  • Peggy Welch you couldn't of said it better "was it just poof it came into existence" well Peggy the answer is no Charles Darwin wrote a book about it you should read it it has evidence unlike that book you read on Sundays which although very poetic has no valid evidence.

  • the more holes in evolution the better because it only means we know more about it. just because we dont know the in's and outs doesnt mean its not truth. intelligent design is based on emotions an has no scientific evidence. so no do not teach it in school

  • I would love to see the reaction of "Creationists" to the teaching of ID as considered by the Aborigines of Australia. In the USA "Creationists" are christians, though of course there are still other creationists as well I am speaking about the predominant form. But if they want to teach ID then fine, I want my children to learn the origin of life as seen by the Maori Tribesmen of New Zealand, or I would consider the workings of Brahma as a backup option. Lets see them keen on THAT idea :)

  • Education should never be a "local matter" because thats simply not how fact and knowledge work. It would be tantamount to one school teaching that gravity is a force which is existant between all forms of matter and another school teaching that gravity functions by angels pushing matter. If the difference lies in what local people want to believe it does a horrible disservice to those same children when it comes time to go out into the greater world where Rationalism is the only truth.

  • I hate how people of faith say that evolutionary theory doesn't account for the fact that the origins of life. Abiogenesis is NOT a concept within Evolution. Evolution only applies to organic lifeforms once life exists. If the theists want to propose that God was the cause of abiogenisis than they are free to do so, but nothing in the observation of the Natural world indicates that a God is needed to step in once life exists.

  • ID is merely a way for the religious among us to "get their foot in the door" to start cramming other religious concepts into a person's mind. Children who are learning the basics of Natural science are not in a position to question the sort of investigation that is made by people at advanced degrees of science. A middle school student simply does not have the skills, training, knowledge to understand and contest the investigations of a process which requires advanced knowledge of biology.

  • This people makes me sick... Fuck God...

  • How was god made? Intelligent design is not a theory it is a religion.

  • There is a way to test for intelligent design. See Roger G. Vogelsang's STI device or self thinking interface; 5th generation computer. Science and theology have united in the Unified Field theory where the theory links consciousness(super natural?) to the other 4 forces in nature. They also found a new particle, possibly this new pattern is the consciousness, or God particle.

  • @GateMessenger first of all, 'the god particle' is just a nickname for the higgs boson which is an undiscovered theoretical particle which gives mass to other particles. I have no idea who told you that the unified field theory implies consciousness, because it doesn't. But even if it did and it was the designer it would have to be more complex than the living things you say require a designer making you wrong again.

  • @IceFurnace I may be wrong in certain aspects but I believe I am on the right track. Look up artificial intelligence, 5th generation computer, Roger G. Vogelsang's STI device. Vogelsang found the alpha waves emanating from radioactive americium 241 able to know a priori, tap into the consciousness & then answer unspoken questions with 100% accuracy. Vogelsang used the random generator with the AM-241 to choose all characters instead of how physicists set up zeros & ones in the observer effect.

  • @GateMessenger LOL how did they ask it questions... can u give me a link or something so i know you're not just making this up?

  • The intelligence religion calls God was discovered emanating from all atoms. A self aware consciousness. See the Unified Field theory. Scientists claim this field of intelligence is everywhere. Note the EM waves coming from planets and stars and especially the powerful GRB's occurring billions of light years away. Everything emanates an intelligence via an EM field, down to the radioactive decay of atoms, see Roger G. Vogelsang's STI device, or self thinking interface; 5th generation computer.

  • Great stuff... clearly shows all-around opinions while never commiting to any one.

  • I thought that this documentary (or part of possibly) really brings out the issues of evolution/ID was very well done. I personally don't think that school kids should be given all the facts at that young age as they really don't have the skills or the knowledge to be able to choose the best one. They should be taught the basic building blocks of science.
