Trying to lose 20 lbs on a stationery exercise bike over the winter. Cranking out air guitar on the pedals. Rocking the drum beat and the calories are flying off! . In awe of the gorgeous presentation...
@paulapaularaejohnson I was thinking the same thing. I found out that he is one of the best sessional guitarists in the world and his name is Philip Palmer. He's a beauty!
Possibly my favorite Mark Knophler song, but then they are all so great, it's hard to say which is my favorite. Clapton really does add something special to this. P.S. I am in love with the back up singer with the derby hat, she rules!
I heard that Knopfler actually wrote it for Jeff Healey who was cheeky enough to send it back to him as he (Healey) thought it needed changing/improving. Knopfler wasn't impressed.
@gtgtclolmwah - That's true. He even played it during the last DS tour a couple of times. A lot greater version than this, and this is still really good.
...we not just gonna, we gonna play another song as well this baby's only 2 months old we gonna do another record , this one might be on it , it might not. alright...1 2 3 ba oh yeah dig it man
Mark wrote this song for Jeff Healey but Mark played this song with the notting hillbillies to and here offcorse and what a sound of his Pensa-Suhr mk1 !!!! :D
but some songs of jj cale also sounds like eric write them.
eric and mark have played many times together. i think most of the songs sound like songs that mark or eric wrote, cause there were an inspiration for each other. and i understand that cause they are also a great inspiration for me to play guitar.
they are both legends.
and the inspiration for mark and eric was jj cale so that has a lot to do with the songs.
i think that is why there songs look a bit like each other
Is it David Knopfler, Rhythm guitar & Vocals?

@guitarfantamagasmic Nope! It's Philip Palmer. He's a sessional guitarist - one of the best there is.

For me both Knopfler & Clapton are musical geniuses. This is flawless. Jeff Healey also totally nails this song.
