Beautiful. The theme reminds me of the movie, "Tombstone", where, at the end, Doc asks Wyatt what he wants. To Wyatt's response Doc says, "There is no normal, there's just life; now get on with it." I really got a laugh from, "Your death certificate, sir; why wont you sign it?". Sadly, very fitting for many. Sometimes, lately, with all the joy I've been finding in life, to the point of tears, I wonder if there's something wrong with me. If there is, I wont be seeking a cure.
@RichardRoy2 i hear you dear man ...life is the thing, and we're dead an awful long time......when i wrote this i wasn't really sure what i was saying...i was lonely.. disconnected...feeling very strange, and my fingerts typing had to keep up with what fell out of me there, for it was written in a moment....on reflection i can see that it's someone/me/anyone coming to terms with the flux of life and all our absurdities.
@marycigarettes 1a. Sadly, one of the things I find we get caught up in, is the insistance that things should only be regarded as "only a..." or "just a" because viewing things as interesting, extraordinary, amazing, fascinating, etc. is, perhaps, to expose ourselves to manipulation by others. Fear is a powerful motivator. I guess we become absurd when viewed through normal eyes. I get the impression normal is the mundane, the bland, that which makes no impression at all. But I've regained...
@marycigarettes 2a. ...my sense of wonder at so much that surounded me before, but allowed myself to dismiss. Now, I'll never live long enough. Thanks for your very interesting and amazing work.
This is the 1st video I saw of your inspiring work, Mary. I remember havin' a look at your channel and finding out 'Wow, he sings and plays too!' Hope Xmas day is grand man! Cheers!
amazing inner thoughts exposed,..articulation of what most eveyone wonders at one time or another, but never have the bravery to utter...what is normal? I once heard a doctor say we are ALL Bi-Polar, ..........love you Mary, you surely said it. this gem found via David randall Curtis, (I know, slow to get hip, am I)......I'm inspired now..........XOS, Laurie

thats great found it at random and glad i did.. nice work whoever you are :) the only reason u should ever ask urself if u are normal here is to make absolutely certain that you arent. mostly normal is a media construct, you can choose to be an advertising executives wet dream and follow the herd into conformity.. even if you succeed at that though you'll only have played someone elses game and succeeded on their terms, according to their rules...
I hadn't seen this one. A soul written upon black within the shared electric conscience. A manifest inner voice, outward found, unbound destiny. Well done.
An excellent reflection of soul searching marvelously presented, giving access to a shared mirror into human condition. This is a work which needs to be returned to over and again. Excellent reading. A great piece.
haha after watching it again i've realised it was 'now i'm freakin out' wow.. I must of been slightly more optimistic than usual when I sent that comment hehehehe!
thx nica for this.....letting me know about this video......i have been inspired
i am going to do something similar.....going in similar but also different direction----brilliant video...good diction....good poetry and great message....keep going mary!
Very creative and poignant, a paradox indeed, the paths that we know lead us to unlock the doors of truth, are the very doors we need to walk trough and lock again...No safety or surprise.
10 stars on this one, thanks David for sendin' this!
thanks david!...thanks so much.... what a great thing to read coming from a talent like you....i was wondering what you'd think, and was hoping you'd be into it.
