every ride in here was still around in the late fifties to early sixties, and i went on all of them (except the one with 8 or 10 spinning discs, i guess that was one of the first to disappear. and as hokey as the steeplechase ride itself seems, i can still smell the salt air and the sweat of my current crush. i don't like to live in the past, but "those were the days!!"
Most of the tunes on the soundtrack, in addition to the Whiteman number, are by George Olsen and His Music. They include Just A Little Thing Called Rhythm.
Makes you wanna go back to the Roaring 20s and visit Coney Island! Couldn't have rides like that today, you'd get sued :(
Does anyone know who provided the background music? One of the tunes--when they show the Steeplechase, going into the Witching Waves and Circle Swing--is Dancing Shadows, by the Paul Whiteman Orchestra. What about the others?

Truly amazing footage, and some of the best I've seen of the inside of Steeplechase Park! Thanks for posting it!

I wish I could have experienced the old Coney Island! Those rides look like a lot of fun! Especially the horse ride and the ride at 6:14.
