no, it is probobly a waterdog or mudpuppy. axolotls are fully aquatic and have gills through their life. when they are babies they dont have limbs until they grow them. if it stays out of the water it is not an axolotl

The California tiger salamander, the one that is endangered, is very different and doesn't even LOOK like this one.
