  • These MG ZT and 75's are absolutely beautiful, and to me captures exactly what a British car should look like. Jaguar used to have that look, but sadly they lost their classy look. One of these MG's is what I plan on buying when I move to the UK to be with my fiancee. What exactly is the differences between the ZT and the 75? Thanks!

  • That useless short-sighted shower of s**t in Westminster are to blame. Look at the coupe and the other projected 75 models that they have robbed us of. Now all we are going to get is a rattle trap from China that calls itself an MG and something called a Roewe. It makes me sick that to buy a main stream british car we have to make do do with asian box that's assembled here, and we're supposed to be proud they love them in Japan. Bloody politicians

  • Stunning coupe!

  • bloody nice, BMW 3 series seat adjusters?

  • Those silly big wheels spoilt the proportions of the beautiful 75v coupe

  • oh no Bethnal from The Getaway

  • what is the piece of music right at the end??? Thanks Thomas

  • This looks like a really nice car, what a shame I've never ever seen one on the road.

  • haha, even though in the descrition he describes the engine as a single cam model, yet when he shows picture of a moving engine its clearly a twin cam

  • What is the name of song?? Thanks

  • @magiclions, Devil Trill by Vanessa Mae

  • american engine, british engineering, best combo me thinks

  • i am after a v8 rover 75 estate, // did they produce one

  • The German boss Joseph Piet... something, I forget how to spell mis name. Sorry guys, sorry Joseph. Who owned Rover years ago wanted to revive the name Riley, in homage to the great coupes of yesterday. Later the consortium was about to do the same and the Rover 75 Coupe was to be the car to do it, named Riley Coupe. It looked a beutiful car. Shame.

  • I don't get it, where is the car? I can't belive they never released that car. I've never liked rovers untill I saw that coupe.

    Fuck.

  • the only thing that let rovers down were the k series engines that were derived from honda

  • @spliffthedog

The K series engine was a Rover design. The Honda unit as used in the Rover 216 and 416 were Honda D series engines as used in the Honda CRX and were very reliable. No head gasket issues unlike the under developed K series. And as for the KV6 - damn, they should have stuck with the Honda 2.7 V6 as it was a much better and simpler engine. The warranty repairs on the K series and KV6 alone probably contributed to Rover's demise.

  • @TK42138 i have known honda engines of the same era to have head gasket failers i know this cos i bought one stripped it then scrapped it and also my father had a s16 and a 416 and they both went the same way so i think they did its just the media and such didnt make it public as honda have alot of lawyers that stop that sort of thing getting to the media

  • guys! have a look at the singleframe......the coupe-concept was made in 2003 and released in 2004....and audi has the singleframe-grill since 2004.....something is stolen here.weird things going on with the new "best car manufacturer".

or vw does a 1.4l engine with turbo and supercharger to get more power and less emission........nissan did that with the march super turbo in 1988....hm.

or mazda eunos cosmo. it has a touchscreen a/c and tv on board in 1991 or 1992......good stuff....right?

  • motor ford v8 patetico demasiado perezoso es mejor que lo hubiesen montado un 2.0 turbo

  • Bonito para el ojo y para el oido! Beautiful

  • That newer model of Rover 75 looks just so fucking hot, I would really like to get one with V8 engine...

  • WHY DO AMAZING CARS LIKE THESE have to run out of funds to kept being made?? yet we have these god awful kias and daewoos and shit which clog up the roads with their unimaginative design and boring pro's and cons. Its painful to think that the company that brought us the classic 'needs no details' Rover V8 which has made a home in so many vehicles to this day!

    What has happened??

  • Well, because us british are too fuel conciseness & so is the governments.

Too also add , i cannot believe Japan & Korea are top sellers.

What is wrong with the british? Simple, everything !.

Yes the rovers weren't built like galactic gunships in the 70-80-90s but what was?

People who say bad words about MGR, Mercedes-Benz,BMW,PSA cleary dont know anything about what *REAL* Vehicles actually are!.

  • with japan its not hard to see why, i mean, 350z, Skyline, Corolla (personal love of mine, the MK3!) civics etc, they are all very nice cars! but like the Korean cars, they have NO nostalgia which is really sad because the cars that DO these days have burned out, i mean ilove the new mondeo, and Focus, for example, but they have no balls! all follow the same bubble rounded eco bullshit.

Sad, but just the way the world is going and NO ONE can do a thing about it!!

    True, Peace.

  • @Tait011 do some research. skyline has no nostalgia? 350Z? or Z-cars? even the corolla has a long past.

maybe they have no nostalgia for you but for me they def. have a long history.

  • Think we have to be as our fuel prices is in the top 3 dearest countries in the world !!!

  • Rovers in the 90s were pretty well screwed together, better bodies and more reliable than contemporary Fords or French/Italian offerings...

  • @Tait011 Because 99% of Rover's fell apart in 12 months, they had no understanding of build quality (I used to work at the Cowley plant, the cars were held together with snot and sticky tape!)

  • @malvcalv

Thanks, i really didnt want to hear or read any of what you had to say :)

Piss off from watching rover videos if you dislike them so much.

  • @Tait011 Don't get me wrong, I love Rover's, but they didn't made a decent car for 40 years. That's why they A: were sold for £10 (Entire company) B: went bust.

  • @malvcalv

To say they went bust because of their cars is quite a statement, there are fucking thousands of rover 25's /200 series cars on the roads today, i know loads of people who have had them and have been mroe reliable then most other cars still in production like Pugs and Vaux's, i currently own a 214SEi, and previously had a 214i that i bought as a PARTS car, worked perfectly well for 2 years, only got rid of it because someone went into the back of it and messed up the boot.

  • @Tait011

Rover were sold in an asset striping operation after Bernd Pischetsrieder left. BMW wanted the Mini marque because they needed a small front wheel drive car and a marque to sell it under. They wanted Land Rover experience for their X cars(though still messed it up without them) Rover have built some excellent cars over the last 40 years, but they weren't realy Rovers, they were Austin/Hondas. The Last great Rover was the SD1 Vittesse. Even though they were built by Morris from '81

  • @tomcat72uk Don't forget that Rover V8 that powered Rovers for 40 years was actually a Buick engine.

  • @GMisurdaddy Well actually, it was originally the BOP 215 (Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac 215 Cubic Inch) engine. A short lived engine it that guise, it was unpopular. The design was bought in from GM in 1964 and developed to be released in the P5 replacing the 3 Litre engine and also in to P6 3500. But it was developed to be a much more versatile engine in Rover/Leyland/MG guise than it ever was under GM's ownership.

  • @tomcat72uk Great engine none the less.

  • @Tait011 The company that brought you the "Rover V8" was actually Buick, Rover bought the engine's tooling from GM.

  • The coupe looks absolut fantastic!

  • I agree, the coupe is one gorgeous looking car, love the rear seats, amazing, the couple kinda reminds me of a last gen honda accord coupe we see here in the states, but the rover is infinitely better looking.

  • dont you mean SOHC as it stands for single over-head cam and not SOCH wich sounds like German.

yes you did is the answer to that. wicked

  • SOCH also sounds very Welsh, but yes,you are right

  • god thats just a waste not having put the two door coupe in to production it is a fantastic looking car in and out

Salu2

  • (the 2.5 24v V6 in the zt 190 makes 187 not 177, hence the name)

  • MG ALL THE WAY !

  • The MG TF V8? Wow how could they fit a TF in a mid-engined roadster as small as the TF lol.

I think you mean the MG ZT V8.

Btw, there was also a 385BHP version of the MG ZT V8, but it never made it to production thanks to Rover having to cut corners due to money worries.

They would have been better spending the money on the TCV, RDX65 or another 45/ZS replacement in all honesty.

  • Sorry, yes I mean the MG ZT V8 instead of the MG TF V8. The 385 HP version was the same engine as the Ford Mustang 4.6 L but with a big kompressor in order to increase its low performance. You're right, a 45/ZS replacement will help MG Rover more than the R75/MGZT

  • And I think YOU mean a V8 in a TF, not a TF in a TF, although that would be difficult.

  • Bahhhh lmao :-P

  • there was one ZT385 made...it was a blue ZT-T385

they weren't cutting corners - they ran out of money mid development

  • it's disgusting what the chinese did to the original Rover's styling

  • Nice car, what happened at the rover factory,s

  • (II)

For few years ago one of my dearest friends convinced me to sale the car to him. He is just in love with this cars sophisticated astatic. Very short after we become the lucky owner of a Rover 75. This is without any doubt the best car we ever have had. And I am going to drive this until my death (47 year old now). So the Rover as we says in my family is going to stay in the family and among friends (an other friend couple have decided to buy a Rover 75).

    continues...

  • To those, who transform the question of choosing car to a religious one. Before you become a believer of Toyota, etc, please try a genuine british car. It is like participating in a composition of a beautiful piece of classical music. Reflected as Bach, good as Mozart and beautiful as Beethoven.

Rover may never be produced again, but the finale act is one of the most beautiful in history and as tragic as Puccini's Tosca.

Best regards to all, who made this car possible.

    A non-British

  • Hi, (I)

I have had the pleasure of driving, Alfa, Saab, Maserati, Mercedes and BMW. Even though my heart beats for Maserati, It was still one of the greatest moment of driving cars when I bought my Rover 620 ti, 1995. The experience was unique. My wife felt in love with this car when she saw it and it was than bought. Few years later we become bleast with two children, but we accepted al difficulties and did not change our Rover 620 ti with uncharming boxes on wheels.

    continues...

  • How I wish that they would have made a couple of those rover 75 v8 coupe cars. I wouldn't have the money to afford it but it would have been great just to see one of those in real life. Absolutley amazing car!

  • 260hp from a mustang engine? Assuming it was the newest shape mustang, thats been detuned a bit...

  • The last all new shape Mustang 2009, with the sama engine, develops 300hp. Only 40hp more than the five years ago Rover 75 V8.

  • The engine does a etter job in the Rover than in that fowl American boat thay call the Mustang

  • Gyönyörű autó!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • pigeonkiller112, it says you come from Romania! How can you say English cars suck! you have to remember we built cars like the mini, Jaguar e-type, Aston martin db5 and hundreds more!! the only car you make is the Dacia which is French in the first place! so think what you say before you open your stupid mouth!!! OKAY?

  • listen dude, i never said dacia is a great car, but i think rover is worse. that's my opinion as a driver.

  • Well I own a Rover Mini which is a fantastic car! my dad has owned an SD1, a 214 and a 216. all of which have been fantastic and we never had any problems with them. and how can u have an opinion as a Driver when i bet you have never drove a Rover!

  • you would lose that bet, i've driven the 75 and it's a piece of crap, handles like a garbage truck. have you driven any dacia cars?

  • Not yet, but i dread the day!

  • well then, drop it already, this is really boring!

  • Ok, But you started it by putting "British cars suck". And millions of people will disagree with that. The moral of the story is think what you say before you say it!

  • i don't need this from a sixteen year old prick who thinks he's a driver. there's more to being a driver than just having a car, you'll see soon enough. nou cut it out, you're spamming my inbox. english cars do suck, you've just never driven a foreign car like a good beemer or a nice toyota.

  • Your opinion is that you dont like Rover. I disagree, but everybody is intitled to there own opinion. but you cannot say English cars suck because you havn't thought of the Thousands of other cars we made! 95% of cars built today have the front wheel drive, transverse engine that was first ever seen on a Mini! I could go on about how british cars and engineers have changed the world, but i think you are too stupid to understand!

P.S- BMW wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Austin!

  • you sir just don't know when to quit. i don't care about technical advances made by any english engineers, i'm just saying i dislike english cars and therefore in my opinion they suck. i didn't mean to offend you or anyone here.

  • Well said brett. Even the allegro had the first gas-suspension. And that was one of our crap cars!

  • yep, as i said, our cars had everyting first! Did u know that the Mini Clubman 1275gt was the firt car to have run flat tyres. Cheers Strot88! :)

  • yep, as i said, our cars had everyting first! Did u know that the Mini Clubman 1275gt was the firt car to have run flat tyres. Cheers Strout 88! :) (sorry bout the lozthedude94 coment, my sister was logged on 4 sum reason, lol)

  • iirc rover were the first car manufacturer to mount an engine transversley

  • im thinking aston martin, tvr and the ariel atom, they may be sports cars but they are still british and they are still good. now when you next say british cars are shit think about ANY aston martin, you will instantly prove yourself wrong, generalistaion ftl

  • Well said mate! cheers! :)

  • And you call yourself English!!!!

  • i'm not english...

  • let's face it.Brett is right here.the Rover 75/MG ZT twins could easily cut it with a 3-Series BMW at half the price.with a lot more style

and the Rover 75 with side airbags was the first car to attain 5 stars in Euro NCAP crash safety tests

  • That Rover 75 Coupé looks the business.

It's a Budget Bentley Continental. Let's hope they make it one day.

  • Tut tut - The audio on this video has been nicked straight of another video.

  • Yes, it has been ... but it's the best audio I`ve found! :D

  • I'll let you off this time =D

  • I DONT AGREE !!! I have one ! 200.000kms, and never had any big problems !

  • You prob had a Cowley era one.

    Longbride ones where better bulit

  • my rover 75 sounded like that when clutch went! Great video i wonder if the new rovers will come back to britian?

  • It is said that the chinese company will export the rover 75 (now called roewe 750) wich is very similar but with a different interior.

  • R.I.P.

  • Poor Poor company I love Rovers I wish someone would buy the company and start making Rovers as they where and really invest some time and money in to them!!:(

  • Good news mate. A chinese company have taken over and they are making new Mg's and rovers as we speak. It has been happening for a year or so. But Rover and Mg are not going to be working together like they used too. They are going their own separate ways. Which is good in a lot of ways. because one chinese company is concentrating on rover only, where the other is doing the new Mg's. But fingers crossed their should be some improvements. I have a Mg Zr 160 and it has been great from day one.

  • do you know if they are gonna send some new rovers to England??

  • Yea they are, but at first they are advertising them in china. Then after that they are bringing them here.

  • you dont want to buy a crappy rover lol.. buy a B.M.W insted,

  • Rover brand has gone forever, sold to india as a name and nothing more :P

  • don't even say that!!!

  • Im sure if the Coupé V8 went into production, it just may have saved rover, but probably not xD
