The rabbit was dead, there muscles twitch and so do there nerves. If they get shot, there not going to suffer, they will be in complete shock and try to run away, that what speeds up there death, so they suffer nothing.

@Walkerion I used to go hunting a lot with my grandfather, and he would always say to me. "At certain times of the year wild rabbits have worms and it is not safe to hunt and eat them or you will get the worms." To me it always seems like these wild rabbits are ALWAYS riddled with parasites, both internal and external, ALL year long. They also carry Tularemia.
