According to constitution, Majles votes and give its confidence to a leader and then Shah follows the wish of Majles and agrees that leader to become Prime Minister, even if don't like that leader. What happened in August 17, 1953, was a counter coup. Mossadegh disobeyed the Shah's constitutional decree and his army chief Mahmoud Riyahi brought the troop out. The Grand Ayatollahs, bazaries, civil servants & the army staged a counter coup 2 days later. Americans did not even have the ime to digest the unfolding events. To appease the Mullahs, discrediting the Pahlavis has been order of the day for the past 35 years. The Shah was the reigning monarch since 1942 & Mossadegh was his servant.

True. Mossadegh did not want to nationalize at first. The Anglo Iranian Oil Company forced him to because they refused to be audited. He only wanted to be sure Iran got its 16% royalties.
