Really? I think it's very 'lunch lady'. haha. It's a very fine black thread w/ elastic around the top. I got it at the Vegas car show last year...I don't remember the seller. But I'll bet you could find one similar to it at Sally's...in the ethnic section. It is used to maintain hair when sleeping, I believe.

I recommend the Pearl Frush victory roll tutorial in my Pin Up Series. The victory roll is only on one side and the saily hat would look ideal, cocked to one side behind it, on the light side of the part! Also, the Dorothy Dandridge hairstyle would look cute with a sailor hat on the back of the head. Let me know how it works out.

It uses both. I know you are concerned about heat on your hair (see I HAVE been listening). This book explains how to use cold sets as well as heated ones and if you like a certain style that uses heat, I can let you know the best way to achieve that style without it! :)
OMG...this book is the best. I wouldn't say that Im a master of hair, and this book made every step soooo easy. All of the hairstyles are beautiful and simpler than they may seem. But I love that it does use modern techniques, so it's way easier (and faster being I have pretty thick hair) to use rollers vs. pin curls for me. If u dont own this book...Get it! u wont be disappointed. Thanx Lisa for recommending it! I love ur video's...ur the best!
I think you'll be very happy with it. The haircutting guides are not included but the styles in this book cater to all hair lengths so that is a plus!

There are a lot more styles, she goes into more detail with the different types of curls, features how to curl with steam/soft rollers, goes more into detail with the velcro rollers....I could go on and on....but it is really worth buying the second edition :)
I know what you mean about doing better work when you have something to look at. Give me a blank piece of paper and I haven't the foggiest idea of what to do with it. But don't mistake that for a lack of creativity. Your creativity is what makes you jump in and say "i can do that" and then wing it when its not exactly "by the book". You are definitely an artist.

btw im struggleing with doing pincurls in my shortish hair.... any tips? its hard when there is parts (in the back mainly) where its nok long enough to get the ends inside proberly
I know it's tough. It's best to try different products for controlling the ends. then wrap the end around your finger before rolling...Even if it is not perfect, the curl should 'take'.
I love your hair in this video, and seeing as YOU are so talented, I will take your word for it and order this book. And please don't feel darling, you're videos are MORE than helpful! I watch them all at night to decide how I'm going to do my hair the next day; ridiculous I know, but you've opened my eyes and my skill level up so much. Wow I really want this book. I like the fact that she has a section that shows you how to work with Bettie bangs. I'd always let my bangs grow out for a while so I could do other styles. Then, by the time they were long enough to do anything with them I'd start missing my bangs and get them cut all over again. lol

I bought the first edition (second edition is on it's way!)awhile ago and it really is an awesome book. She covers EVERYTHING when it comes to pincurls, fingerwaves, etc. and it's a real help.

It uses both. I know you are concerned about heat on your hair (see I HAVE been listening). This book explains how to use cold sets as well as heated ones and if you like a certain style that uses heat, I can let you know the best way to achieve that style without it! :)

OMG...this book is the best. I wouldn't say that Im a master of hair, and this book made every step soooo easy. All of the hairstyles are beautiful and simpler than they may seem. But I love that it does use modern techniques, so it's way easier (and faster being I have pretty thick hair) to use rollers vs. pin curls for me. If u dont own this book...Get it! u wont be disappointed. Thanx Lisa for recommending it! I love ur video's...ur the best!

I think you'll be very happy with it. The haircutting guides are not included but the styles in this book cater to all hair lengths so that is a plus!

I ordered this book the first time I saw this video... it arrived, and I opened it and DIED. Then I was revived from the dead, managed to open a page, and died AGAIN.
It is the most beautiful, wonderful, glorious, fantastic, swell, whatever other words one might find for FREAKING PERFECT.
It's just... no words can describe how heavenly this book is.

I finally got my copy of the second edition of this book and it is so worth it!
For anyone who has the first edition, buy the second edition!!!
There are a lot more styles, she goes into more detail with the different types of curls, features how to curl with steam/soft rollers, goes more into detail with the velcro rollers....I could go on and on....but it is really worth buying the second edition :)

I know what you mean about doing better work when you have something to look at. Give me a blank piece of paper and I haven't the foggiest idea of what to do with it. But don't mistake that for a lack of creativity. Your creativity is what makes you jump in and say "i can do that" and then wing it when its not exactly "by the book". You are definitely an artist.

btw im struggleing with doing pincurls in my shortish hair.... any tips? its hard when there is parts (in the back mainly) where its nok long enough to get the ends inside proberly

I know it's tough. It's best to try different products for controlling the ends. then wrap the end around your finger before rolling...Even if it is not perfect, the curl should 'take'.

I love your hair in this video, and seeing as YOU are so talented, I will take your word for it and order this book. And please don't feel darling, you're videos are MORE than helpful! I watch them all at night to decide how I'm going to do my hair the next day; ridiculous I know, but you've opened my eyes and my skill level up so much. Wow I really want this book. I like the fact that she has a section that shows you how to work with Bettie bangs. I'd always let my bangs grow out for a while so I could do other styles. Then, by the time they were long enough to do anything with them I'd start missing my bangs and get them cut all over again. lol

I bought the first edition (second edition is on it's way!)awhile ago and it really is an awesome book. She covers EVERYTHING when it comes to pincurls, fingerwaves, etc. and it's a real help.
And I don't feel that you have done an injustice to your subscribers! You're videos are absolutely amazing and a real help, and I'm sure now they will get even better now that you have some inspiration!
