@TheYankeeMarshal Thinking of building an AR pistol using RedXarms 7.5 barrel just like yours. Wanna know so far how you are liking it? I hear doubts about strength of 416SS barrels. Thanks!
1 the caa cheek rest for the buffer tube is GOOD TO GO!!! decision in 2011
2 it is ok to put a walking cane rubber end on the buffer
3 if your "pistol" is LONGER than 26" and is not concealed on your person and does NOT have a butstock than it is not a "rifle" nor a "pistol" nor is it an AOW it is a "firearm" and you can put a vertical for grip on it
A SBR stamp is def needed for this beautiful "pistol". The reason why I put pistol in quotation marks is because I consider a stock-less rifle that only exists because our gun laws suck somewhat. lol
@TheYankeeMarshal I'm sorry, that didn't come out correctly. What I meant was that it would be cool to just SBR the pistol. IMO, that is the only thing missing from this build. I am aware that a tax stamp is not needed for an ar15 pistol.
@oso702 It is needed. AR pistols without a tube are of a different design. I do not know whether the lower would need to be different but the bolt carrier would absolutely need to be different in order to operate without a buffer tube.
@YankeeMarshal---- i see u got her done bro!!! She beautiful!! I wouldnt change a thing!! Now that i kno the tubes are the same size i would of definitly went with the flutted one, it just looks badass!!! Great build man, im diggin the 308 too!! Glad i fount u man!!
O.K. I stand corrected....it's pretty cool. Are you going to make a video when you shoot it for the first time? I would like to see that...Good luck with it.
Great job on that build! Spikes lowers are made by a company here in San Diego called JD Machine. Super quality stuff there! I'm looking at putting together an AR pistol here soon. You gave me some great ideas. Thanks!
It all looks so great together! Good job, brother! Man that forearm/rail and front are awesome! I look forward to your next AOW build! I pray GOD bless you and yours.
@9bymyside yes, according to the ATF that is the case. As long as it is 26" long and does not have a stock it is neither a pistol nor a rifle but a "firearm."
@DarthMink as long as it does not have a stock, if it is 26" or more then it is classified as neither an SBR nor an AOW. It is simply a firearm and can have the forward grip.
@Fredruiz622 I did, but in the end I just felt the gas piston is a solution to a problem that never existed. I am not opposed to it, but I am not that interested in it. Plus, I read so many reliability complaints from pretty reliable sources when I was researching it.
Very Nice Man!!!! thats a sexy piece there....I have been wanting to build one in 9mm....I love the buffer tube and barrel......very very nice job!!! Cant wait to see the shooting vids....she's gonna have some bark!!!!
Figures you'd get a Rail from Yankee Hill that had a defect right after I comment on the quality of their stuff. Looks nice. The nice thing is that if we ever got into a SHTF, you could throw a VG on there and it would be a very effective personal protection setup.
Where did you buy your free float rail and what size is it?

Think about how easy that would be to stuff into a bug out bag for SHTF, thats why I bought my mini draco

a couple of new developments for "pistol" ARs

2 it is ok to put a walking cane rubber end on the buffer

@C172Pilotdude No SBR stamp is required for a pistol AR. I am not sure where you are getting your information.

@C172Pilotdude Yes, a stock on this gun (and a vertical foregrip) would make for an awesome gun.

@milkbig550 Why would you swap the lower?
TheYankeeMarshal 4 months ago
Is the buffer tube needed or can it be flushed?

That is a very nice looking ar15 pistol. Is this NFA regulated?
jorickgabmat 4 months ago
@jorickgabmat No it is not. No Stock, no SBR.

@VideoJames11 I have only shot about 100 rounds through it so far, but it seems to work perfectly.
