckers to get food in the wild lol

  • In California thereis a jail sentence for having any type or tiger salamander in captivity. Not supposed to touch them.

  • they are endangered in some states. I'm glade they aren't were I live ( alabama )

  • I found out when I picked one up off the road and tried to find out where is a safe place to release it. I got fined for not leaving it on the road where it could get run over.

  • harsh law.

  • I work in a museum that has one of these characters and they are very neat creatures with real personality. Mine seems to respond to people speaking to it.

  • I have one of these little guys and they're really quite amazing creatures. Mine is either sick or hibernating now, however, as he hasn't eaten in weeks and is really lethargic. Yours looks healthy and playful, so keep up the regular care.

  • sick or hibernating...

    Quite a drastic descriptive.

  • dude i have one question where did yu get it and does it fuking bite lmao cuz isnt poisonest

  • i got it at a petshop dont remember which tho. Yes it bites but it doesnt have sharp teeth so it doesnt hurt at all.

  • but wouldnt dull teeth hurt more, since you could feel it more? like a sharp tooth could cut in easier and faster, but a dull one would take more time and harder

  • ur a real bright guy doggarrs ;)

  • do you know why a doctor uses a SHARP and POINTY needle? so it could cut in faster with less pain. if the doctor used a DULL and NOT SHARP needle then everyone would bleed to death because its dull

  • i had one of these once, purchased it in the aquatic stage and slowly removed water and raised the temperature of the aquarium and it turned out to look quite similar to this a few weeks later. awesome pet.

  • $50.00

  • how much did he cost

  • I wanna see how he eats all of them .. it's a cool video seeing how the salamander acts around food

  • pretty cool but the soil and the salamander look a little dry

  • he was just in there too eat

  • that is soooo disgusting i cant beleive i am watching it

  • Then dont

  • ya thats way better i mean how can u look at it

  • awsome

  • i getting salamader or newt soon

  • Oh he's cool!!!

Tiger Salamanders are not illegal to keep everywhere, or else they would not be available in stores and shows that are regulated.

  • Nice clip, cheers

  • Tiger Salamanders are illeagal to capture, harm, or engage in such contact in any way.

    Its adorable though. :)

  • Maybe in your jurisdiction but not here. It's always good to check your state law regarding certain animals though.

BTW I just picked up five today lol.

  • You think this is clever?

    You should be ashamed.

    PRAISE HIM!

  • lol. that was a temp box because i was moving things around in his tank.

  • hunting? more like eating in a box

although its as natural as ya can get it

  • I also read that they sell the babies at fishing stores, but i havnt seen any.

  • another thing that is possible you can always ask if pet stores could special order any pet

  • yeah ive looked in a lot of pet stores but they never seem to carry newts or salamanders. What was the name of the pet store you got yours at?

  • pets discount :)

  • The pet store, but they hardly have them for sale

  • Cool tiger, I am interested in getting one where did you get yours?

  • Lusty one..too much crickets at the time!

  • how big is it

  • About 9 inches

  • P.S. That's a sweet lookin salamander. I love the of its markings!

    <3

  • *color of its markings.

  • To eriinnxo:

    Stupid uneducated fuck.

This is an EASTERN TIGER SALAMANDER. This species is common in North America, and is classified under LEAST CONCERN on the conservation chart.

The California tiger salamander, the one that is endangered, is very different and doesn't even LOOK like this one.

This person has every right to keep that salamander in captivity.

Don't make accusations that severe if you don't even know what you're talking about.

  • Thanks for informing me of that because I also have an eastern tiger salamander and the people at petco said that it's illigeal to keep those so be careful (I caught mine in my pool)of how many I keep
