I have completely stopped using plastic or paper bags when I shop. I carry a number of eusable canvas bags with me at ALL times, and when I am in the hospital I user a very large SportSac as a purse, and put ALL purchases inside of it. I ALWAYS say- Thanks, but no bag. It's not much, but i'm very poor, and I try to leave as small a footprint as possible, regardless.
