i once had grundig tape deck with the same drawer like mechanism. only real difference was that it was considerably thinner than this one.

unfortunately, 2 of the plastic gears of the actual tape mechanism had stripped, and i was never able to find replacements for it :(

sold it on ebay to a collector. he messaged me later on that he managed to machine replica gears out of metal, and that the deck has been fully restored for his collection.. i kinda want it back now lol :D

@owocowy89 Przesyłka kurierem kosztowała 30 zł, ale było warto, jeden już dostał nowe życie i właśnie pięknie gra :-) Wkrótce będzie film na moim koncie, więc możesz subskrybować mój kanał. Jego stan wizualny nie jest rewelacyjny, wygląda jakby miejscami wylał się na niego rozpuszczalnik (pozacierane niektóre nadruki) i szybka od skali już pożółkła... Ale i tak nie jest tragedia i ważne, że nagrywa i odtwarza rewelacyjnie, zwłaszcza jak na sprzęt po takich przejściach ;-)

Wow, you have some really nice equipment there. I have a few of the older Marantz receivers, they work great! I also used to have a Nikko ND-720 deck that I got used. Finally wore out after many, many years of very heavy use.

Weird, weird. Yes, you can play the tape with closed drawer. Anyway: playing tape in this position is not good. Tape was forming into a cone while playing. BTW. it's polish audio equipment (I'm not talking about Marantz below).

oh, polish Unitra they make great equipment, polish audio industry "sleep" vey long time, but it slowly get up, for example biggest factory in poland "Diora" comes again in non fare time :D (sorry but my english isn't well)
