I already knew shamwow was a "sham"... wow... no surprise there lol. Seriously though, the towel is nothing new. I worked at a car auctioning place 10 years ago. We prepared the cars for auction by hand washing and detailing .These are the towels we used to dry them. Its used as a "quick" way to get a good chunk of liquid off a surface but its impossible to actually get all the liquid out. We always had to use that first then use a towel. Yes it soaks up liquid like a sponge but doesn't dry it.

Second, it is damp when I use it the second time.

Third, I don't see how folding the clothes could ever help in its performance. That would just cause the item to dry slower.

Fourth, we did not spread it out in a thin line, it is clearly in a puddle above and below the carpet.
