  • my names kyle aswell can I have your car?

  • Beautiful bird man! Love these 383 builds, they have serious potential.

  • Put an STS on it! I am a big believer in turbos!

  • @chaas013 Screw STS. Get a kit and pickup a quality turbo for it and stick with the conventional style of turbo kits. Rear mount is inconvenient, longer spool times (although they claim it's the same), and it is already pretty limited on space underneath F Body's.

  • @need2speed94 It's so hard to find room under the hood for a decent sized conventional turbo though.

  • @chaas013 Yea that's definitely true too. And most people that end up going with a turbo have to delete AC or power steering, which a lot of people would like to keep. There are some thought that work around it and keep em, just gotta get clever when you go to make a kit or find the right kit.

  • So sexy. Makes me miss my '93 B4C...I am happy I switched to Diesel though, more bang for the buck.

  • howd you get it to 383 from the stock 350?im building a 93 lt1 and need pointers if you dont mind lol im looking for a good cam, heads, headers and exhaust, and gears if you dont mind

  • @xcrunnersrock

you bore the motor .030" (thirty thousands of an inch) over and use a rotating assembly with a stroke of 3.75"

  • I'm watching a video of a true badass American muscle car, and there's an ad for a Hyundai "Veloster" in the corner. LOL, fuck that Korean piece of shit

  • Nice, I got a 94 z28 with a 383 stroker lt1, t56 transmission (ram clutch), and a built rearend, and tons of other mods pushing 490 horses to the pavement (Dyno before I got new heads)

  • whats with the flames

  • nice car man

  • Wish my LT1 sounded like that!! Man that is a great sounding beast.

  • @sdripp33 - that's a strut tower brace

  • Whats the technical name for that blue bar going across the engine compartment?

  • @sdripp33 Strut tower brace if I'm not mistaken

  • wow how did a video get turned in to a garage battle???? Love the car and great cam idle..... with the motor work done did you have to have your computer flashed or does the factory setting carry the cam? I would love to start messing with my 94 lt1 but this whole lt1 thing is new to me. im used to the old 350 with a distributer and normal cooling system

  • @scalfad - LOL, yeah internet warriors. The PCM definitely needed a new tune for that setup. Thanks!

  • This is one NASTY LT1 . I have a 94 Formula, rebuilt trans, i want to build mine

Is yours a 383 stroker, with what Cam lifter kit and heads. Very clean shit man.

  • @MixQuisite - Thanks! That setup was a CC306 cam, Comp R lifters and stock ported heads.

  • @MixQuisite - Yes, it's a 383.

  • very clean job... sweet ride! :]

  • can't beleive all the stupd ass comments on here i feel sorry for the ones who know NOTHING about making a 10 sec car

  • Does it make popcorn? mmmm

  • SIIIICCCCKKKK!!!!!!!!11

  • seems like you guys got it tuned good, quick Q for ya, we put a LT1 in a chevy truck, it ran fine untill we put a super charger, we have had the puter flashed three times but can't seem to get it dialed in, where did you get youe ecu work done at?

  • first start means ITS NOT TUNED YET!! enough with the stupid comments

  • I DONT KNOW WHAT PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT IT SOUNDS AWESOME IDLING

  • Those Are Some Fucking BadAss Flames!

  • I love this car!!!

  • Sounds Really Bad Actually.

  • who ever thinks this sounds like shit you should never step foot in a garage again... Keep the hating comeing. Sound like jealousy to me. sounds healthy even threw a camera.

  • truely one awesome car... people on youtube are absolute morons! I started mine for the first time after the rebuild with open headers... sounds very similar. Just ignore people on here... I've seen this car take down some c6 vettes so i know it runs hard as hell

  • that paint job is ricetastic

  • Please explain to me how a cammed 383 with open headers sounds like shit? If you think it sounds like shit how about you go listen to mustangs or something if you want to hear shit

  • @theonlyChrisMatrix - Thanks for the awesome comments!

  • @theonlyChrisMatrix thats how stokers + cams sound moron get off youtube and pick up the books

  • @XxJareebxX iight so its supose to sound like shit awesome my cars engine is knocking horible as hell and it sounds better then that so dnt try to be a smart ass im saying truth

  • @theonlyChrisMatrix its a shity camera

  • @theonlyChrisMatrix That's called a RADICAL CAM, you must be a real car nut huh?

  • @TheBarrett1971 idc what its calld who ever makes there car sound like shit on purpose is a retarted basterd

  • @theonlyChrisMatrix Well if you understand cars at all, it doesn't sound like shit, it sounds awesome that's why you have some many negative comments above for an engine to put out radical power it has to have thing like radical cams.

  • @theonlyChrisMatrix Well if you understand cars at all, it doesn't sound like shit, it sounds awesome that's why you have some many negative comments above for an engine to put out radical power it has to have thing like radical cams.

  • @theonlyChrisMatrix ye, GOD'S SHIT!

  • it sounds good when its being reved but in idle it sounds like shit not to mention can you imagine how annoying it would get after awhile

  • @tedahwooga - It was started with open headers that day since I hadn't had a chance to get the exhaust done yet. It was never driven like this.

  • Bloody Awesome a great job

would like to hear it with a decent exhaust on though

i like the paint job really suits the car

  • I never liked flames till I saw this! Nice paint!

  • awesome man! im 15 with a 96 base firebird. i have a 383 stroker im dropping in within the next few months

  • Nice car. Plan on making my a 383 as well. How hard was it switching from an auto to a manual? Its something i've always wanted to do but it seemed very difficult.

  • @devilbmxer120 - Thanks. The swap really isn't difficult at all. Find a place that has the entire swap kit. Cut a hole in the tunnel, install the clutch and tranny and connect a few wires. The hardest part for me was installing the master cylinder.

  • was that dave at 2mins in?

  • @phoenixsonoma - Nah, Dave wasn't there that day. Just me Tony, Scott and my neighbor Glenn.

  • @tx20d yeah after i listened to it, it sounded like tony i think. ive only met you guys once so i could be mistaken.

to those naysayers out there, this is one of the best cars i have seen in my short lifetime. tx20d and his friends have put long hours into this car, and it shows. 11s on a 6 speed in a car that CAN get daily driven is excellent. im certain tx20d knows what he is doing, as this car is still making passes 2 years AFTER this video was taken.

    best of luck tx20d,

    phoenix

  • @phoenixsonoma - Thanks man. Best ET to date is 10.35 @ 135. I'll be gunning for 9's next spring and I'll still drive it to work then as well.

  • you have a weird taste in paint jobs

  • its cool man yea im bout normal some of these people are bout dum i try to put it the best way i know lol but keep postin videos hey i got some pics of the iroc if you got a myspace just give me your thing and i send you a friend request

  • yea i wasnt trying to be an ass or try to act like i know everything like alot of people do on here lol i had a 88iroc i did the 94 lt1 swap with the t56 and it made 430 at crank but we had alot of over heating issues with it the hose that runs from each head on the back that normaly runs on the intake since are was carburated we had to route it to water pump but it ran strong

  • @stephenjray1988 - 3rd gen huh! Sweet! I definitely miss mine. This setup made around 410 to the wheels and the new setup made 486 to the wheels. Again, hope I didn't come across the wrong way. Thanks for watching.

  • i hope this wasn't the very first start because you should have set the idle around 2000 to get the cam broke in. i read in one of your response and said you changed cams so was that the reason of changing them premature wear?

  • @stephenjray1988 - Yeah, this was the very first start. I'm gonna try to explain this without being a dick. It's amazing that all you guys that weren't here somehow know the exact events pertaining to this video. We started the car, checked for oil pressure, and oil, coolant and fuel leaks. Once we made sure everything was ok, we ran the engine around 2000 RPM for several minutes to break in the cam. This is not in the video! Notice how the video transitions at 0:48 seconds in??

  • @stephenjray1988 - Regarding the cam swap. I did a heads, cam, intake upgrade earlier this year that picked up 80 hp to the wheels. The old cam and lifters were fine when we pulled them out. No abnormal wear patterns to be found.

  • hey what kind of cam is that and what rpm do you shift at, i got a 383 lt1 with a cc503 it sounds pretty similar. BTW nice fucking T/A

  • @gforce91 - Thanks! The cam at that time was a CC306. I believe I was shifting around 6,400.

  • @tx20d cool thanks, if i was to do another build i would get a bigger cam like that or similar. Thanks!

  • what a bucket of crap... burn it

  • I love the paint job.

  • Those revs sound like a drum solo at a rock concert! I just can't remember the song.

  • BEAUTIFUL CAR ALL AROUND IN MY OPINION. HATS OFF TO U GOOD SIR.

  • fucking awesome... i have a 94 Camaro.. but its a v6 :( i wanna find a LS1 tho

  • I'm a Camaro junkie (have an 02 SS Camaro with a mild street build), but I have to say I think this is one of the nicest looking Pontiacs I've ever seen. Great job, Very nice car. And just ignore that neanderthal idiot "conveyicians". He probably doesn't even own a car and wouldn't know how to open the hood, let alone work on an engine! If you ever decide to sell it, let me know!!!

  • Beautiful paint man who did it.

  • @81TransAmJunkie - Von Otto out of Waco Texas

  • nice ride. I see you shop at O'Reilly Auto Parts. they are good !!!

  • timing sounds way off...

  • @jdjd181 - Actually it wasn't. The idle was just set a little low.

  • Good job ruining that perfectly good T/A with a uhhhh GOOD paint job! Like ya!

  • nice dude. did the same thing to my ls1 and threw a supercharger on there :)

  • @conveyicians. Wow, You really are an idiot. Ya freakin JACKHOLE

  • THE IDLE IS IN THE TUNE. NOT THE EXHAUST. SOUNDS GOOD THOUGH STILL

  • okay wtf why u got my car u stole it!!! haha jk nice car though

  • - "man you ought to just keep your mouth shut when you can't prove anything"......I agree.

  • I'm on the fence 'bout this one, needs new paint, and the sound quality of the video is terrible. Nice ride, otherwise. I just dropped a 383LT1 in my 96 Z28. Very few realise how much power these motors can generate.

  • Ive seen this car at the meets, it's extremely nice, dont knock it till you have seen it in person.

Conveyicians - man you ought to just keep your mouth shut when you can't prove anything. Arguing on youtube is pointless.

  • This car is bad to the bone...Don't feel bad, I use a starter too!

  • instead of arguing with this conveyicians dude, why not just set your nice 383 up at the strip line and he set his ford freaking fiesta (for all we know) up at the line and see which one wins :p maybe race for pinks too, that way you can light the ford on fire at the end... seems like a good idea to me, just saying...

  • Hey conveyicians, I stuck my weiner in your mom.

  • Instinct Magazine

  • blah

  • Hey I have seen this car in GM High Tech! Its the coolest Lt1 around. I think one of those " bubbas" is T. Shep ... AKA an LT1 god.

Hey conveyicians what mag has your car been featured in ?

  • sick car

  • amazing car...great work !!

  • dude. ur car is fucking awsome

  • I'm not too hot on the paint, but to each his own. Either way, that machine sounds like a dream come true. Nice work!!

  • Have you thought about getting a P.M.S(progammable computer for ALL of your needs(nitrous, supercharger, turbo etc,.

  • Nice ride. I've seen your car in Gm Hightech Performance.

  • wht cam u got on this? cuz me n my dad are rebuilding our 94 383 stroker starting today into a 396 lt4 stroker n that cam sounds fuckin beautiful

  • @Bddraughn92 - Comp Cams #07-306-8 (CC306): 230/244 @ 0.050 duration, 0.510/0.540 lift, 112 LSA. I'm using 1.7 rockers, so actual valve lift with that cam is 0.578/0.612.

  • @tx20d thats a nice size cam i think we have sumthing on order similar

  • @tx20d sik formula i actually hav a 91 luv her but its a 305 tbi. although it seems oddly mor powerful then any other 305 i hav seen and i dont no y but it does ha. but i was wondering what is that shade of grey calld i am looking 4 the same color, red is a little 2 playd out 4 me especially on 3rd gens -_-

  • @50ic - Thanks! The color is Sebring Silver Metallic.

  • @tx20d Well, either you are lying about that being the "first start" - or you did not break the cam in like you were supposed to. Which is it?

  • @conveyicians Well genius, did you ever think that not all the video footage made it on YouTube? Probably not, huh? Too busy tryin to be an internet know-it-all. Everything was broken-in properly following the engine builder's instructions.

  • @conveyicians OMG, you're right. I did hear a starter! Imagine that! I used a starter to start my car. What exactly do you think is missing from the video that leads you to believe that this wasn't the first start? Your previous comment makes no sense whatsoever. Please try again. I eagerly await your next idiotic comment.

"Suck it harder baby!" LOL! Wow, do your mommy and daddy know you use that kind of language.

  • @conveyicians You have got the stupidest person that has posted in here...

  • @conveyicians what in the fuck are you thinking? why the fuck would he not use a starter? if its a 6 speed what did you want him to do push it down a hill and push start it? your a tool

  • @conveyicians dude, Did you really have to make that big of a deal about that? Wow man, you have no life. lol. Actually, this guy looks like he done quite a well job on his car, And im pretty sure he has no reason what so ever to lie about something on youtube. And your comment, it didnt make any sense, at all.

  • @conveyicians imma assume u drive a shitstang. ha.

  • @conveyicians Hmmm... it never occurred to someone that maybe... just maybe there might be some time lapse between sections of the video? Wow! It might be a clue where the video obviously stops and a new title for a new section of footage appears on the screen, and then the video starts again.

  • @conveyicians Still waiting... Please explain how we screwed up? And why would I remove your comments. I want everyone to see how big of an idiot you are. Inbred? Wrong. Cousins? Wrong again. I see a pattern here. I wonder what else you could possibly be wrong about.

  • @tx20d I don't care what they say say, sounds pretty good 8)

@conveyicians How do you figure they didn't break in the cam properly? Roller cams don't require break in...

  • @Doober12082 yeah they do...30 mins of 2k to 2.5k. i just installed a comp cam in my 97' v6 camaro

  • @bjsniffitproductions Then why is it stated just about everywhere (online forums, magazines, etc. etc. etc.) that break-in ISN'T required for a roller tappet cam? Do you have specific instructions included with your Comp Cams roller camshaft that say to break in your roller tappet cam?

  • @Doober12082 Camshaft Break-in Procedure

"Important: On hydraulic and mechanical (solid) flat tappet cams that require dual valve springs, the

inner spring must be removed during break-in. This allows the lifters to establish rotation and

develop a good wear pattern. As soon as the engine fires, bring the RPM up to 2000 to 2500 during the."

  • @bjsniffitproductions Ok... I'll requote...

""Important: On hydraulic and mechanical (solid) FLAT TAPPET CAMS" - he has a roller cam engine, which doesn't require break-in.

  • @Doober12082 any way that off the instructions that i got with the cam. now idk if we're talkin about the same cam so if im wrong then my bad for bringing it up lol

  • @bjsniffitproductions It's no biggie, you never stop learning. Flat tappet/lifters are just that, flat at the bottom where they contact the cam. Roller cams actually have a wheel, and because of how they're designed they don't rotate in their bore like flat tappet lifters, so they don't need to establish a wear pattern on the face of the tappet or the lobe of the cam itself. That's why a break-in period is required for flat tappet cams, to establish a wear pattern.

  • @tx20d i honestly cant figure out why conveyicians cares so much if this is truely a first start.

  • @conveyicians Man u sure r a little bitch arent u .... U speak of things u know nothing of and it shows. I am sure ur just some loser who will never own a fast car in thier life or make anything of them selves thus spend all your time speaking out of your ass like u have on this videos posts. Grow up, learn what the fuck ur talking and get a clue u interweb pussy. Maybe one day u can own a car capable and able to do the things this man has done with his cars in his life.

  • @conveyicians

I dont know guys... I think this conveyicians guy might know what he's talking about.

After all he did just get his GED and is on his way to being the most popular boy at ITT.

Way to go buddy! Do it for your family!

  • @conveyicians

I guess I don;t have a brain...no wait I do it must be you who is lacking.

    WTF dude your an ass.

  • @conveyicians seems to be clearly the first start of the car being tuned properly.. stop trying to be an e-troll and just enjoy a badass fuckn firebird. Nice car man.. love it

  • god thats sexy what kind of rims are those, and how big are they

  • sounds very nice, but as sound before, she could have better paint on her

  • More flames on the body please!

  • This is one of the best Birds I have seen in a while. Very nice flame job and paint scheme. The motor is off the chain. As someone else commented, hella clean engine bay. The local car wash gets angry whenever I drop in to spray my '87 Corvette engine bay clean. Curios, what is that to the left of the 'bird?

  • why was that fellow wearing rubber gloves?

  • @mo0seyf4te - We were spray painting some stuff earlier.

  • itd be even better if you put all that nice stuff on a droped in ls1. i dont understand... i just got a fully moded and tuned 01 trans am almost perfect condition with zr1 rims and original rare camaro wheels for 11k

  • Sounds good but that paint looks horrible. It's not sharp or crisp at all and looks fuzzy like someone airbrushed a t-shirt at the mall. Ditch that stuff. The engine bay is too nice for that kiddie crap.

  • I appreciate the comments on the engine bay, but this paint job isn't "kiddie crap" and has gotten the car into a few different magazines plus a 5 page feature in GM High Tech. I'm sure if you saw the car in person your opinion would change. Thanks for watching.

  • pwnt. lol

  • @tx20d chuckd85032 needs to show us a video of his car (dumbass)

  • @anITALIANdude He needs to either "Nut up, Or Shut up", About his car.

  • @tx20d how much hp u got b/c my boys got like 540 rwhp and he dosent have that brace over the engine

  • @bobwatters - The most this car ever made was 624 rwhp. The strut tower brace really doesn't have anything to do with the power output of the car. All it does is help minimize chassis flex by connecting the strut towers similar to sub-frame connectors.

  • @tx20d i dont think u worry to much about chasis flex when ur runnin low hp isnt that one of the things that only become an issue with more power i mean it might not be totaly dependent on it but if u got a little stock 6 in there like a firebird or somethin do u realy think that bar would be necessary or even thought about

  • @bobwatters - Well like I said. You don't use a strut-tower brace because you make a lot of power. It helps minimize chassis deflection and is more important in autocross and road racing. During hard turns, one wheel will try to push down while the other tries to push up. The strut tower brace attempts to correct this issue by keeping both tires planted. It has absolutely nothing to do with HP. Talk to LG Motorsports if you want more info.

  • @chuckd85032 gotta drag someone else down to feel better about what you dont have!!

  • awesome paint job and nice car

  • clean as hell.

  • i like the engine bay its clean as hell .good job!! in saying that i want to point out that i have a 96 z28 and paid to have the bay clean when they put my 383 in and it does not look that good!! so good job!

  • Thanks!!

  • i like thous rims...wear did you get them...

  • They are Fikse FM10's. You can find Fikse online.

  • idle sounds like popcorn in the microwave.

  • That 383 would roast 302's alive and forget about that 4.6 crap. 281 are for pussies.

  • fucken sick paintjob

  • i also have a 96 z28. But instead of stroking it, i DE-Stroked it. I turned the 350 into a 305. Then i sawed the engine in half. I removed cylinders 2,4,6, and 8. I replaced the crank with one from a cobalt ss, and now it has a firing order of 1,5,3,7. After splitting the engine in two, i RE-DE-Stroked it to a 156 using the internals and transmission of a chevy aveo. Only problem is that the engine vibrates a LOT! Right now its being held on by the old motor mounts and scotch tape. Any tips?

  • @ford4point0 Ha!

  • Just keep it, it will last longer than any ford out there.

  • @ford4point0 Well I think It might have something to do with the old motor mounts, but on the other hand it could be... Nah its the motor mounts for sure. lol

  • @ford4point0 Yes... if it still cranks, drive it into a ditch.. ..if not use the extra gas you were planning to save and burn it down.

  • This engine bay is SO CLEAN.

I would love to see a tutorial on how to clean up LT1 engine bays to this extent. If you know of any, please point me in the right direction!

  • did anyone point you in the right direction on how to clean an lt1 engine bay?

  • There are lots of different places to find info on cleaning the engine bay up. Running the wiring harness under the fenders and fuel lines behind the brake booster are just a few. Look on LS1TECH in the LT1 section and I'm sure you'll find some stuff. I didn't following anything in particular putting this setup together other than my own preference. Thanks for the compliments.

  • sweet dude thats what me and my dad are building to go in my 1980 rs camaro

  • Cam Specs? Did not see any on the fquick page either. Sounds wicked man!

  • Comp Cams #07-306-8 (CC306): 230/244 @ 0.050 duration, 0.510/0.540 lift, 112 LSA. I'm using 1.7 rockers, so actual valve lift with that cam is 0.578/0.612.

    Thanks!

  • LOVE the cammed V8 that torques the body with the slightest revs. drool
