The failure is the notion that we could save on overhead costs for production by exploiting the cheapest labor available, rather than recognizing the value of hard working people. Perhaps you confusion stems from the fact that I embedded within my post the key issues which the democrat party and the left should have been emphasizing. I am more of a political centrist, so I do have concerns regarding both parties. Also, I never stated that the decision regarding war was inherent to a particular party. The the dems failed to articulate an economic plan during most of the Bush years. Prior to Bush the Democratic agenda only mirrored the republican plan. One of the greatest betrayals to American labor was the signing of Nafta and Gatt treaties. Which president did that? Now, that events have provided more clarity, I hope the Democrats will put the fringe aside, and work on the important issues.
